I love this game but hate the song with a mad fiery passion (for no reason other than it makes me want to rip my hair out) so I only really use it to teach dynamics to my 3rd-5th graders, and instead of singing the song we use drums and body percussion. And since they don't know the lyrics, we use a sticky-note and they call it "The Sticky Note Game." I'm totally going to use the timer idea! Sometimes my students take seven hundred years to find it and it feels never-ending.

Hahahaha that's so funny that you don't get on with this one. We also play the game with drum but we use a sock monkey and call it the monkey game
