I'm having a meltdown over here about these drywall screws. Bought some only to find out the screws where too small to fit the rail so now I have to go back to the store again
Note to anyone thinking of buying this: You DO need to buy additional screws and anchors (two of each) that are big enough to hold the mount! I was looking for videos because I thought I missed something, but nope they just weren't included.
Thank you so much for making and posting this video! I bought several of these pegboards at IKEA and the instructions were so dreadful that I was utterly lost. You and your husband to the rescue, and I’m now confidently putting them up!
Great video. No hacks but I appreciate James showing me how to hang the pegboard. Nothing IKEA sells has good instructions and thanks to people like you, it's great!
I can’t tell you how helpful this video is. We bought two of these today. And the instructions, well you can’t really call them instructions weren’t very clear. So, kudos for this.
Hey, just wanted to say 'thank you' for posting this video. I just bought this and was trying to figure out how to secure it to the wall. This video helped me immensely. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
Thank you for this! I kept looking at the directions and thinking: this needs screws. Where are the screws? LOL I appreciate the clarification. FYI: Ikea has even fewer accessories in stock than when you purchased yours. It's crazy.
I am absolutely not handy but did pick up this pegboard system. I wish the package let you know it didn't come with the screws to wallmount it! None of the screws we have are large enough, what size would you recommend? Honestly haven't ever bought screws, not sure what to look for - we just have amassed a collection from furniture building kits and sweeping the garage when we moved in.
Your craft room looks so fun now. I wish i saw this video before i had the skadis. I had lots of problems with the ikea directions. But this video makes it clear.
Thank you for this. I’ve used the Skadis pegboards for awhile now, but I had them attached to my table. I’m now in a different house and want to mount them on the wall. I kept all of the hardware, so now I’m about to convince my hubby to put them up for me.
I took a small trip to IKEA and spent about $60,000 and I only went in for a packet of shelf brackets, a spare shelf, some tea lights and a pint of milk.
@@SewingReport It was a joke but I have seen people go in for a few items and then gone and spend several hundred dollars / pounds (I'm from the UK actually). I have some of their furniture but if I move I won't bother taking it with me as it doesn't disassemble that well. Great use of the peg board though. Best of luck with your future projects.
Thank you so much!! I watched this when you first posted it, and am now about to order everything I need for a wall in my craft room. This will be extremely helpful for my husband, as we have also heard that the IKEA instructions are quite limited :-)
Very nice! I didn't want to buy this pegboard because looking at the screws on the outside I thought that it would leave HUGE holes in my wall. Now that I see it isn't going to leave HUGE holes in my wall. I am going to Ikea to buy one tomorrow. Yes, I only have wall space for 1. But, that is better than none. Right!?! Great job both of you.
Getting ready to install a few of these in my art studio (converted formal dining room). I am thinking about installing the smallest sized one on the back of my white Ikea flat storage drawers...it's the exact same width!
My sister and I specifically went to Ikea in Toronto to shop this line and there was nothing left. Just the actual boards but no pegs or other accessories.
Ok, i just finish installing my skådis and am in LOVE with it 😻 Actually I found a little difficulty in installation at first, but your video was helpful 👍🏼
Sure wish I could put my sewing stuff in our livingroom! hehe I don't think my husband would be into it. I actually have a Skådis and just ordered another board because I was running out of room! They're great :)
I really want some of these for my planned sewing room. The problem is that I live in a lovely park home and the walls aren't very thick. Plus, the wall I want the peg boards on has a large mirror on the other side in my en suite. So, I'm hoping for some lovely hints and tips as well.
I was wondering which hooks & containers you purchased for your board. I did find the letter file hooks you used for your rulers. i’d like the white hooks. Thank you!
I hadn't the chance of a craft room for years and my sewing, spinning, lacemaking, weaving.... was scattered all around the house and I just can't find anything I know I have. Sadly, my husband passed away last year. He was very disabled and had the other bedroom. Now I have this room to be a craft room but I have plans but no money so it is a very slow process. If only for my scissors a pegboard would be invaluable.
Tried to find this #8 50 pound kit and only found #6 size at home depot with the same part number 25350. The #8 kit they have supports 75 pounds. Should I get the one for 75 pounds?
No, the spacing is different and the IKEA peg board is more of a slot. I bought a lot of accessories from IKEA for a standard pegboard only to find that they wouldn't line up.
would you be able to run cables underneath the pegboard? i have some wires that go up to a tv and want to place these above my monitors and below the tv
IKEA Skådis Pegboard System | What I REALLY Think... (3 YEAR UPDATE) ruclips.net/video/qfiYmf2bShY/видео.html
I got go to the store to buy screws
Crazy that the drywall screws aren't included with this. It's not even listed in the needed tools in the Ikea instructions.
I was confused about this as well.

