I just began focusing on the RUclips channel. So the algorithm is not in my favor. I do have 50k+ followers on the other platforms so eventually I hope that the channel will catch up.
So basically, in your beginner phase of working out, you can be in a caloric deficit and build muscle as long as your protein intake is high. But as you become experienced and your muscles become more resilient to weightlifting, it will be much harder to build more while in a deficit.
Dude I have found your channel a week ago and I am eating through your content like crazy. You talk straight to the point, beginner level explanation and no bs, just pure facts. Great job

I can build lost muscle (for example if I have not train for a couple of months) while be in a quite large deficit. I can also build muscle while in a slight deficit if I start training better (better mind muscle connection). Thats my personal experience till now.
Guys do what you think is best for your body. Listen to your body and genetics. If u think u can do both at the same time go for it! Everything is possible. This guy is spittin facts 100% but you should do you by the end of the day u r the one that has to go to the gym by urself. Mesure, weight, look in the mirror,... If u see results why bother do 1 at a time? Work hard and we all can achieve anything.
Diet is legit like 80% of the weight loss. You always want to eat a diet that's good in protein, carbs, and some fat with little sugar. Gradually dropping 200-300 calories below your recommended calorie maintenence will ensure you lose weight slowly, but you will lose it and not starve. Nutrition dense foods are amazing. The saying, "you are what you eat", has never been more true.
It's possible to gain muscle in a deficit not being a beginner and continuing to eat well. Muscle requires protein in order to grow. There is some fat stored in muscle. When you workout the bodies intent is to repair the muscle afterwards so it uses protein you consume and fat to rebuild it. Your body is not stupid so of course if somebody destroys a workout and there muscle is really sore they will gain muscle even in a deficit. The body doesn't want to be struggling everytime to do a task. Why we build muscle. The body tried to do something more efficient by gaining muscle to do so. If it notices it's really hard to do something it usually will try to do it better next time deficit or not. I can personally gain muscle and loose fat. Just train and eat enough protein. Don't always listen to somebody who seems to have your ideal body type. There are many ways to get to a certain muscle mass ratio. Bulking and cutting is not the only way. Look up Jeff Cavaliere. He might have a body type beyond what you want and he doesn't promote bulking and cutting.
But the body doesn't build new muscle until it fully recovers that which was lost in the workout. Once the recovery process has completed, your body then overcompensate.
@@henrik3775 I went back to USA working for three week. I already had Nutrisystem at our place. Fat falls off like crazy. Was down 4 lbs in one month, down 8 more pounds 8 days on Nutrisystem. Wondering if it’s the Chromium picolinate in the shakes. I’m eating tons of protein.

