Simon just made me realize that in this timeline we had Bret vs Yoko two years in a row, with the one we're rooting for (Bret) losing the first year and the second year had Bret pulling double duty to win.... sounds like history really about to repeat itself.
Off the top of my head: 19: Jericho 20: HHH & Benoit 21: Angle 22: McMahon 23: Cena 24: Flair 25 & 26: Undertaker That is an incredible run looking at it all…
At least do NXT UPS AND DOWNS For Stand and Deliver it's NXT version of Wrestlemania and to skip it wouldn't be fair Idk care who does it but that should be included
I actually enjoyed the tournament format of WrestleMania IV - it was the first "Closed Circuit" show I remember seeing. In a movie theatre, no less. It was very impressionable to a 4 year old kid. I kept that t-shirt for years.
HHH - Taker from WM X7 was my favorite 'Mania Taker match till the HBK/HHH rematches came a decade or so later. I get how ya feel about the Triple Threat Title Match from XX cuz of Benoit, but goddamn, I still love that match and the rematch a month later at Backlash is almost as good. Other faves would be Angle-Guerrero, Edge-Foley, the TLC match from WM2000, Hart-Austin, Hart-Owen, Ramon-HBK, Austin-HBK and Lesnar-Angle...gotta make myself stop otherwise this is gonna be a fuckin' paragraph and not a comment. Oh! ...and all the Golden Ups to you sir for not only going thru all that shit and doing this but for being the best part of this channel day in and day out.
I smile every time I see the love for 17 as I found out only 2 weeks prior that I was going to that show...it was awesome! Also why I admit I've been hesitant to return to a WM as I know it can't be topped in my nostalgia gland.
Piper and Orndorff were an awesome duo and they made the original Wrestlemania event. Piper's ring entrance was absolutely unforgettable. Not feeling the disrespect for King Kong Bundy and Greg Valentine, who were main event heels in their heyday. Personally I think The Rock vs Hogan was the greatest Wrestlemania match because of the storytelling and audience engagement. It wasn't even the main event, but it stole the show. Roman/Brock/Seth was a banger, as was HBK/Razor. The Johnny Knoxville/Sami Zayn debacle was an embarrassment.
Hey hold up a second BROTHER! Hulk didn’t ruin WM9! All the Hulkster did that night at WM9, was come save Bret from Yokozuna, finish the job Bret couldn’t, and took the belt back. Leaving thousands of Hulkamaniacs screaming and going home happy that night. You’d think Bret would be grateful. But no! Instead, years later… The Hulkster goes out, gives it his best effort, puts on the squash match of the century beating sting, clean in the middle of the ring 1, 2, 3 at Starcade 97. Then in slides Good ole “it’s still real to me” Bret Hart to get his “revenge” against Hogan for WM 9, and help Sting cheat Hulk out of his title. Bret’s one sick individual
23:45 “He never came back, he never did anything else….and if you think you saw him do something, you did not, delete it from your brain.” Yep, if you know, you know 😂😂😂
Thank you Simon Miller. Enjoy Wrestlemania and Philadelphia. KofiMania should have been a Golden Up. Please do a video of the places Wrestlemania should take place. The caveat, take out the usual places like Florida, Texas, Phoenix, New Orleans, and anyplace WM has been within the last 10 years.
The only thing I would've changed was to give the golden up to Demolition vs Andre/Haku at WM6 for two reasons... 1.) that pop when Haku was pinned has to be one of the loudest WM pops of all time and 2.) Andre gets a warm and most deserving send off. Otherwise, nice work, sir!
Jesus Simon! I posted my size improvement via strength training and now i see you and youre looking SWOLE. Dope. Oh and was wondering when you'd do this style ups and downs.
Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan was the first wrestling match I ever watched when I was a little kid and he just booted him in the head and it ended immediately and I was so confused on what wrestling was😂😂😂
Honorary Brown Down for WM34. I paid $1200 for floor seats and I was mostly disappointed. Asuka lost her streak. Shinsuke should have won. DB return was great. Being in a crowd that was rebelling against the main event was weird but definitely a moment. Takeover was dope tho!
WrestleMania IX's Up should go to The Steiners Vs. The Headshrinkers. It was the best match of the night for being the only one that went a decent length with a good ending. And WrestleMania XXXVIII gets a brown down for The New Day Vs. The Brawlings Brutes. It was bounced from one night to the next so Vince could indulge in himself. It was only given less than two minutes. And The Brawling Brutes won. This match took place a few weeks after Big E's injury. Kingston and Woods came out in Big E singlets...
Jeff Hardy is and always will be my favourite pro wrestler but the highlight of WM23 is not the MITB (as great as it is) but it’s HBK v Cena which I think might be the most underrated WrestleMania main event of all time… Love It.
I was a kid when Wrestlemania came out. By the 2nd, it was the biggest event in my life. My brother and I would watch 1 and 2 every few months. I'll admit that they were pretty bad, but the spectacle was insane.
