Did I miss any signs of an addicted gambler?
Another huge sign (in my opinion) is your losses/amount played begins to little by little creep up over a long period of time. I look at myself, and 10 years ago if I lost $200 I’d be devasted. In more recent times if I lost $1,200 I’d just shrug my shoulders and say “oh well” We begin to get numb to what we lose over time, and it continues to crepp upward to the point that losing thousands is “normal”
Thank you for making these videos though, its helping put things in perspective and keep me on the better path, and thats very much appreciated.
Yes, if you steal money to gamble - a lot of these women living near our latest casino that opened 2 years ago have been caught embezzling from their employers to feed those blinking slots!
Here's one I question: Chasing that next level (or maintaining current) of rewards/loyalty club status. Are the perks worth it?
I would say going alone is a big one as well. When i was first introduced to the casino it was always with friends, but after a while i started to think that being there with people was just going to slow me down.
HuckFillary I don’t think “chasing” the perks are worth it. The perks just come with the territory. Realistically, once you really start getting big perks, you realize you’ve paid for the 10 times over with your play.
My name is Frederick and I’m a gambling addict. I haven’t placed a bet, or wagered anything of value to me in over 10 years. But there was a time when I would gamble my entire check on one throw of the dice. I’m not proud of that time in my life and my addiction almost cost me my home, military career, and my life. My question to you is do you still think about gambling? There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about gambling or the research I use to put into betting on sports. I use to conduct surveillance on athletes in Southern California to give myself an edge in betting. My name is Frederick and I’m a gambling addict.
Incredible feedback. Im glad you were able to let the life go. Hopefully things have changed for you for the better. Personally, I just love action and the possibility that come with taking chances. So I place that energy into my businesses. The casino isn’t a factor at all because it’s not that meaningful to me.

STAY STRONG! GODSPEED
Nice one, man. I have not have a drink in over 10 years now, I quit smoking. Now gambling is my only and most difficult addiction. I don't gamble a lot, but when I lose, it spikes my depression. It's nice to see a story of victory like yours. Thanks.
Gambling can be more dangerous than drinking. It can and does effect your mind. Suicide may seem like the only answer at times. GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS can help but so can therapy and medication. It can be overcome but will always haunt.
Gambling is a false escape from a deeper issue like depression. Addicts have tendency to wear the same clothes day after day because only thing that matters is that small adrenaline rush. Great video Anton.
Your dead on all those. What made me quit was when I realized i gambling my state of mind. One bad or good night at the casino would determine my mood for the whole next week. Quit.
Yup... completely disrupts your whole mood for days.
😔😔 so true
Anton Daniels You will have mood swings from building up all that rage from losing so much money. Having mood swings will cause you to burn bridges with people. My mother has mood swings and it’s not a pretty site.
An addiction to anything can cost you everything. Recovering drug addict, been sober for 8 months.
Congrats bro
I Just lost my twin brother from overdose smh stay strong and stay sober man 💪
Gambling is the worst u lose everything. Bad credit can’t get job or housing:(
Sign # 5 and 6, my ex was definitely those two. Learn when I got deployed to Iraq 03-04. Blew 85-90% of $30,000+ of that money gambling. My car got report, and she was hardly paying bills while I was deployed. Once I blacked out four months of coming back, I was about to make a fatal mistake, and end her life, but I stepped back, left with our two kids, went to the bank, and got bank statements from April 03- February 04, and my ATM card snitched on her. She didn't think I was that smart, and from there, relationship went down hill, and 06, we separated.
Having a gambling addiction is the worst! I've lost jobs, cars, apartments, and relationships. And still play poker. #insane
You can overcome it fam. Stay strong
So have i thats why i quit but now i do sometimes go but only take what i can afford to loose i went everyday now maybe 2 times a year
@@diarrheasplatter5105 good for you. I definitely don't go as much as I used to. Once or twice a month at the most. Never will I return to those dark days
Michelle Lewis clearly your shit then
@@ML_Problem_Solver 😁
Sometimes you have to get fed up enough to quit.
That’s 100 true
@@AntonDaniels I think you can get fed up enough and quit but overtime forget why you got fed up or make the excuse of just one time and gamble again. I think this is why GA is important
Totally agree with you!!!!
Playing scared is a major sign. Thanks for the video.
may be that person's first Time going🤷🏽♀️
@@Purplesunday1111 This video is about addiction not the 1st time gambler!!
I’m a former gambling addict and now see it as a horrible addiction. Let’s face it, the games aren’t that fun. It’s a constant chase for the prize.
No one ever got rich by gambling. Millions have gone broke gambling. Even big winners just gamble it back. I knew a couple who went broke gambling and won $500k. They were broke in ten months.
