Thanks for the tips I'm about to do my water pump today I haven't seen any leaking but it's started to make a whining sound over the past few days kinda sounds like power steering sound you would get.
Thank you for the video. I have to change my water pump in my 06 Equinox and this will be my very first time doing it. You made it so easy looking. Looking forward to letting you know how I did.
Jamie There is a weep hole in the pump and if it’s leaking then it drips inside the pulley and drips off of the edge of the pulley. You might check that.
Randy Templeton so I jacked up my equinox and was in the process of doing a coolant super flush when I noticed this was leaking just the way you described. I don’t think it’s the water pump though and it only seems to happen when it’s jacked up... any ideas?
Hi about a little over a year ago i paid almost $1200.00 to have the heater core and thermostat replaced in my 08 equinox, now its over heating and there's a nice leak in the same area that you stated where the water pump is located, do you think i should have the water pump replaced.
Couldn't find the short 3/8 drive extension, so I had to remove the motor mount in order to get to the tensioner with the long serpentine belt tool. If anyone knows the part number or a link to the short version, I would be very grateful.
Thank you very much for this video. I was able to get my water pump on.
This was a very very good video

Thankyou for your help, what's the tool called for tensioner bolt
@@SteveBoudewyn Serpentine belt tensioner tool.
Thanks it's helpful
5/16 hose fit perfect on drain
Did you use any gasket sealer with the replacement gasket or no? And this video is very helpful by the way
Jason Haynes Thanks. The gasket alone should be fine. I usually glue most gaskets on with Gaskacinch to hold it in place.
What's torque spec for the bolts
Love your dog
Thanks! He is a sweet dog.
I didn’t mark the top mount. Is there a way to figure out alignment on the new part by placement of the noches?
Yes. Or compare the old part to new and see if you can tell how It fits.
could you please explain ,WHY YOU CHANGED WATERPUMP
It was leaking coolant out of the water pump weep hole or the seal, which is behind the pulley and will drip coolant onto the belt.
My only question is what water pump did u buy
Sorry, but I do not remember. Probably O’reillys or AutoZone.
Great video 👍
How many miles when you did this? I am about to do this on my '08 3.4L Equinox with 89k miles. What color coolant did you replace it with?
Jamie It had 188,000 miles on it. Use Dexcool or universal long life antifreeze.
Randy Templeton thanks Randy. I guess it’s the age and not the mileage in this case.
Randy Templeton well it’s not the pump. No evidence of leaking at the pump body. So back to the drawing board.

Tamari Mitchell Sounds like the water pump could be leaking. You need to have it checked out.
U don't need to add rtv sealant ?
You could, it wouldn’t hurt. If the gasket surface on the housing is not pitted then gasket should be good enough without RTV.

Hi I have a question.....was it overheat? I am having a overheating problem, trying to rule that out...
oh14 Was not overheating. Was leaking out of the weep hole. May need a thermostat. Is the coolant level full?
Don't let him drink any of the any freeze
Yea that tuel wld be nice