A whole Ten-man Tag was cancelled at WM X, so I bet Quake and Adam were happy to get on the show at all, even just to promote the Whippleman/Finkel feud... 🤣🤣
Imagine talking about WrestleMania 10 and not talking about razor Shawn ladder match
That match deserves the Golden Up
Simon just made me realize that in this timeline we had Bret vs Yoko two years in a row, with the one we're rooting for (Bret) losing the first year and the second year had Bret pulling double duty to win.... sounds like history really about to repeat itself.
WWE loves repeating old storyline tropes
I am surprised we haven't had two male Rumble winners again, like in 1994
Like in 2016, I called it. I knew it would be a Rumble for the wwe title, throwback to 1992.
Simon Miller is a legend for doing this. Why? (Slaps head) *HERE'S WHY*
Dear sir your get a golden up!
Honorable Up: HBK v. Angle at WM 21
Honorable Down: Sting v. HHH at WM 31
Simon Miller you sir get 40 golden ups
Simon watches wrestling so we didn't have to.
HBK could have got the ups between WM19 to WM26. This was a crazy run.
Off the top of my head:
19: Jericho
20: HHH & Benoit
21: Angle
22: McMahon
23: Cena
24: Flair
25 & 26: Undertaker
That is an incredible run looking at it all…
Wm 12 iron Man match was awesome. Come at me bro!
Best moment of my childhood, and going 0-0 made it feel huge.
At least do NXT UPS AND DOWNS For Stand and Deliver it's NXT version of Wrestlemania and to skip it wouldn't be fair Idk care who does it but that should be included
Simon, if you're not gonna continue NXT ups and downs, you could at the very least do ups and downs for NXT PLEs.
I feel like a mention should have been made for Gunther/Sheamus/Drew
I was at Mania 3 and 23. Really hoping to make it to 43 in a few years!
No way I would have refound my love for wrestling without Simon
There’s a lot to say about Greg Valentine, but “limited wrestler” isn’t one of them.
I wanna just say thank you guys at Whatculture Wrestling for the content on the road to Wrestlemainia. Made this road that much more enjoyable
Simon you're a national treasure that deserve a golden up
Golden ⬆️ for Simon. I can't wait to see what happens at this year's Wrestlemania.
I love you, Simon Miller. That being said, how dare call Butterbean a carnival boxer he was legit he held belts in both boxing and mma.
This is a very bold and wild Ups and Down.
Not gonna lie… This is content worth the NxT Collision time save. You are still a national treasure.
Please do this for the other main shows! Would love to see a Rumble version!!!
Didn't know i needed this in my life thank you
15 minutes in and we have more downs than all the Ups/Downs of all time combined!
I love that Simon bought back the brown down!! 😂
I actually enjoyed the tournament format of WrestleMania IV - it was the first "Closed Circuit" show I remember seeing. In a movie theatre, no less.
It was very impressionable to a 4 year old kid. I kept that t-shirt for years.
When you mentioned Adam Bomb, I went straight yo WCW and the Mortal Kombat characters; Glacier, Mortis and Wrath.
Oh! ...and all the Golden Ups to you sir for not only going thru all that shit and doing this but for being the best part of this channel day in and day out.
Thank you Simon! That was great!!
I will never ever forget how mad kid me was when the ending of WM9 happened. All these years later it isnt any better knowing what we know.
Let’s have more of this older wrestling ups and downs. Great stuff
That guy Bundy squashed was S.D. "Special Delivery" Jones, a WWE Hall of Famer and known as one of the nicest guys in the biz's history.
I loved the WM4 tournament. But I was like 9 and loved Macho Man, so…
Voodoo; tying a guy in the ring ropes and choking him while your partner goes out to grab a chair... 🤣🤣
The evening gown match was made for me Simon
The moment Hulk won the belt was the moment I stopped being a Hogan fan and Bret became my favorite. Little kid me was pissed.
Mr Simon you are a shining light
Keep on keeping on
Great job, Simon!!
I smile every time I see the love for 17 as I found out only 2 weeks prior that I was going to that show...it was awesome! Also why I admit I've been hesitant to return to a WM as I know it can't be topped in my nostalgia gland.
Well done….this was straight 🔥🔥
Simon "The Goat" Miller
No Golden Up for the legendary WM17 ladder match?! In no universe is that reasonable. :D
Oh man, I wish I could forget Big Show vs. Akebono 😬😬😬😬
This might be the first time ever someone mentions WM10 and the Ladder Match with Razor and Shawn wasn't mentioned
22:16 the figure four/ heel hook spot is as glaring as Lesnar's shooting star spot.
Mick Foley in the main event will forever be a golden up from me.
I'll give an Up to Boss Man Vs. Akeem for the duel of the awesome entrance themes. Hard Times and Jive Soul Bro!