Sounds about accurate. No debate here 😉
Billy Times yes, this video is specific to problem gambling and thinking you can dip into rent money hoping to win more but instead come up short.
I love how RUclips plays an Ad encouraging gambling 🤦
I know, right?!
As someone who had a gambling addiction years back and hit my rock bottom when I lost 100K in 3 months and I had all ten of your signs met..I can share a few of mine: 11. Depression that causes you to not be happy unless your in the casino. 12. No longer feeling any kind of rush from wins or losses (stone face during win and loss).
I currently cannot go to a casino or Ill get triggered. Luckily those gambling days are behind me now especially since I make a lot more now and have ppl depending on me.
I can attest to what you're saying. I no longer got a rush from wins or losses either. Glad you turned the corner my friend.
Great video! So true!
I was a compulsive gambler for years. This past December about 2 weeks before I sold some things to a friend for $400 to do Christmas shopping. I ended up losing it all at the casino an hour later.
That was the last straw for me. I haven’t gambled a dime since and here I am 3 months later and I don’t even think about it anymore. One thing I keep in mind that helps is even if I won $500 or whatever, how many times did I lose before that? I’d still be in the negative. I watch people scratch lotto tickets now and think of what a waste of money it is. It’s just a tax on stupid people. For every “big” winner there’s many, many big losers. I don’t want any part of the gambling life anymore.
Glad you kicked the habit
Congratulations!!!
Its the worst addiction to have because when you losing?even the most disciplined player will CHASE and keep thinking,,my luck HAS to change when it really DOESNT,,,at least with drugz or food you eventually get tired or full,lol..I've seen people urinate or damn near fall asleep STANDING at the crap table just because they didnt want to miss a hot roll!!
I agree
Yes exactly. If they had a taste of winning. Its over. Chasing the money! 😭😭😭
Casino's do not lose money they make money. Casino's always advertise about someone winning 5 million or 10 million dollars. Did that casino go bankrupt because someone won money. Not hardly. People gamble because they like the action not because they win money. If you are addicted you already know this. You can lie to the people around you but you deep down know the truth. What you want to do about this is always up to you. No one else can make you or talk you out of gambling. Its up to you.
Nah, there are other factors also
Some of those " winners' " are actually employees. And notice I didn't say all.
@@joesmolo4131 😮😮😮😮 what a sneaky tactic to keep ppl playing
That's real. I play poker for many reasons. Just feel bad now after a few losses, but when I'm up it's a blast.
Rollercoaster ride for sure, just trying to get off the ride now 😎
Ed530 actually some people gamble because they hope to win a decent amount. They may be disorganized with their finances, have a hard time saving up and when they need something, example a 3000$ vacation well they try to hit a few good shots to make that amount. It’s a very problematic approach to life but some people actually think this way versus well planning their budget.
I live in Las Vegas, sin city for sure. Video poker even in gas stations and grocery stores. It is mostly about will power when you are around it so much.I have made mistakes in life, we all have. Save your money for better things in life. Once you start saving the money that would have been spent, it’s easy to save 15k in 1 yr (with a decent income). STAY STRONG 💪
And stay focused
i only gamble penny mechine sometimes i have luck on zapp
mechine lol
I like this. I’m a truck driver I learned that I’m just bored out of my mind and just looking for some normalcy. I enjoy the social aspect of it all
That makes sense
I go for entertainment and the free pop, and especially seeing other's win cuz I'm too cheap to lose anything over $30🤣🤣🤣
This is something extremely hard to overcome. I have been up several thousand dollars and lost it all trying to triple my winnings. My biggest addiction is sports betting. I decided to close all offshore accounts and stop funding my account used for gambling. I'm only about 4 days in but i've been struggling with this for years.
You can do it. Good job taking the steps needed.
Nothing is a good substitute for gambling... except not gambling
One of my former coworkers is also a gambling addict that likes sports betting. He was bitching to me one time that he hasn’t bought any video game consoles since he first got hired. He’s also complaining about being broke.
I watched 2 videos of yours. First of all, cheers too you. Recognizing and admitting to others how to recognize issues and flaws. Great job man. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks fam
I love the video. I think you sugar coated the lies and deceit of gambling addicts. But I appreciate you talking about these topics.
You’re welcome
Gambling is not for everybody. Some people do not have self control. So when they lose. They end up chasing their loses. This makes them lose even more.
You’re so correct
That's 100% me. When i lose i try to recoup and dig further. When I win i try to maximize that.
@@lancesmith4660 Problem is when a person loses more than he wins. Ie. The amount he loses exceeds his winnings. But if one has more wins than loses then he can play everyday.