IKEA isn't an American company. We don't do drywall here.
Agreed! Did my head in...just put some screws in please. We don't want to buy an IKEA box of screws for 9 quid.
The system is also designed to go on dressers/cabinets. I think it makes sense that screws are separate.

thnak you!!!!! SAME!
I couldn’t help but think that I was watching a news reel, you really do have the perfect news anchor voice!!! 👏🏼
Haha thank you!
😁 I was wondering if she was a previous news anchor.
I thought the same thing!!
Felt like I was watching HGTV. 😂

Thank you James for being cool with this filming, it'll be a great help to us. Also - I learned how the storage tubs work! So thanks for that too! :D

Thank you James! I was intimidated to start but this helped!
Finally getting something that I've wanted forever is so relatable. Also thank you for the video so I'm giving the ol' algorithm ❤️🤛🏻bump.
Finally I found someone showing how to mount it, that was so helpful! Thank you.
Thank you for this! I should have watched this before trying lol. I was trying to figure out how add the ones on top and he made it so easy!
Ahhhhh... Nothing like preparing all the things you intend to get for hours on end, months ahead of time😌
this comment is so underrated
Thank you for the instructions.
Great job James!!!! Thank you for all your hard work and making your sweet wife’s space so amazing.

Do you have any hacks or helpful tips for the IKEA Skådis Pegboard System? Feel free to share them here, and I may try them for a future video.
If you have a friend with a 3d printer, Than you have enough hacks. With a 3d printer you can almost print every Accessoire plus a thound more.
Would you believe I have never been to Ikea? One of these days. I've seen lots of videos of their products.
Looks nice and obviously useful 💖!!! Great job James!!
This is so helpful I just ordered these and had no idea how to put them up, thanks!
what kind and exact size screws are necessary?
I think James earned a place in the title of this video.
You can find him over at the Moore Approved channel!

looks great btw :)

There is a video on hanging the Skadis pegboard with command hooks. You should be able to find it with a quick RUclips search.
hi great vid, can you tell me what are these made from and are thy curable please?
Interesting. I had no screws or dry wall anchors. Should i inquire with IKEA why I had non in my packaging? Great video!
No need to ask Ikea. Nothing they sell comes with screws or anchors. I have bought several items and nothing. Plus, you can't get IKEA on the phone.
Great video super helpful. What did you use for the washi tape? I have that & ribbon I'd like to add to my pegboard. Thanks in advance 😊
You can use connector for additional vertical board
I was wondering which hooks & containers you purchased for your board. I did find the letter file hooks you used for your rulers. i’d like the white hooks. Thank you!
I have some pegboard for a long time. We found them in a dumpster. Just don't have the craftroom.

Completely organized!
Have you found any issues with the bottom not being secured to the wall?
Heyy are the object you are using to hold your vinyl ikea too? I can’t find it 😅
Tried to find this #8 50 pound kit and only found #6 size at home depot with the same part number 25350. The #8 kit they have supports 75 pounds. Should I get the one for 75 pounds?
Looks great!
Great video thank you 🙏
It looks awesome! Nice job, James. So is this the home you are settling into?
Very, very helpful!
Can someone tell me which screws size to get for the wall mount ? I understand that they do not come with the package for unknown reasons.
It’s crazy how 3 years later, this is now $27.99. I wish I bought it 3 years ago 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Are spacer screws includes in the package. I just bought one today but i don’t see it.
helpful vid, thanks
Great assembly, what level does your husband use because I would love to purchase the same one?
Not sure what brand it is, but he got it at Home Depot.
did you anchor to wall studs, or was than unnecessary?
Love your new do..you look very pretty.
I lost my mounting screws for the pegboard, do you anywhere i can get them?
DAMN that husband is fiiiiine
Do you know if the ikea hooks fit on a standard pegboard as well?
No, the spacing is different and the IKEA peg board is more of a slot. I bought a lot of accessories from IKEA for a standard pegboard only to find that they wouldn't line up.
Do I have to have anchors for the screws?
what did u use to hang the tapes? i tried to find it on ikea but i couldn’t find it ☹️
What kind of rod do you use to make the tape/sticker holder?
It was an IKEA accessory, but I believe it's been discontinued
Good Husband!!!
would you be able to run cables underneath the pegboard? i have some wires that go up to a tv and want to place these above my monitors and below the tv
If they're fairly thin, I think that could work.
does it come with the srews
Which dry wall anchors and screws do you recommend for this pegboard? Thanks.

I think I can do it even straighter when I'm drunk.
thanks very insigful
oof, that inflation though. it went from 16.99 to currently 28.99 for the same size and color.
I’m scared if I want to move it somewhere else lol
James is hot.
Starts at 2mins
Ikea instructions really need to improve.
Have you found any issues with the bottom not being secured to the wall?
No it hasn't been a problem for me
