I live in India and often travel to military cantonments in India. I come across so many old time British graves and think. All these servicemen's laid here over 200+ years. They must surely miss their home in England. Their families must have waited those days for their return. May they RIP. British Military marches takes me back in time. I wish the world was a peaceful place. Where we could live like brothers.
Greetings from Canada a proud member of the British Commonwealth. I served Her Majesty in the Canadian Army for the best 24 years of my life IN PACE PARARTUS QORof C
I mean the UK is the reason we have freedom, Europe was on the brink during end 1940 and the Battle of Britain changed the tide of war. We pushed the Jerries back into the defensive action and force through RAF, SAS, SBS & Royal commandos shaking the Germans into panic. We stood against the odds and did not give up, Churchill is one of the best leaders of history to push a people through the unimaginable. GOD SAVE BRITANNIA AND HER FREEDOMS!
You make no sense in your response, and secondly it is very unlikely we are going to have a world war 3 soon due to nearly all nations in the world now being a democracy.
Reminder Churchill is only seen as a 'good man' because he lead us through war. However, the amount of people he knowingly killed to get a small job done is incredible. in D-day (which I know was a massive operation) he knowing killed 1000 people to hold back the German army. They lasted 2 minutes. They killed 2 Germans and destroyed 1 enemy tank. Not much help really. also if you want to praise someone don't let it be Churchill. he only stood at the front as a figurehead. you should be praising Monty. the one who actually came up with the plans.
These would bring back great memories to my father who was in the RAF. I should have told him how much i appreciated what he did for me and his country. There were so many brave people back then,we have got it easy now!
Very nice war songs medly. This type of music is played on the remembrance Sunday when the war Veterans begin to march. They are great men and women they serv their country to bring peace.
For my Fellow Americans, we are deep into the centennial of WW I, which shaped the whole of 20th century history, including both WW II and the Cold War, yet the US is apparently totally unaware of it. The 100th anniversary of our entry into the war passed without fanfare on April 6. The last of the WW I veterans are gone, but to ignore their sacrifices is unconscionable.
With respect, the USA is well known to be ignorant of world matters. All they want is a new gun, a new iPhone and a trip to the mall. Trying to teach them about history is like trying to teach a shark the wonders of salad.
Just checked there are US War Graves at Flanders Field the Audenarde and Kemmel American Monument., mostly in France, but some in Belgium. Sadly the Normandy Landings take all the glory.
@@adammclaughlin845 we Americans are the ones fighting against the terrorists, we are the people defending other nations, we are the ones who helped kick back the Nazis, and we are the ones who shall help give freedom and democracy with pride!!!!!!!!
Thank you ginjaninja... I have been searching for two marches the MLIRC Band played in National Cadet Corps in the .60s.. one was a slow march similar to 'over the waves' but slightly different; the other was a quick march the like of which I have not yet come across on YT.
In the late 50s, we lived in a small town in Western Maryland. I remember that WW I songs still were used in community sing alongs, Pack Up Your Troubles and Long Long Trail among them. Aside from the questionable quality of modern music, it is a shame that the old songs have largely disappeared from modern consciousness, even during 4th of July celebrations.
Questionable quality? So you don't like industrial noise, girls singing about how beautiful they are/how all men want them, R&B up the arse, relentless covers and songs with pointless rap bits in them? How about "god-awful quality" XD
Enzo Abdala: These are the ones I recognise: 1: We're going to hang out the washing on the Siegfried line 2: Kiss me Goodnight, Sergeant Major 3: Lily Marlene 4: It's a long way to Tipperary 5: Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag 6: ??? 7: Mademoiselle from Armentieres 8: Soldiers of the queen
True indeed but the the vikings and the Spanish were first to inspire the British to come.Well mostly the Spanish inspired the British because they took all of Mexico causing British to want to come over to and get land

I’m from Britain and I can confirm we are NOT on the brink of a civil war
Also don’t be rude about Churchill if it weren’t for him u wouldn’t be texting how ruthless he is
Great stuff!! God bless those old Tommys and the greatest generation everywhere.

FOR QUEEN AND COUNTRY
@@joenorton3405 because of the American revolution and many people view monarchs as useless drains on a democratic country.