@@lancesmith4660 that me all the time. I feel ashamed.. i feel helpless and i have a problem and need help.
@@JonSuejoj nothing to be ashamed about. Lots of people have this problem. Instead try watching other people gamble instead. See if they win consistently. Then copy their style of playing. I am sure there must be winners out there. Maybe one or two out of 100 gamblers. Just make sure they win consistently before copying their method.
Or just gamble what you can afford to lose. Don't gamble all your money. Set aside 10% of your income for gambling every month. So in the worst case, you only lose 10%.
The difference between people praying in church and people praying in a casino is people praying in a casino really really really really really mean it.
That’s a great quote. I’m stealing it!
@@AntonDaniels my brother owes me 1500 dollars and when he gets his check, he doesn't pay me a dime and goes straight to the casino. It pisses me off.
@@tigerpawromero6173 chasing losses. Don’t really have the $1500 to give to you without it hurting his pockets so he try to kill two birds with one stone. Win the money to pay you and keep money in his pocket
You just opened my eyes.I guilty to every point you said.I always believe I can win the house.I lost all my money including my pentsion.Biggest problem for me is alchol.I become a fearless player after a few drinks.I cleaned my bank account last night.I did not even buy my food for the month. You are right I am in a space where I have a big problem.I am guilty on each point. It scares me what it is doing to my life.

Great video! I'm a teacher, a mental health clinician, and an addictions counselor - and I am a gambling addict. I only play 1-3 no limit poker, so I laughed at your honorable mention since that's me to a T.
I.e. "poker is somehow different because the opponent isn't the house"
Off to view your other "high roller" video.
Hopefully you can kick the habit. Thanks for the feedback
Appreciate your video, hits home.My story started when a girlfriend stole my life savings.Money I had been working and saving for 5 1/2 years to build my own shop and living quarters.About 30000 dollars, when I had gotten back from vacationing with my daughter and grand daughter. That day took the life of of me.I hit at 2 different casino and something clicked and hooked me.I was one of those who would win and win but then came the bad luck.I lost 1000's.Just wanted to share my story,I'm going to find some help with this because I can't do it alone.May God bless you, please keep up with the information.Thereso many of us who need help.
Praying for you friend!
Thank you for sharing this information. It's a real problem that people of all walks of life battle addictions of many forms especially gambling. Be honest about yourself and ask for the help you need. Power to you my brother
great points about gambling. EXCELLENT production values. Short FABULOUS music intro. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I appreciate you acknowledging the work out in
Playing scared is the worst feeling! I was never addicted to gambling but I had a goal of becoming a professional poker player. When I started, my bankroll management strategy was stupid. I ended up playing way too high, which essentially game me 0% chance of winning, due to playing scared. Then, I adhered to s strict bankroll. I was winning so regularly, I took time off work and managed to pay my bills. That wasn't smart either because NEEDING to win, is the surest way to lose in the long run, at poker. I stopped playing after the biggest poker site practically made it impossible to make a living out of it. I miss the game but I do not miss the stress.
I’m glad you stopped at least
You have great content. Thanks for making this video. *Another sign* Friends who gamble encourage gambling even when you are trying to avoid gambling.
Thanks friend... and you certainly need the right friends
I have a gambling addiction, so does my girlfriend. It's very difficult, sad, and depressing at times. I make good money, but with this damn addiction, I at times feel like a very poor person. For people who don't gamble will never understand how addiction can control your life. I pray someday I will completely stop 🙏
It a crazy thing to see
My mother is a gambling addict and she’ll lash out at me sometimes. It sucks when she has mood swings.
I pray you and your girlfriend has Quit, God bless
One aspect that needs to be addressed is how people view money. How much of an emotional connection they might have with money and how they manage their money can determine the quality of their decision making.
People who aren't addicted to gambling take care of their bills on time period. People who aren't addicted to gambling have balance in their lives. People who aren't emotional about their money, don't chase after losses.
Professional winning poker players (long term) don't waste their earnings from the poker table. They instead are frugal and careful about every dollar that is earned and hold on to as much of it as they can at all times because they understand there is negative variance in poker that is always just around the corner. They weather those storms.
People who are addicted to gambling, won't have the ability to comprehend anything that involves strict disciple. These are the very people the winning players devour at the poker tables.
You’re right to a point. I know very disciplined gamblers.
Gambling is entertainment to me pure and simple. I may lose $300 bucks in a poker game one night and then win $400 4 months later. I only play 6-7 times a year. I do feel bad for people who can’t control it. It is like alcohol, I can do it in moderation, but some friends of mine can’t. If you can’t control it then leave it alone.
