Its more about what kind of things people say in response. You get stories from people where something similar or inverse to the fictional scenario might have happened to them, funny jokes about the story, and other things. Or you get a lot of "its fake lolololol" like we don't know that
@jesster402 listen, I wouldn't care if it was fake if they made it clear that it was fake and if they actually put it in a story format. It's more of the way they tell their stories with--

Man, I have a similar story. There was a girl who was my friend since first grade of elementary school. When I entered high school, I started developing feelings for her, and I declared to her. She said that she was sorry, because she was a lesbian, and that she apologizes for not telling me earlier. Whatever, I just sucked it up and stayed as friends. One month later, he starts to get really close to one friend of mine. I remember him saying that he was developing feelings, and I told him "sorry, man, she's a lesbian"...his heart sank a little. Anyway, I stopped being friends with her, 'cause we had nothing in common anymore, and one year later, she starts dating my friend. My friend literally straightened a lesbian.

Commenting because is too close to home for me. I S*** you not, I’ve had no less than 3 gay girls want to go out with me. They were also very straightforward about asking. No mistaking it. Which, 3 isn’t a lot, but it’s more than I would have expected.