Hey hold up a second BROTHER! Hulk didn’t ruin WM9! All the Hulkster did that night at WM9, was come save Bret from Yokozuna, finish the job Bret couldn’t, and took the belt back. Then in slides Good ole “it’s still real to me” Bret Hart to get his “revenge” against Hogan for WM 9, and help Sting cheat Hulk out of his title. Bret’s one sick individual
“A really aggressive funeral” 😂
23:45 “He never came back, he never did anything else….and if you think you saw him do something, you did not, delete it from your brain.” Yep, if you know, you know 😂😂😂
Thank you Simon I just love ups n downs
Mania 22 and Taker's streak matches were amazing Simon! Not mention? C'mon man! Mania 27 I LOVED Punk vs. RKO!
I find Simon ridiculously entertaining
21:55
I COMPLETELY Agree
The First One WAS better than the second one, though both were phenomenal🎉❤😊
I lost count there somewhere
How did we end up with 40 ups and downs, with only 39 Wrestlemanias ???
Extra golden up and a brown down
maybe cause 1 wrestlemania was ....um....oh yeah 2 nights maybe🤷🏿♂️
What a great video!
I watched this video with LUST IN MY EYES OH YEAH.
WM22 was underrated, and could think of at least 3 matches better than the ones you mentioned.
The only thing I would've changed was to give the golden up to Demolition vs Andre/Haku at WM6 for two reasons... 1.) that pop when Haku was pinned has to be one of the loudest WM pops of all time and 2.) Andre gets a warm and most deserving send off. Otherwise, nice work, sir!
do Royal Rumble next
My only 2 ple I went to are wrestlemaina 26 and Royal Rumble 2019. Great times
23:20. Nice reference to an underrated Ruthless Agression Tag Team.
40 Ups 40 Downs lol perfectly balanced💀
Jesus Simon! I posted my size improvement via strength training and now i see you and youre looking SWOLE. Dope. Oh and was wondering when you'd do this style ups and downs.
Snoop deserved a golden up for that save
Simon, you missed the opportunity to give Sid vs Taker at WM 13 a BROWN DOWN for very obvious reasons
Wonderful
Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan was the first wrestling match I ever watched when I was a little kid and he just booted him in the head and it ended immediately and I was so confused on what wrestling was😂😂😂
i love how everyone universally says WM26 was HBK’s final match😂
1:20 That match was a setup match for the rematch with Tito Santana and the house show loop they went on $$$$
Should be noted that Bundy pinned SD Jones at the first Mania in what was BILLED as 9 seconds, when it was actually 21....time is kayfabe!
Why is your t-shirt logo GWFL instead of GW4L? I’m gonna steal it as GW4L!
Incredible job as always Simon
Leave it to Simon to drop a banger like this 💪🏾💪🏾
Impressive that this video was only 36 minutes long
9:59 That got shortened and the 8 man got cancelled due to the length of the ladder match.
I love wrestling. A ton of your ups would be my downs. Gotta love something for everyone
I'd actually go with Headshrinkers/Steiners for WM IX's only Up...
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Simon give a Brown Down.
YOU RULE SIMON
S/o to you if you caught Simon’s 3 Minute Warming reference lol
Agulia vs Taka was incredible and it made it to the mania card . The one of little decent things they did with that belt and you give it a down ?
Honorary Brown Down for WM34. I paid $1200 for floor seats and I was mostly disappointed. Asuka lost her streak. Shinsuke should have won. DB return was great. Being in a crowd that was rebelling against the main event was weird but definitely a moment. Takeover was dope tho!
Beniot winning was one of the best matches of all time hands down
Corbin v Drew at WM 38 will ALWAYS piss me off for the reason you stated.
SIMON FOR EVERYTHING
WrestleMania IX's Up should go to The Steiners Vs. The Headshrinkers. It was the best match of the night for being the only one that went a decent length with a good ending.
And WrestleMania XXXVIII gets a brown down for The New Day Vs. The Brawlings Brutes. It was bounced from one night to the next so Vince could indulge in himself. It was only given less than two minutes. And The Brawling Brutes won. This match took place a few weeks after Big E's injury. Kingston and Woods came out in Big E singlets...
I thought Austin was using the million dollar dream as his finisher when he was the ringmaster? That's a submission hold no?
i hoped the down for 17 would of been the RTC theme
Wrestlemania 36 fire fly fun house was so good same with the boneyard match
I think everything during the pandemic should get a Golden Up.
I saw the title and immediately click on the video
It's a shame that Andre vs Hogan, is also on the cover of Mania 4. It should be Ted & Randy
Bray should've won at WM31 but the brown down should have gone to Sting vs HHH lol
What bout Charlotte vs Rhea at wrestlemania 39 that was good Match imo
Are you ever gonna do wm 21? Youve done everyone surrounding it but not 21? Its hands down my favorite one so im just curious tovwatch it
Simon Miller is a treasure
