Bro I just started playing rise like a couple weeks ago and have recently reached the afflicted monsters stuff in the game and dam I am glad I watched this vid and saw ur comment cuz I main S.A. and holey cow that armor set really is godly for this weapon I might switch one of the pieces for something with better decoration slots but other then than that I am ecstatic
I have a Kaiser crown with a Decoration upgrade from Qurio crafting (so one 2 Slot, one 1 slot, one 1 slot). Didnt know that Decoration up was so rare, i get it fairly frequently. As Gunlancer most of these skills in the video dont affect my damage, extra Affinity is nice because with Masters Touch i basically stay in Purple more which does actually affect Shelling. Not sure if i should slot Sneak Attack, i usually try aiming for the head of the monster as it has a high dmg multiplier for Shelling (according to the ingame Hunter Guide at least), i feel like aiming for the back would negate the damage.
Golden lune and silver sol are my current fave set. Not thinking much about stat or elemental.... Not that good at min maxing. If a set already give what i needed. Then good for me..
I'm kind of a mh snob, so I kind of prefer using a complete set of the same monster. I did the min max in world and it just didn't feel right. I worried too much about it. The guy that got me into mh way back in freedom unite was totally against mixed sets cuz it made your character look stupid. Even though we have layered armor I still use full sets in his memory lol
I actually started making such video but ended up scrapping it as there so many good rarity 8 pieces that become insanely good with the right augments and it became hard to track it all and not sound repetitive
I don't trust my memory so much on this because I changed this mix set a lot and I reset to use my proper name on my save file I think my mixset was like Magna CB Kaiser X Malzeno Dignified Kamura Squire Crit eye 3 partbreaker 2 with a level 2 slot Even if I got it wrong I remember getting like 90% affinity Handicraft and razor sharp Evade window and rapid morph because I'm bad And bloodrite because I loved air dash spam
Using a bit of this and a bit of that for different sets and weapons. Archfiend and Malzeno armors are really fun, also the sets from update 1. Astalos set and Lunagaron also have some good pieces, as well as running Golm bracers for GS for the 2 focus
Chain crit, beyond lvl 1, is considered pretty bad for most builds to be honest. It's not worth the loss of other stats for the miniscule buff it gives.
For me, it depends how fast you can stack it. A spread bow, or dual blades can stack it very fast, and it gives bonus to element as well as physical damage. I like to use chain crit by rolling it with Qurio crafting, since it is fairly easy to get it with some other bonus.
So why are level four Jewls unwanted on sets? I kinda figured that the higher the level the better, but im also not proficient at making meta builds so im sure there's a good reason.
because currently there arent the extremely good tier skills like attack boost, crit boost, WEX, crit eye etc in level 4 so generally a level 4 is worthless and just used as a level 2. When they add in those decorations tho level 4 will be very good and we probably wont have to rely on qurios crafting so much
Anjanath coil low key under rated after qurios crafting if your lucky you could get the 2 1 slots to 2 slots and get 5 attack point due to the extra slots and if we get an attack 4 slot it could be 6 points

If you use Gunlance like I do, focus on these skills: Load Shells, Artillery, Razor Sharp (Master Touch is same) and I like to slot in evade extender.
