An austrian song, played by germans with a british flag in the background... All thats missing is a Baguette with some Spaghetti and Gyros and we have the perfect european mix

On 28th August 1954 No. Eleven Squadron RAF stationed at Wunstorf,Germany paraded to be presented with a Squadron Standard. The Squadron emblem was a pair of eagles. The March chosen for the March Past was "Under the Double Eagle" played by the RAF parade band. I was on parade as Squadron Adjutant.Perhaps this is a recording of the actual event.
I agree that a British flag is inappropriate. It should ideally be the RAF ensign and the Austro-Hungarian coat of arms or flag (The march was written in the days of the Dual Monarchy). The march is very well-known in the USA by way of John Philip Sousa, America's "March King" and leader of the USMC band, who was very fond of the march and played it whenever he could. Many Americans probably have no idea that it was written by an Austrian for a completely different country! A beautiful, stirring, and lyrical march, and one of my favorites.
The former Royal Air Force Germany (RAFG) was a command of the Royal Air Force and part of British Forces Germany. It consisted of units located in Germany, initially as part of the occupation following the Second World War, and later as part of the RAF's commitment to the defence of Europe during the Cold War.and who mentioned anything about a german royal family?????

I guess now I found the reason the military bands in my country played this march despite having no relation with Germany in terms of military history.
That's OK. John Williams, and the Boston Pops play this same tune - Under a flag with ONE EAGLE. That's is the flag of Austria alone, NOT Austria/Hungary

I used to play this march with a trombone in a Brass Band and 0:49 was my favourite bit
Its an Austrian march, the double eagle was the emblem of austro-hungarian empire, not a little bit british or german
me gusta esa marcha agradable
Yes this ist true, but we Germans play this march too, and its a nice one.

I really like this intro and the name "Under the double eagle" so cool.
