Hi Tony thanks for the tips. I have just gone down to the nearest building site to me and took down his scaffolding netting, he is the one who will now have the caterpillars, cabbage white butterfly not me thanks to your tip. 😀😀😀😀
Debris netting works fine until they reach the top of the netting arch. Next year it will be micro mesh. Truthfully it is the ONLY netting that stops the cabbage white in it's tracks.
You're right. I have to do a better job with netting my brassicas. I lost a couple of overwintered ones. Incidentally, I use black tulle. Thank you for the wonderful tips.
Hey Tony, Very nice tips for the brassicas. I am just getting some finished and starting the new ones and transplanting some on so just all part of succession sowing this year. I am harvesting cabbage I planted in "MARCH???" how crazy is that it has taken all summer to grow in the full sun 20 days above 90 F this summer??? just bonkers. I tossed out all the rule books this year! Take care Cya next time thank you so much for this video
I have suffered from white fly. They have decimated my Brussel leaves.I stripped all the leaves back and rescued them quite well.Must get scaffold netting for next year.
Excellent tips Tony. I must look out for scaffolding netting. Last week I did a couple of trays of kale and cabbage to go into compost bags on the polytunnel staging. I will have lots of salads and other greens too. I have some biggish cauli, kale and cabbage to go out when the cabbage whites vanish.

Here in the mid-Atlantic coast of the US I‘ve just transplanted out my first brassicas (four different varieties of pak choi and some broccoli rabe) with my purple sprouting and calabrese-style broccoli going out this evening. Tatsoi will probably be planted out next week.
Can’t find BT ….. the usual online shopping websites are a no go….any ideas. Don’t really mind the cost if it lasts. Used Nemasys and worked a treat but clearly missed a pesky one as decimated them 😞

You seem to have a lot of whitefly on your plot Tony.
You mentioned the netting but not what the hoops are ? Are the blue ones better than the black hoops?
