how come, and i ask myself this to this day, how come one of the CN shows with the nastiest visual aesthetic to it was the starting point for pen ward, alex hirsch, patrick mchale and such to take over american cartooning with their safe, cute and bland drawing styles for the rest of the decade to come. it's so weird to me. it's like they went nuts with this one show only to play it safe with their own creations. last show with GUTS to ever air on the network IMO.
