Alaska Lesson: Alaskan Mittens with Marty!

I walked into the office and asked Marty Van Diest to do a video with me. A little begrudgingly he agreed and decided mittens would be the hot topic of the day. Hi from Northern Sweden! I have been trying to find a good solution for gloves /mittens and sew my own from moose skin with a wool layer and rabbit fur inside. But they are still not warm enough some days. We get -10 to -37°C. I am not sure if I can get beaver fur but I might try a down feather version next. I sew a down sleeping bag and that works great until -20 °C. What is your experience with down mittens?
