The closest I can think of would be It Looks Sad. They have some similarities in sound as well as their progression from indie/emo to a more poppy/synth sound. Besides that, I'm drawing a blank :( I love this sound so much, wish there was more of it
Damn, they sounded like they had a really good run. I feel like that's the formula with most emo bands. - Release a debut - Get semi-popular/really popular - Stay active for a couple of years - Break up out of nowhere, or if you're really into it. Say it's a hiatus.
a small part of me wants to believe it will just be a hiatus but i feel like it probably won't so i will just be sad and listen to florida guilt and sasquatch .22
Or better yet, one of the band members (most likely the singer/leader of the band) gets involved in a scandal regarding sexual abuse and the band is forced to break up. Another totally fun emo band break up trope!
I remember when I first listened to “Bloody Nose” a couple of years ago. I’m still so happy that I looked more into their band after that and while it’s sad that they’re not releasing songs anymore, what songs they did give us are absolute bangers and I’ll forever cherish them. Such good music, man...
Yeah recently i’ve really been into Nineteen and Become Part of the Community. I feel like even with a smaller discography they still really left a huge mark on the scene as a whole
Bloody Nose hit me really really hard. I added it to my like songs on spotify at some point but it got taken down soon after so I didn't listen to it much. I haven't looked into them much, and after I watched this video I felt sad they're gone. But maybe now I'll listen to the rest of their stuff.
Florida Guilt was soo good. But then they would say how they didn't like the earlier stuff and then play beach book and sasquatch as their encore in London ? Which was kinda confusing but I loved everything they put out. So I just wish I could listen to it all on one platform.
First band I ever reviewed that was nice enough to respond to my nosy Facebook messages. I'll love em forever and my Bay Fac merch (from the lighters to the vinyl) are just treasures to me now.
Finding this in late March of 2021. I'm so sad I never got to see them live. I discovered them in 2015, when they released the demo of Jasper Wildlife Association, and I instantly fell in love with their music. I obsessively listened to their Jasper EP and the demos for Crack Pipe, Bloody Nose, and of course, Jasper Wildlife Association. Then when their self-titled came out, I really enjoyed it (though still prefer the Jasper version of Sasquatch .22 and the demo version of Jasper Wildlife Association) but kind of fell out of the loop for a while. Their music was so unique and interesting, and I found it at the exact time in my life that I needed it. Really sad to hear they broke up, but I'm just grateful I got to enjoy their music when they were still around.
I first heard em post-florida guilt but i still have very much enjoyed pouring through their discography. always a pleasure when they pop up in the queue
Wow, I remember being in 10th grade in like 2017 on the unpaid version of spotify somehow (not sure how?) this song came on when i was using one of my free skips. It stuck around in my rotation till I made a new playlist. Tried to find it recently only to find it got removed. fantastic album all around.
YES one thrill was my intro in 9th grade and im SO GLAD ill be able to see them :,) essentially my whole being obsessed with them it was impossible to see them, now im seeing them twice in a week.
Are there any bands similar to bay fac? I’m currently just fucking heartbroken and looking for new stuff
unfortunately off the top of my head idk but i'm pinning this in hopes we'll find an answer to that question

you definitely should! bloody nose is a good one too, great way to get introduced to their stuff. tis a shame they’re no longer around :/

yeah their whole discog can be confusing but it’s all super sick. i think rn the most accessible form is their discography up on their bandcamp