It’s a disease for some
We live in a world of addicted people... why do you think they initially called TV shows TV programs? What is a program? Do programs work? I can tell you advertisers can calculate exactly how well they work... just look at the My Pillow guy... see... you know who I am talking about unless you dont watch tv... Anyway... look up video game addiction on you tube... there is an epidemic if we ever saw one... total indoctrination while living in the maximum download years of their lives. Its criminal what big pharma does to... programming people to get sick and buy their drugs by fear mongering. Dr Dispenza can e plain it to you. I Hope the world wakes up before we hit the tipping point... we may have already hit it.
" If you can’t control it then leave it alone" That's the problem. That's why you can't leave it alone!
Only a change of mindset can help you. And that, you sometimes have to get from someone who cares. Intervention time.
There are a lot of people who make money in the long run playing poker
Ryan i spend $1000 to $1200 a month.
Hey man, I just started watching your videos. I definitely appreciate the videos man. I am a bit of a gambler and I have definitely blown paychecks on gambling. My whole family has gambling problems. My mom recently wanted to commit suicide because she gambled so much and lost so much. I have gotten to the point where I am trying to get my life back. I still go every once in awhile to casino, but now I just set a little money to the side for gambling, and when I have enough money and go to casino, I live my debit card and credit cards home and only spend the money I had saved for it.
Thanks for the comment. You need to be the example for your family on how to make the change. They’ll follow in your footsteps
Sorry about your mom hope she is fine. I like to go to the casino too BUT I have to stop it's not funny anymore!!!!
If you do have a gambling problem, gradually spend less and less each time you go. Very last time, take only 20$ and play. You will realize, I just spent over an hour of my labor just to lose it in 5 min. Then the reality sets in.
Very interesting 🤔
Bull shit this works. U bender know what your gonna spend for a start
How i control my gambling habits. Let my wife control my finances. But make sure she is not a gambler herself.
🤔
Seeking help from a professional for your addiction should be a priority,
I'm alone, scared, it happened so fast, I'm only a few parts away from going in. But I realised it, I gave up drugs. 2 overdoses on year apart. But this is a new monster. Thank you.
Glad you found this video. You are not alone. We are with you my friend.
Anton's the best. Just real talk. Thank you 😊
Thanks fam
It's a big problem that people don't like to talk about, there are ways to stop, but it takes a lot of motivation and dedication. I've suffered for 10 years and what made me stop was just cold turkey and never look back. It's tough the first few times, but when you have self control then you will learn to overcome it.
Some people dont have the will power
I can't tell anymore how much I've won or lost. After some big wins and better consistency, ego starts and I try bigger stakes & we all know how that story goes...build up alot to lose it back after a while.
Gotta let it go my friend
Ur awesome man. Thank you for shining your light into dark places , and thanks for the luv...many blessings to you forever!
You’re welcome... I appreciate you
Having a gambling is the worst thing that happened to me , its took me to a dark place. Its caused me guilt.. When I have financial problems my family jump in to rescue me but not aware of my addiction... No one knows about my addiction.. Just me
You should try Gamblers Anonymous
How far uve come on this RUclips thing i remember watching this vid 4 years ago just came back to witness the progress💯💯💯💯💯💯
This guy didnt quit gambling in fact these videos make me want to get back there asap lmao

Thank you so much man,i really need to hear this,i fitted in every of this descriptions and had not realized i am an addict
Now its time to turn things around
Your videos are legit and I can see your channel blowing up soon.
We will see 🤞🏾
Back again this is great information
You know me 😉
Mr.Daniels watching this video specifically and just identifying with several of the signs youre addicted is bringing tears to my eyes I've blew so much money and wasted so much time on casinos I've risked loosing my wife and kids so many times as far as putting us in the hole and my wife having to pull up the slack I heartbroken over this and I'm not sure how this will play out
Bro... you can control the outcome from here on out. You must place your family ahead of how you feel and what you want. You might need to hit me up on IG fam
There are many outlets to channel your energy into and regain control of your life. Your family and mental/spiritual well being is worth 100x more than the trill of gambling. Reach out to people that have been through your struggle and ask for the help you need. Stay blessed my brother. Wish you well. Much appreciation to Anton for bringing this important topic to light.
Big C, YOU have to decide who you love MORE. Your family or gambling. Good luck to you.
God bless you, hopefully your life has changed.
Everything you said is absolutely RIGHT! Sharing this with people that need this advice. I used to chase my losses as well... bad idea!
Worst thing you can do
Wow! I needed to hear this. God bless you for taking the time to help the helpless and ungrateful (idiots here who saw your video but don’t appreciate it)
You appreciate it, and that’s all that matters love ❤️
Anton Daniels I love how easily you explain your thoughts. You truly understand our thought process. Appreciated. Would you please make a video on solutions? How to get out of this mess. At least your version of getting out. Thank you sir.
