  • I took the new 2023 KTM 250 XC out for its maiden voyage. I'll have a separate first impressions video up soon, but I figured I would share a little raw footage of some fun with my youngest son Ben chasing me around a little turn track in the Utah desert. This bike is fun!

Have you guys tested them back to back? Curious to your thoughts.

We haven't tested them back to back, but my son (who has the Gas Gas 250) rode both bikes the same day. He didn't spend a great deal of time doing any type of formal comparison, but his observations were much as you would expect (250 2-stroke definitely feels faster, but in the hands of a capable rider, the 250f is every bit as fast as evidenced in this video of a small turn track, but the 250f has to be ridden aggressively).

That was fun to watch, thanks! I'm in the market for a new bike and pretty much always wrote off the austrian bikes bc of the air forks seemingly negative reputation. Lately here I've become more intrigued by them. What are you thoughts on the suspension? Also, what kind of reliability can be expected out of the gasgas (with proper maint. of course)? Thanks!

The 24's have now gone to a spring fork. Personally, for me, I've never had any major concerns with the air fork. I got mine revalved for my type of riding (after riding them for about 15 hours) and I still really like them. As for the GasGas, it's amazing how good and reliable those motors can be even for a 250F. The key is good air filter maintenance and regular oil changes.

@ridewithmike962 were you on the 250f in this vid? I'm thinking of grabbing a leftover 23 for the nicer chassis...motor has enough bottom?

@@claudemarchand1196 Listen to my wife is what I will always do since I am a mature married husband but stay on the couch I will never do. I am a MMA fighter/coach, drag race car driver, and pro vet gncc sprint enduro racer. All very physical and very expensive hobbies. I am also a retired MARSOC marine straight out of high school an now retired before 50 years old. Very physical fit and can out run/train/fight any 20 year old big mouth I have trained. #how about yourself Claudemarchand1196??