It’s a coaching thing. Coaches use them for cues, they can point to or tap body parts while you are lifting, without getting so close that they get in your way.
Every once in a while I hit a recomp period. They have always been very gradual and very subtle, and they have also been self-limiting, since the energy and protein needs changed along the way.
What if I‘m like 30% body fat but without a muscular foundation? Should I need to build muscle first or cut? Because if I cut I may lose even more muscle mass…
02:30 what if your focus is just busting your ass in the gym as hard as you can and feeding your body good food? Won't your body naturally regulate, and still build muscle due to the stimulation from the gym? That's what my body does when I get fat. I can work out for 3 months and my weight will not change, but yet I've clearly gained muscle and lost fat - the body composition has changed. You are on a caloric deficit but what if your body pulls the necessary energy needed from your excess fat tissue that its burning off?
Ok so I'm 210 pounds 5'6 I lost 50 a year ago to get down to this weight.. I still have a lot of fat to lose. I finally got my diet right I work my ass off in the gym, I start with a little hitt, for a warm-up. Then I do super set's arms, chest×4 and back. 4 sets of each with control and good form explosive and everything. I still can't lose weight. What exercise exactly do you mean by leaning down. Thanks for your time. Great stuff 👍 peace
I have a theory that when you're in a deficit or even maintenance calories for a lower activity level , and the deficit is less or equal to your bodies maximum fat utilising capability at a given body fat range, you will add muscle whilst losing fat as long as protein is adequite. If you are fat you are already in a surplus calories(bulking) but your fat utilisation will decrease as you lose fat and adding muscle in a deficit will become impossible (natural athletes) if the deficit is too large.
Its body recomping. Its slower but can work. It works better the more fat you have. Its what i do myself so that i can gain muscle, lose fat, and never feel too hungry. Slow but certainly working. Also good because there are no dramatic shifts in diet over time.
So basicly I was fat was 214 lbs at Christmas lots of cardio and calisthenics now im 170 waaaay stronger waaaaay leaner but im definitely taking beginning gains into account havnt been in a gym for years iv been working out at home and hiking prepping for mnt goat hunts, did 8 days this year so far no shooter billys lots of nanny and kids ect a few smaller billys in the 5-6" range but I can hunt goats every year no sence shooting small goats lol
Im about 12% bodyfat but I wanna get down to about 9% so I look super shredded in my midsection. Does having a low bodyfat slow muscle growth. Ive heard its harder to build muscle at lower percentages but I still want to build muscle fast.
Out of all the amio acids that forms a protein molecule, L-leucine is the first one to be "eaten" in a deficit, since you can find it in abundance. So the logical thing to do, is to supplement it, and have increased levels in your blood stream, thus increasing the percentage of muscle maintainance. It's metabolite HMB is better at maintaining muscle, but it is limited. You can't be on 1000kcal deficit and expect 5g of bcaa to help you in any way..

The video was cool 👍 Just keeping it real , No hate. At some parts he has no idea what he’s talking about Do what IFBB Mens Physique and Mens Classic physique bodybuilder’s use. To gain muscle and loose fat at the same time. This is how you build muscle on a calorie deficit. Do your best to get an estimate of you BMI. Then from there do your best to estimate eating at a slight calorie deficit with 1g of protein per body weight. Do progressive overload trining. Train everybody part 2x a week with 30 min of daily cardio on the elliptical. Spread you meals out during the day 4-5 meals, with every meal containing protein to produce protein synthesis throughout the day. This is called main gaining. It’s way more effective then bulking and cutting. I agree with him we’re both not a fan of bulking
Energy is not the only requirement for muscle synthesis. To be in a anabolic state, you need a certain enzyme (m-Tor) to be active, elevated testosterone levels, and other factors such as cortisol, ampk enzyme as low as possible. If you want to burn energy (and this lose fat), you need to shift from an anabolic state, to a catabolic state, ergo low m-Tor, high ampk. So it's not that the body can't use energy from fat to supply its own muscle synthesis needs, its because he can't, due to the different metabolic state. Hope that answers your question :)
Isn't a calorific surplus just calories you don't need, surplus to requiment. Do away with that surplus and you won't gain fat in the first place. Find the balance between burning fat and building muscle is a matter of trial and error.

Love the videos Man! I wish I could remember who put out the study. I might be able to find it somewhere.anyways it was a study done on natural athletes and showed even in a caloric deficit on highly-trained athletes they could still put on muscle while losing body fat but they had to do it so damn slow it might not be as efficient as going either way. But if you can do it natural I'm pretty sure you can do it the other way around. I have managed to a few times being enhanced with sarms especially when I used cardarine or 9009 it seemed to free up a bunch of calories to go into the muscle building process it almost made it easy. I'm naturally a Fatboy to was really surprised.I was using four different songs at one time hitting it from several angles and I could not put on body fat if I tried and I was still putting on muscle. Again though that's chemically enhanced on sarms and mk677 plus cardarine and sr9009. I could do in a week what would take me a month to do otherwise. I did this for about two months so I might have experienced I plateauing effect after that I don't know. but two months is a hell of an advantage. Again like your videos and happy New year my friend. PS. Try gaining muscle while losing body fat using cardarine and sr9009. It's an amazing difference my friend.

If the body needs extra calories for muscle building can't it just use stored fat as energy? If so that would mean you can gain muscle on a deficit.