I’m already working on it... it’ll be about 2 weeks to release tho because I have another video dropping this Saturday. You read my mind
Anton Daniels Thank you. I’ll be waiting for it. I think that people who viewed this video are people who already know they’re addicts but wanted to hear for confirmation purposes but we also want to know of the solutions otherwise were left to feel helpless and useless as I think most gamblers already feel. I pray that everyone here comes to the realization that there’s hope and can find the will power to let go. It’s VERY hard but it’s worth it.
Your. Very honest
Very beautiful 💝
The Lonely mans addiction chasing the dollar at the end of a bet! Say this every time I enter the casino since I gamble a lot high roller on the machines!
Another good line I heard is..... it's my entertainment expense
Always
anton daniels you are appreciated.
I appreciate the feedback and love
So hard to stop. I keep telling myself but I keep going. They give so many free stuff. I have $1500 worth of free slots play, $800 worth of rewards credit, a bulova watch, free nights that only cost $5 each for state tax. These things i dont wanna miss and believe that ill just get these free stuff this month then im out. Then I always end up playing for hours and lose lots of money. I admit I have a problem, but I can never stop.
You know you need to talk to someone my friend. We have to get you into a better place.
@@AntonDaniels I know, but im a very private person. Its kind of embarrassing to ask for help. Im used to being a loner and dont even socialize in public. My current life cycle are home, work then casino. There are lots of instances that people say were right. Its depressing and suicidal thoughts go through our minds. The only reason I havent done that yet because I may go to hell lol. Good thing I still have my sense of humor.
You have to swallow your pride and do what’s in YOUR BEST INTEREST. They have anonymous programs where you can talk to someone and they won’t judge you.
@@AntonDaniels I went to one but its more depressing. People were crying and talking about way worse ans very serious things that they've lost. And each time theres a $50 fee to go. A friend of mine goes to an AA meeting once a week, then after that meeting, he goes drinking. So I believe these type of meetings arent for everyone. The one time I went didnt help me at all.
You need to learn how to play Baccarat. That way, you'll start winning and stop losing all the time. It's not too hard and will build your discipline for when you do decide to quit. Yeah, when you decide you don't want to win any more of their money. These guys all have great advice, don't they? But none of it lets you do what you REALLY want to do!!
My boyfriend is addicted to gambling. I miss him so much but I’m slowly getting the reality that’s he loves gambling more than me. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make this work but he gets so distant. It hurts because the real him is so incredible.. Anyway thank you, I want to understand this more but I realize it’s beyond my control. This video helped me understand the mindset a lot. Sigh.
You might have to let him go... otherwise he’ll ruin your life AND his.
Blaming others for one’s own losses. An example would be, when a new player sits down at a table, and the dealer gets a blackjack. That was random chance, however the gambler with a problem sees it as an opportunity to blame the new guy, when in reality, no one forced anyone to continue to play when another hand was added.
I’ve seen that a bunch 😂
I had a new dealer get 4 blackjacks in a row. I said "Dam you good" and walked away, but I didn't blame him it's just random.
Caught your video...actually going thru quitting something myself right now and your video definitely hit home and is an inspiration to stay strong....thanks dude
You’re welcome my friend
I hate when I end up doing cash advance on my credit cards to gamble. Done it yesterday $260 on my credit cards. Lost overall $1600 last night. Mad as hell!!!
Time to let it go my friend
#GOD bless you girl. Get close to him, He's the only way.
Gambling is fun when you win but it can and will destroy your entire life going back to the day you were born (and you didnt even know it was coming). Im a big gambler but i managed to leave it alone for good. I moved out town to a city with NO casinos near me. Now i missed it but i can realize i did it for good, for my self, my marriage, my kids. Im 36 yrs old, cars paid off, home valued at 300k paid off basically no bills to pay. Oh and no, im not rich!
Congrats for making the change. I’m so happy for you and pray for your continued success. You did the smartest thing ever by moving to a town with no casinos.
I hate #10. The 10 points apply to me but #10 hits me clean. I almost feel relief losing all my money and leaving so i dont have to be there anymore. Ive lost too much since i started going to casinos and only won once or twice. I feel like a looser.😳
That means your ready to let it go
#10 hit home for me too...time for a change ☹ peace be with us all
Good to see gambling addiction videos. Always so much help with other addictions but very little instruction for gamblers. Gamblers look like normal everyday people who can be hurting financially inside with no guidance. This addictive behavior can be very destructive to your life. Appreciate your videos as I am a gambler.
