  • On a table inside Jean Hargadon Wehner's home in Howard County, sits a rock with the word "Courage" carved into it -- right next to a picture of Sister Catherine Cesnik.

I am from Greece and I recently saw the documentary about this case on Netflix. I was really shocked by everything that happened to the students and about the death of the nun. This priest was a monster !! Congratulations on the courage and bravery of the women to say what happened

Jane Doe is a victim of "repressed memory therapy" from the 80s and 90s, and in 2017 there was actually scientific proof the the priests DNA didn't match Sister Cathy's body.

    • @charlottesnarktimes3242
      @charlottesnarktimes3242 3 года назад

It's probably not wise to believe them since a 2017 DNA test showed that the DNA found on the murder victims didn't match the priests. ALSO, this all started in the 80s and 90s. Jane Doe is not well. She is a victim of repressed memory therapy. Netflix has done something deeply wrong by allowing so many people to be manipulated by this one woman's delusions and leaving out huge swaths of the actual story (which you can find on line if you look for the case from the 1990s)

@@charlottesnarktimes3242 I do believe most repressed memories are false, however, in some rare instances, the memories can be real.
Her story was corroborated by other people and supported by some other evidence. I do think the documentary should have touched on this. To exclude it seems very biased and makes it looks less credible. Still, I believe this woman. Look at all the transgression and crimes within the catholic church. I can no longer practice catholicism in good faith. It is sad.

@Lori June I am no longer catholic. I can not and will not give money to anyone who covers up child abuse. All the money I gave to the church covered legal defense teams for priests that should have gone to prison. I will not look back until priests can marry and until the church is no longer a place for pedos to go and hide.

They would lose alot of worshippers. which means that they will lose alot of money from who they collect it from. There the richest Church in the world they dont fund themselves. Church aint about god or jesus its a business now.yes they do mention god and jesus but the dollar is king to the Church. Jesus didnt get paid an hourly rate or a salary when he preached.Churches have been corrupted no matter which Church you go to.

I just finished watching the series. All I can say is I hope Jean and all the survivors find peace. It's hard to imagine anyone, let alone a priest, doing these things. The statute of limitations absolutely needs to be removed. At least that monster died at age 62 and can no longer hurt anyone, but unfortunately there are more like him out there. God bless, Jean.

I just watched the Netflix series and I feel so sorry for those children and the murdered nun and how it was all covered up by the police and the so-called men of God. And to think that these things still go on to this day is sickening. May God bring justice on all of them.

Did anyone consider a Masonic connection as to one reason why the priest was so protected? One of the detectives (in charge) referred to the priest as “one of us,” because he was their counselor. On the highest levels, they literally sell their souls to satan for success and have to preform all sorts of vile initiations and rituals. In my town, the Masonic Lodge is right next to the police station. Another thing that clued me in is how the police were in on the child rapes. Masons have a deep life/death bond to one another. It certainly would explain why the evidence kept turning up missing, and why other roadblocks kept on happening.

      Statistically, everyone knows a Paedophile,
they are just not aware of it.
Thankfully, a work colleague of mine,
learned of her future husbands "activities"
on the eve of her wedding day.
      I knew him socially.
      We all "rallied" around her,
      we were all supportive.

Here are some points from a medical article for you
It was found that 34% (n = 190) of master’s-level psychotherapists and 23% (n = 48) of PhD psychotherapists agreed that traumatic memories uncovered via hypnosis are authentic. Moreover, 59% (n = 513) of clinicians agreed that “events that we know occurred but can’t remember are repressed memories” (Yapko, 1994a, p. 231). Yapko (1994a) also found that 49% (n = 419) agreed that “memory is a reliable mechanism when the self-defensive need for repression is lifted” (p. 232). Dammeyer, Nightingale, and McCoy (1997) found that 58% (n = 64) of PhD-level clinicians, 71% (n = 74) of PsyD-level clinicians, and 60% (n = 43) of MSW-level clinicians agreed that repressed memories are genuine. Merckelbach and Wessel (1998) detected an even higher percentage: 96% (n = 25) of licensed psychotherapists endorsed the view that repressed memories exist.
Magnussen and Melinder (2012) surveyed licensed psychologists and found that 63% (n = 540) believed recovered memories to be “real.” Kemp, Spilling, Hughes, and de Pauw (2013) demonstrated that 89% (n = 333) of surveyed clinical psychologists believed that memories for childhood trauma (such as sexual abuse) can be “blocked out” for many years. Patihis et al. (2014) found that 60.3% (n = 35) of clinical practitioners and 69.1% (n = 56) of psychoanalysts agreed that traumatic memories are often repressed.
Get your facts right, good day
