@@seaweebjoc Things could be so much worse. It’s upwards of 1 million dollars for a duplex or townhouse in Vancouver, BC. Single family homes like the one in the video would be closer to $2 mil. $820k for an entire house will never happen in some areas of the US/Canada.

@@iriemonmon Just trying to put things into perspective. I’m saying I’d love the chance to buy a house for $820K in my city, because you literally cannot buy one for less than $1.2+ here.
The kitchen is beautiful to look at but I would never pay 800k to not have cabinets or a pantry. I also don’t know who she is but I’m guessing “blue” is part of her brand, but man, this house could use some color.
Soft neutrals and bright white is what’s in style today.
@@xotennisxgirlox according to some home channels on RUclips, white and neutrals is very 2018. Bold, moody colours are coming back.
This house looks like a house you would find in the English countryside, everything is just like a cotswolds home.
They should amend this series to something like "this is how much I make...here's where I live" because idek how much you have to make to afford an 800k house.

I did with my ex and ended up keeping the apartment and buying him out. I would never own my apartment if we hadn't bought together.

@@melindahmkhwanazi We had written a contract beforehand and split amicably. It would be no different if we were married, but laws in the US are probably different than in Norway.

The home itself is obviously very beautiful but the white, on white, on white just feels like a sterile old school insane asylum. Nothing cozy and inviting about it IMHO

Housing costs continue to skyrocket in NYC suburbs. Cousin purchased a house like this in Madison 25 years ago for $350,000.
At least one of them is a lawyer. I saw law books on their shelves.

She worked with what she had and it's nice, but I personally wouldn't buy a house that didn't have cabinets or a pantry. Open shelves in a kitchen is way too inconvenient to maintain to make it look nice, especially with kids. Also, all that white isn't kid-friendly. I like lots of natural wood, warm browns, cream, gold, and bronze. I like a home that's cozy, inviting, and that gives you a big hug when you walk inside.

That is so expensive for what it is. I expected much more. I know prices are inflated but pre-COVID a house around me for the same size would be $250-300 MAX. That being said, the place is lovely and very cute.

I'm sorry, but it comes off as extremely entitled to say "we had a definite budget of close to a million dollars". Most people can't even afford a home 1/10th the price they paid.

let me tellyou somethig NEW JERSEY IS EXPENSIVE. Rent here is 1,500 for a 2 bedroom apartment. If you are close to New Yorkist gets even more expensive so

Oh wow sounds like living in Chicago but that price is for usually a studio apt or certain areas for a one bedroom. Greatful I live in a small big town in Wisconsin. Moved here 5 years ago and the 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom with a garage was $650 until last year with the stupid inflation from covid , it’s now $725. The other apts around here , are now going for over $800 a month. Renting an actual house is barely an option now most are only selling, not renting.
@@lina-uj6uh Westchester County, NY. Its ridiculous here. To get affordable housing you either have to be a senior citizen or poor. There’s no in between.
That’s the average price for rent here in Miami but if you want to buy, for $850k you can buy a huge house here.