When you truly have a bad gambling addiction you are at the point of being willing to break the law to afford it 😪
I think there are levels, that is definitely one of them.
I just left the casino with more of their money!! 4 out of 5 winning sessions so far in July! 9 out of 11 winning sessions last month! I beat casinos consistently for small takes each time! Many small wins equal big money over time!! I take pleasure kicking the crap out of casinos!! I play for all the people that casinos screw every day!!
Sincerely,
Consistent Winner
I think you’re playing for yourself. It’s important to keep in mind the people who may read this. Even if your results are real, it isn’t realistic for the people who are trying to overcome addiction. Casino aren’t built off winners. You’re probably feeding into that perspective and doing more damage than helping. Thanks for the feedback though.
Anton Daniels sorry brother. Didn’t mean for it to be taken differently. Yea, I suppose casinos will continue to beat the general public no matter how successful I am at the casinos. I guess I’m just tired of people saying “the house always wins”... when I see it differently from my perspective alone...
Not hating..but overtime you will lose it all..take it from me...i beat the casino out of hundreds of thousands. In the long run the math will play in their favor...
I used to gamble all the time. I've lost thousands. Never hit a handpay. Was eating ramen noodles on the reg. It was definitely becoming an issue for me. But Now I just watch other people's gambling videos on RUclips. I'd rather take that money & invest in some stocks/bonds & grocery shop for the good food in the supermarket.
Glad you kicked that nasty habit
How are u CB same here 😊😊
Thanks bro! Love your channel, keep up the good work. Have fun on your travels!
Thanks
True story. The average person cant be gambling like Floyd Mayweather or Michael Jordan.
They are addicted also. Rumor has it that’s why Jordan’s dad died. No one is immune no matter how much you have
Thank you so much for making this video. It’s incredibly helpful. Subscribed !
I lost 50k option trading and also a fair amount on slots I’m 22 and struggling with the addiction.
You better learn to kick it now. You're still young so you have hope. Don't have this same issue next year.
Play Baccarat lol
Thank you Anton, so true
You’re welcome!
man i really value your video,i have a problem and i understand i need to get help.it was never fun and i just want it to stop.im almpst three years sober and i live in my car.i started going gambling a year ago, yesterday was my birthday,i am 44 years old.i am afraid of how powerful the urge to gamble is.my last visit was last night and i barely was able to practicly run away from the scene with very little.i am so thankful that it didnt take everything, because it usually does.im in salt lake city and i think there is a gamblers anonymous meeting on tuesday night,im going find out if it is still there.hey man tbank you, your video really hit me were i needed to be hit.i will look more into your vids.good day.
I think you’ll overcome and become better everyday. Stay strong my friend and keep in touch
I gamble but I have a formula
Pag my bills (rent,electricity,gas)
Put money in the bank for hard times
I have no kids
Whatever I have left usually around $200 that's my gambling & clubbing money once I blow that I'm done.
Why not just bank it and live and even better life
@@AntonDaniels because they explained what they do to enjoy their hard earned money. some ppl go for fun. maybe that's what they do. sounded responsible to me 🤷🏽♀️
Well put ! You seem like you are on the right track . Super nice video ! I'm glad you are sharing this so others can see.
Thanks friend... I’m trying to help people.
I believe you are ! Great work !!! Looking foward to more videos.
I think number nine is the biggest truth. If your losing and then trying to rationalize it all away in your mind your in trouble. Regardless, if the casino is generally always in your thoughts, or in the back of your head each day, no matter if your mood is high or low your addicted to gambling.
100 percent. I see it all the time.
Trying to double up the bill money is one of the main things that gets us for real
I’m playing scared when I have 5.00 on the table , it means I could eat lunch or not lol
People think they can make money from casinos is dead wrong , losers help pay greedy corporate stock holders and executives
That’s 100 percent correct
Anton
You should be Vlogging much more than you are. Keep giving it straight. Looking forward to the next episode. God Bless and good luck.
@ 14:44 "risking money to make money" describes every single person with a even a dollar invested in any stock on the market, but we call that investing! Just sayin... peace.
Nah... it’s completely different. I respect your opinion, but it’s a different mentality
The difference I observe is long term vs short term gains, going through an intermediary (broker) and what else besides odds? Investing is gambling and I've had very successful investors admit that personally to me. You're risking your money to make more, just as you said. All mentally considerations aside, it's apples to apples.
