1:15 - 1. Data Familiarization
3:30 - 2. Generating Initial Code
➜Codes: Ideas na makikita natin sa participant's resposes that we found interesting and relevant to our study.
↳Coding: Is part of the analysis where we organize our ideas into meaningful tropes.
↳2 ways to do coding: Semantic Level and Latent Level (Interpretative level).
↳Semantic Level: More on description, summary of the portion of the data (summarize the portion of the data that you found relevant to your study).
↳Latent Level: Going beyond the meaning or providing interpretation of the responses of your participants.
➜Kapag tapos sa coding, and sunod an step natin, hahanapin natin yung major reoccurring ideas, topic, or subject. So ang tawag dun is putting together yung mga codes natin into THEMES. So we put them together to contruct our theme.
6:03 - 3. Identifying Potential Themes
➜So potential pa lang yung hahanapin natin. Yung akala natin theme na, ay under pala siya ng isa pang mas malaki na umbrella, so pwede natin siyang tawaging sub-theme.
6:30 - 4. Reviewing Themes
➜Kailangang reviewing pa natin yung mga potential themes that we have, otherwise, baka mamaya ma overlook natin yung mga magagandang ideas.
6:53 - 5. Naming and Defining Themes
➜Dito gagawa na tayo ng ating analysis. Isa sa mga importanteng bagay na kailangang tandaan ay yung paggagawa ng Thematic Map, so kase pakakatulong yan dun sa no.6 natin na step. Pero pag sinabi nating Thematc Map, dito na ipapakita natin yung relationships ng mga themes sa kida isa.
7:31 - 6. Making the Report
➜Gagawan na natin ng interpretation yung ating theme.
7:48 - Example Table ng Thematic Analysis
➜Meaning Unit: Usually it's yung verbatim response ng ating mga paritcipants.
↳Verbatim response: a 'word for word' statement or response from a respondent or research participant, thus, inlcuding word fillers (Example: Ughmmm, HAHAHHAH and etc.)
➜Codensed Meaning Unit: Aalisin na natin yung mga fillers (Example: Ughmmm, HAHAHHAH and etc.). Ilalagay nating yung pinaka essence nung response nung participantsnatin.
↳Non-verbatim Response: we capture the fundamental meaning behind them. It excludes all unnecessary speech (like word fillers) to make a transcript more readable without changing the meaning or structure.
➜Codes: Yung pinag usapan natin kanina (Refer to 3:30).
➜Category: Yung codes kase pwede siay ilagay sa mga different categories, so yung mga codes natin pwede nating pag sama-samahin.
➜Theme: And yung several categories natin we put them together for us to Have a theme.

May I ask po, yung title po kasi namin is all about effects of certain phenomena? So, ang layunin po namin ay malaman ang epekto ng pangyayari yun sa pamamagitan ng pagkuha sa mga opinyon o karanasan nila, qualitative po ba yun? sa title po kasi namin "Epekto ng Social Media sa Academic Performance ng mga mag-aaral" sabi po ni prof ay quali siya at gagawa ng open-ended questionnaire, babagay rin po kaya ang phenomenological design using thematic analysis dyan? Thank you so much Sir. May question lang po ako sa mga nag multiple case study paano po ang application po and each case po 1 participant lang. In our study we have multiple case study 5 cases po yung handle namin each case may 1 participant lang po. And then Sabi po kasi saamin mag use kami ng thematic analysis then proceed to cross case paano po ang flow nun?
