You definitely have to know your expenses before you retire. We have always been frugal and are now reaping the benefits. Retired, debt free, and life is great

Knowledge of monthly expenses is a key. We live frugally and that is helpful. Inflation and unexpected expenses can cause concern. Sometimes I think I worry more in retirement about money than when our kids were small and we had very little savings during that time. I’m thankful that my hubby and I are on the same page with our finances. God has always provided and for that I’m thankful! Have a great week!

I am financially free because I have been frugal. I just booked Key West from Wednesday to Wednesday and the flights and AirBnB prices are great. Retirement is great when you are frugal and live on less. My backyard is my playpen. Thanks to your channel, I am forcing myself to live on less than I bring in so that I can invest more in the stock market and buy more real estate

Paying off your house doesn’t mean a free place to live. You still have property taxes, insurance and repairs which may only be 30% less than renting. Unless you live without insurance and hope your house doesn’t burn down or hit by a hurricane. That is when frugal Floridians want a govt bailout

My home has been paid off for nearly 20 years and even with insurance and taxes if figured in over a 12 month average it comes out to $354 a month.
No way in hell you are going to rent a place in Houston for anywhere close to that number.
As far as repairs I did do all of the majors such as roof, water heater and HVAC system three years ago and it will be years before that comes up again. Those items cost me 13k.
Renting is not something I would ever consider in my life again.

    Hi Brian
Looks like you might live near my friend in Silver Springs.
I live not far from you too.
We come up in your area often.
Looking for some good camper property up there.
    Tim