Unlike a Casino-when you invest in the stock market-you're not putting your money into a situation where you have a fixed house edge against you. Long term-you play Craps long enough-you're absolutely going to walk away a loser. It's absolutely predetermined. The same can't be said of the stock market.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
@@AntonDaniels agree. I am a rabid investor in the market. but I have 30k in cash right now I haven't allocated because I haven't found the right equity or options spread after lengthy enough research to invest. if you feel compelled to play with cash, don't do research, don't set entry and exits, don't minimize friction from your order executions and don't go in with a plan, you aren't investing you are gambling. if you use a scientific method, backtest your strategy, stay dispassionate about your investments and don't feel compelled to place the capital in the first place, you are investing. I spend more time worrying about loss aversion and sunk cost bias than I do feeding off the adrenaline of a stock move.
I have a sister who is addicted. and she said poker is not gambling it's a job.. she lost her car... she never calls but when she does she only asks for money. she can't keep a job and she becomes verbally abusive if you don't give her money. i wish i can help her...
What is the difference between someone thats addicted and someone that does it "professionally"? Speaking in terms of poker.
It's a bs excuse to say that they arent a degenerate. I started playing when I was 17. I am now 34. I stopped cold turkey for about a year now. Honestly, I dont miss it. It's good to do more productive things with your time. No matter how good you play, you will get screwed sooner or later. Those "pros" you see on tv or that know of are mostly broke. They are usually sponsored or loaned money. You wont believe how many of them are broke. Its difficult to stop at first, but the more time that goes by without playing, the less you miss playing. I used to play high buy in, no limit hold em for straight days. I dont miss wasting time at the tables. You miss so much from life at the tables.
Yariel said it best... ditto 🙌🏾
Ever since I was kid I knew if I was going to have a problem with something it would be gambling .. ahh .. it's not always bad. But I should definitely get this in check!!
Please do it... sooner rather than later.
I think I'm probably an addict. I can play poker for hours upon hours, stay level headed, and crush. But when I start to tilt, I get completely out of control. I'll go from decent profit from a day of poker, to losing everything at table games that I have online from one tilting hand of poker. Then I feel like smashing my head into a wall. And a few days later I do the same shit again.
Yes my friend, the emotional attachment and dedication to playing is a clear sign.
So basically you're playing poker for hours, and then start gambling and lose. Advantage play requires an emotional detachment from the money, and the results. If you're not an AP, or you're an underfunded AP, you shouldn't be playing at all.
Edit: I re read this and want to apologize. It sounded preachy and I didn't mean it to. I guess what I should have said at the end is play within your means. If you don't play at all, your bankroll will never grow based on your skill. You can have a replenishing bankroll, but a good measure of success is net positive EV added back to your roll. It will keep you focused, and on track. Set goals and keep ROR within your emotional window of comfort. Sorry if I seemed harsh before.
you are not addict - i had the same problems before- i play online poker too- you have problems with losing and bad beats- you cant control your emotions and tilt of your winnings- thats skill is called discipline - its hard to master íf you dont have experience
Tell me about it brother. Had this jackass go all in preflop with 5, 4 off suit. I had pocket As. Called all in and lost to trip 4s...
@@hidros1461 just ignore it, and move to the next hand i play like 50k cash hands a month, i have seen almost everything, if you cant control your emotions just find something else to do poker is not for you, thats the truth- control and discipline is everything, i have lost hundreds and hundreds of dollars becouse of tilt, and i know people that lost thousends and more. You have to control your emotions!!!
I love going to casino’s. I usually have good luck going, but I’m glad none of these apply to me. I believe the part that helps me is the closest casino to me is over a hour away & I know I won’t drive that far everyday
You shouldn’t go at all
I love going to the fantasy springs casino in Indio and the Barona casino for the buffet restaurants in California.
You last time I went to the casino, I had my worst poker session ever lost 1300 bucks it was horrible. Haven't played since then and that was Feb 14th.
Maybe that was a lifetime lesson. Perhaps it was a blessing that you lost.
@Vegas Mitchell Ya thinking about going today infact. Gotta get back on the horse.
Don’t do it!
being from Detroit and retired I am amazed that a great number of people have issues. The one that is a true signal is this grab a drink sit by a ATM station and watch how many people use multiple cards to cash out if the first 2 didnt work the third withdrawl probably wont either
🤔 that’s interesting
black jack and slots will eat you up...gotta play poker and craps....and bet the rent money on banker in baccarat occasionally. ...not red or black.
Don't play poker with scared money.dont play bingo or slots at Indian reservations....do buy smokes there though casino Seneca new York best Indian smokes in the nation...if you lose and feel so sick you don't even get your free buffet on the way out..you may have a problem.
