I swear I see you almost everywhere, you are more popular than some youtubers yet you have a few thousand subs.
In this episode, everyone is excited about having a game night. It's even implied that it was Peter's idea, and everyone is happy and having a good time. Years later they did another episode where Lois is trying to get the family to play games, and every single one of them just instantly declares it as the worst thing ever. It's like nowadays none of these characters are allowed to be likable, and most of the time the characters all have that exact same eyes half closed, completely uninterested look on their faces. And people honestly wonder why so many fans prefer older episodes of Family Guy!
You’re totally right. Nowadays, the writers have given up. You rarely get a decent episode.
Back then, almost every episode was gold and had many good jokes.
I wish FOX (or Disney) would allow fans to write in ideas for episodes. There was a point when they did do it, but that was over 10 years ago.
I bet fans like us could whip up a better episode idea in 5 minutes than the writers at Family Guy.

Like he just gave up on the series long ago, but knows that it still makes money, so he just lets the writers do whatever they want and just comes in to record his lines. It sounds crazy, but that makes way more sense than the idea that Seth see's this stuff and approves of it
