    Unless something goes extremely sideways, PWHL Minnesota will be drafting Bilka in the first round and Boreen in the second. I would be shocked if Abby Boreen stays on the boards past the second round. She has good chemistry in the locker room already, having played with Taylor Heise for years & been a reserve for Minnesota in the playoffs in 2024.

    Round 4 is where it will get interesting. The fun starts at 7 pm. Does anyone know where to watch it?

    Rumour has it Ottawa is focused on Europe. The top players are evenly divided between us, US and Europe with 25 players each.

    Kessell will end up with Keller and Knight in Boston. Take that to the bank.

    Whoever drafts Gosling must craft the deal to include her cousin too! 😂

    we need more teams. there's talent banging down the doors and there's just not enough space for it all

    • @gamedayhockey
      @gamedayhockey  5 месяцев назад +1

      True, there will be some players that are dropped or not signed, and then possibly return in two years when the league expands. They are trying to figure out if those players might go to Europe or elsewhere as a kind of "minor league" or holding place to play. It's complicated!

    • @markd8469
      @markd8469 5 месяцев назад +2

      No we don’t. There is not enough scoring as it is! Games that are 0-0 after regulation time or 1-1 shows a lack of skill and creativity on the offensive side of things. The league Definitely needs to go to 4 on 4 play in overtime! These double. Triple overtime games are brutal, give the more talented players room to skate and show off their skills

      @@markd8469 Expansion is inevitable. They won't go 4 on 4

      They definitely should in overtime. No way these game should go into double and triple overtime. Open it up a little

    PWHL needs a cautious expansion. I would say eight teams. Where I cannot say. There is tons of talent out there. However they currently have about 240 players. 130 have registered for the draft including 30 top shelf Europeans, many of whom were under contract last year in Europe. That plus many very good NCAA and U Sports grads. SO tons of current players will be cut. Saulnier, Marvin etc. Kessel as great as she was in past her; best before date is here,she has all sorts of concussion and injury issues. Her time is , sadly, past.

      They are discussing how to handle the overflow of players who want to join while there are still only six teams… it sounds like a transfer agreement type situation will happen with the SDHL or similar, so that players can continue to play until there is enough opportunity in the league. Expansion will probably happen in 26-27.

    How can someone declare eligible if they do not have a university background, Is there any recruitment camp?

    • @gamedayhockey
      @gamedayhockey  5 месяцев назад

      Anyone is eligible to declare - as long as they forego their university eligibility or are not signed elsewhere. And there is typically an "out" clause for some who have signed with the SDHL in case they are drafted. It's still a work in progress.

      @@gamedayhockey and where could one reach out for this? I've been trying to get in contact with the PWHLPA and PWHL themselves without any responses, although I know my chances would be very slim, I'd still love to give it a shot in a camp

    • @gamedayhockey

      Klára Peslarová from Czechia and Gwyneth Philips from Northeastern are probably the top two. I'll have a list for you shortly. Raygan Kirk from Ohio State and Kayle Osborne from Colgate are also top prospects. 35-year old Noora Räty is also eligible! Rumored that Toronto likes Osborne.

    I don't care how talented she is, Britta Curl is toxic and any team that drafts her is going to have explaining to do to their fans (and their locker room - how you can be openly homophobic in women's professional sports is beyond me).

    • @gamedayhockey

      Apparently a lot of GMs are moving her up their list just because they think she might be an overlooked commodity.