Or just don’t go at all
Bwahaha....occasionally bet rent on banker
Another great video Mr Daniels, thank you for sharing
One more thing... I dont get casino cards... I win my comps... I am not into casino socialism... aka.... bribing players with comps is how casinos build an addictive clientele base. If they comp people to much the give away to much.. . If they comp to little people wont return as much and revenues will decline.... this is why they want you to have a card that they can track your play with... so that can calculate the proper comp percentage for each player based on how much they lost.
Cards give insight into playing habits
some ppl never use their card🤔
I always use my card and lose, yes I’ve won sometimes on slots using my card but have won wayyy more without it🤔🤔 I used to like craps but can’t beat the game, now I’m a slot head. Haven’t been in two days but the temptation is there!!
One sign is when you make really good money but you spend many nights eating ramin and drinking tap water trust me I've done it. Or when you tell someone your going to the store to get something to drink and you come home the next day broke.
Yeah, those are pretty bad signs
When you're looking for a higher paying job just to accommodate for your habit better.
That’s a good add on
much love for the honesty feelin pissed for not cashin out 50 profit i had and ended up spendin the money i had my choice tho defo taking a week of after watching this also drinking and gambling is not a good mix
Not good at all fam
Since Biloxi has nothin going on except casinos....have you played at all on your vacation down there?
Nah, not even interested. Being off the ocean, 70+ degrees versus Michigan weather, traveling to New Orleans for Mardi Gras which is an hour away... more than enough to do 😉
I always pay bills first before going to play at the casino and gamble only what I can lose and I stick to it even if I win casino money I spend the winning money only don't touch extra money from my paycheck and I stick to it
or you can choose not to take the risk of losing at all and truly learn to enjoy the full paycheck. just a suggestion.
I cannot go into a grocery store without buying atleast 2 Lotto ticket. I spend an average of $20-$25 on tickets a week. also I justify my spending, chase my loses sometimes and feel I can quit at anytime but I haven't been able to stop yet. am I addicted?. I read some of these comments and I don't want to offend anyone whos blown way more money than me on gambling but I just want to know if I really have a legit problem.
Yes, you are addicted
I spend more than that at the casino a month i know i spend about $1000 to $1500 a month
Gambling and addiction is permanent. Find your in between....don't drop your guard and stay in front!!!
Nah, I don’t think it has to be permanent.
@@AntonDaniels behavior towards gambling can change.......but if it's in your blood you will always be a target. You may just roll an addictive nature into something else that can cost you.
There's an urban legend that Michael Jordan lost millions because of gambling addiction and had to play baseball to pay his debts lol
He had to quit basketball because of the mob and his father was killed as a result of his gambling
Thanks from my shitty town in Australia of about 3000 people, all people do is gamble. I’m in deep but do appreciate the vid. You made me realise I have a addiction. Step 1. Peace
Everyone gambles 🤔
I just lost all my money 16 k in 3 weeks I’m depressed worst addiction Eva
Time to seek help my friend. It’s a hard pill to swallow and difficult conclusion to come to when you realize how your life has come to this point.
The good news is that you realize that you have a problem and there are resources available. DM me and I’ll try to point you in the right direction 🙏🏾
Anton Daniels I’m dead inside bro
Van Wijk TV tell me about it bro I’m in 6 k deabt now after loseing. 400k in 6/7 years I’m dead bro the fukdt thing is I love going there and miss it and keep thinking I can win big again
2 SUSS you need to quit gamble. Focus on your job or other hobby.
Rara Rara lost everything I'm dead inside man
Before watching this video I was terrified I was going to have all 10 signs already, that’s how I know I’m addicted.
Makes sense 🤦🏾♂️
Thank you Anton. Very good video and I agree with all you said. One question - do you think someone who has a gambling problem, realizes it and quits for a long period, but then tries to gamble responsively and only once in a while, can keep it under control? This is happening to me. So far I have been gambling occasionally, set a limit, and kept to it, and never betting too much. The thing is - I enjoy it, not for the winning, but the social comradery(sp?) with the dealers and the players. I would play for fake money if I could. Not as interested in winning as having a good time. What do you think?
I think that you’re just managing and not fully committed. It’s 100 percent mental. Once you really commit, it doesn’t mean much of anything to you anymore.
I really enjoy playing the slots. I use to win alot at this one casino and was up 50k for the year for an example....these 10 particular machines were paying out several times in one evening. This was right before they changed over to the tickets instead of coins. Slots haven't been the same since.
🤔
#11 I’m only going to use my free play.
😂😂😂
How much did you lose to get free play?
I love gambling/gaming and I see signs of my own addictive behavior but I don't think I'll cross that fine line where I will risk rent money or any other monies other than entertainment. But I do itch to go sometimes which makes me fearful of possibly gambling with money that I do not have. That itself is the risk and something I think most people live with.
