- On August 13th, metalcore pioneers Killswitch Engage took to the stage for an intimate, sold-out record release show, for their excellent new album, 'Atonement,' at The Space in Las Vegas. Revolver's film crew was there to capture the full performance, which saw the group ripping through cuts off the latest LP - including "Unleashed" "The Crownless King" (which they played live for the first ever) and "I Am Broken Too" - as well as classics such as "Strength of the Mind," "The End of Heartache" and "My Last Serenade." This is one of the best metalcore albums I’ve ever heard and in my opinion one of the top 2 or 3 from Killswitch. It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
I rank this album behind As Daylight Dies and The End of Heartache.
AGREED! All of my faves are with Jesse and this is def in the top 3. Disarm was solid af and so is Alive or Just Breathing. Those are my top 3, no real particular order.

Karen Simpson It’s in the discussion for my favorite album of the year of any genre. Tool came out with a brilliant and underrated album. As I Lay Dying’s album was fantastic as well. I’m trying to get into Korn’s new album. Weezer’s Teal Album Of all the cover songs was pretty brilliant, too. Last but not least the Slipknot and Northlane albums were great too. God, this was such an amazing year for rock. If Chevelle releases their new album this year, omg. 2019 will be the greatest year of music to me if it isn’t already.

@@WeirdSchizo I remember my buddy burned me a CD in 7th grade in 2002 it had my last serenade, vide infra, element of one and just barely breathing I immediately bought the album that day at Hastings lol. And have been my favorite band since that day

zelda ryan Condolences I understand the hard times, I’ve recently been going through my shit myself and even thought about taking my own life at one point. But the metal gods somehow spoke to me through this album and I discovered this album. The lyrical aspect is fucking amazing. The song “ Signal of fire” and “I’m am broken too” are what made me realize a lot. Hang in there I know this sounds cheesy 🤘

Same, first time I’ve ever saw/heard him do backing vocals! But if you listen to the songs on the album it kinda sounds like him? I think he may do backing cleans on the album and Adam does backing for harsher vocals and some screams.
@@tommyw19 Adam is definitely doing backup cleans on the album and has in the past, but perhaps Joel is now too? Like you said, first time I've ever seen him do it.. total surprise!

Saw these guys at a record release in LA. Awesome 45 min set. During the day, in a record store, Amoeba Music, for an intimate crowd, and they crushed it. Buy the CD and, better yet, see them if you can. You won't be disappointed. Jesse's voice better than ever - more range, better screaming, couldn't be better.
Got to see them earlier this year with parkway drive and going to see them again next month😁

@JF Hill I think he sounds pretty good for someone who had to have vocal surgery. Howard was too operatic for my tastes.

Definitely Howard was the only reason that they stood out above the cookie cutting machine. Jesse is not bad by any means, just generic sounding.

Guess you haven't heard disarm the descent, thats the best kse album by far, sonically, lyrically, composition, technically speaking from the instrumentation to the production, and it's Jesse's vocals and lyrics as a major factor
@@jarontaliman1 Anyone can sound good in the studio. This video proves once more that Jesse is "ok", but his live _singing_ lacks quality, stability and range.
@@NedsPlay take out world ablaze live and howard sounds less amazing in others. Everyone wants to take a live performance with badass effects and production and think its raw. Howard has sounded like shit plenty of times, and that trivium song he was featured in it was shit. Howard is amazing when its his style. But other peoples without his own spin, is nothing special.
I will say Jesse does better on howards stuff than he ever did on Jesse's
IMO, Jesse’s great screaming, not so much singing.
Jesse isn't sounding as good in this particular show. He's flat a lot here. However, in most other recent performances he is damn near spot on. He still sounds decent here though.
