Everything I needed to know about making miniature pottery in just a couple of videos, thank you so much! Your students are lucky to have such a talented and informed teacher. Keep the vids coming, and more miniatures, please! I'd love some vids on how to fire and "glaze" tiny pieces at home without a kiln. Any tips greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for showing how to do this. I love making miniatures and have been struggling with how to trim them.

Can these types of soft clay chums/chucks be used for regular sized pots? I have a duel sided fired chuck made of terracotta. I never really thought of using a centered ball of wet clay.

Absolutely!!! Chums are my go to method of trimming if I don’t use my Giffin Grip!! I have other videos featuring chums. You may want to check out.

I guess I didn't realize until watching your video that a chum and a chuck could be "made to order" as needed! I've always seem them firm leather hard and made in advance to be raised many times. This is so much less intimidating!

You bet! I love chums and chucks! When I too discovered I could make them as I needed it opened up so many possibilities!!

I hate trimming mainly because I have difficulty centering my pots! Love your method, I'm thinking this would also apply to the larger pots?

    • @KaransPotsAndGlass

Absolutely, Lynn! Using a chum or chuck works brilliantly with larger pieces as well! Just be sure to rib your clay to get off the slip! :-)
