He didn't display how the plastic wrap will try it's hardest to touches itself anywhere and stick to itself with the adhesive power of Spiderwebs made of Gorilla Glue, to the point where you have to throw the whole thing out and start over
i don't know why anyone even bothers, those stupid serrated box edges don't even work. they rip only part of tin/aluminum foil before it starts tearing diagonally, and they just flat-out never work for wax paper or saran wrap. I just go get a pair of good ol' fashioned scissors and cut myself a good clean edge. Or better yet, just don't even bother and use a tupperware container. saran wrap sucks.
I luv these cutaways that shows something is funny in how relatable it is and how these sorts of things annoy/irritate/frustrate us! Yes, it was kinda long but that was part of what made it genuine, because it's true how much of a pain in the ass plastic wrap can be!
Personally, I'm not a huge fan because it often seems to come off as lazy filler to pad the run time and not something they put true effort into. But, to each their own.

Saran Wrap used to be a lot better but had to remove PVDC, which helped make the plastic more adhesive, in 2004-2005, because that chemical releases particularly toxic fumes when incinerated.
My previous job actually banned from using the plastic wrap because I would always end up with janky diagonal cuts, which would cause the lip to be lost. What made it worse is that it was on a table with a sliding cutter.
I saw an interview with FG’s writers saying that they all keep notepads with them everywhere they go so they can jot down anything that annoys/amuses them to use for cutaways later.
The fucking worst part about plastic wrap is when everything is going okay, you're actually able to wrap things, the wrap is actually doing it's job and then bam..the side gets caught. Then you have to take it out and unwrap the whole fucking thing...or get a knife and cut to the edge of it to get it back to it's normal state. I fucking hate plastic wrap

They play with your expectations that something more may happen, but nope, it's just a surprisingly well-animated but super realistic scene of Peter unraveling saran wrap.
I think the cutaways where peter is just genuinely trying to do something are the best ones

I just love Peter's facial expressions throughout the cutaway
You just know McFarlane had to have had a moment exactly like this at some point.

The idea of Peter saving that amount of food is impossible to believe.
The scene takes less than two minutes, but it feels like ten.

Why do I relate to this so much
The sound of the plastic wrap
The writers put "Peter opens saran wrap" in the script and this is what the animators sent back.
those Manatees worked really hard putting those idea balls together
This why I use aluminum foil 😂😂
The quality of animation is attributed to the animators own personal suffering in doing this and is merely recreate the hell they live in
I saw an interview with FG’s writers saying that they all keep notepads with them everywhere they go so they can jot down anything that annoys/amuses them to use for cutaways later.
