I just noticed that mines are WAY less abnormal than hotel Creatures here are more wild animals than anomalies, there less structural changes than in hotel, and there is no bizarre structures like wall with gap or maze in walls or weirdly placed furniture That may also be part of lore (probably)
that's what I noticed too. The Hotel gives me the Backrooms energy when it's a place that tries to mimic the reality, but gives something really off about it. The Mines are more realistic, giving more real life-like characteristics while still leaving the supernaturallity in I saw that The Backdoor is connected to the loor as well, but I'm not sure about The Rooms
to be fair, the courtyard is kind of a limbo itself if u think about it, a place where ur safe before the upcoming final challenge. it could just be that
Eyes and snare can spawn there. Screech, rush, and ambush can follow you there. Timothy can (I think) spawn in the bunker. Void can kill you if your friends run ahead. Hide can kill you if you enter the closets. The safest part is that it's not what comes after
I have a theory: when you go down the stairs in the lobby, you end up in an endless sea. when you DIE in the game, you get sent to an entire domain expansion with the guiding light, which is ALSO underwater. (seemingly.) is guiding light the one ressurecting you, bringing you back from underwater? (i understand the ressurecting part has probably already been theorized but think about this part:) like- guiding light just ressurects you from the bottom of the sea to speak to you before you rise to the surface. when you die, you're ressurected in the water, float onto the surface, go up the stairs and try again!
To add onto this, the reason you are at the hotel ( and mines and whatnot) is probably because since there is a decision awaiting, it’s probably a test. The more you overcome and learn these entities and locations the better odds you have of getting a good outcome after the limbo. This honestly makes sense, as guiding light now tells you incessantly to “come back!” And “don’t give up now!” As if you winning will achieve you something
Another question that arises is how do modifiers play in the lore? It’s clear that it has some sort of significance as it’s shown in the “painting” inside the hidden room in door 60, and in the generator puzzles.
^ Yea, watch the third Doors theory from the channel "The Game Theorists" (some of the theory may be stretched or inaccurate, but some of it have a good points)
Something interesting to note is that in one of El Goblino’s new dialogue quotes, he tells the player to immediately run away if the water turns black. This could be hinting at a new entity! Edit:It’s most likely seek, I’m just stupid
I thought it was just Seek coming. After the second chase is done, usually there’s water in the room. The water is black but eventually turns into regular water again.
I have a theory, Seek was created by the Red Light. Both don't seem to actually want to kill you. As seen in the minecart chase, Seek can out run you but simply choses not to and in the floor 2 ending, he saves you from the Grumble, exact reasoning is unknown. The Red Light also doesn't want to kill you, merely challenge you with the modifiers and is also likely the reason why some entities can break out of the crucifix, it would be quite boring if you could just send Seek away and get a few rooms done for free. Both glow red, during scenes with Seek, he glows red. Red Light also glows red. Reason 3.... uh IDK. EDIT: Guys I get it, Seek is so mad at the player that it kills the grumble so it can have us to itself. Shut up about it.
nah bro seek obviously wants to kill us, and the red light i'm not sure but why would it take away the power of the crucifix if not to affect us? also seek doesn't save us he wants to kill us himself, i bet he's angry since we escaped him for the first time because he hasn't stopped chasing us
ruclips.net/video/g2wzL33-Vuc/видео.htmlsi=9dvRisHlhTBeOyVh what i think after watching a few videos is that seek reall just wants to be the one to kill us, after all to me he was always a secondary entity in the hotel and figure was the main, but he's present even in floor two in various forms like the seek worm, the pile of goop etc in the dam room and the queen grumble who was supposedly supposed to be the final boss [maybe] was also infected by seek which makes me think seek wanna kill us himself.
@@LucaDoggy24Crucifix fail animation (Guiding Light’s restraints turn red, before the entity breaks free), blocked Rooms entrance when modifiers are equipped, and the supposedly nameless painting that’s actually called “Spacetime” in the files over by the Rooms entrance.
When I heard the word and it’s meaning I came up with a theory in my head that guiding light is trying to guide us to the afterlife since we are in a limbo, but we have to keep going forward to get there through the various doors Not that good of a theory but it’s still cool
this is actually a pretty good theory, it would make sense why the laws of physics don’t apply in Doors, because it is some trial or challenge to get to the afterlife.
ig limbo could refer to the first circle of hell? But we can somewhat back this up by seeing floor two and how the entities can be considered 'demonic' of sorts circle two being the sin of lust not sure if it ties into stuff but maybe floor three circle of gluttony could turn to smthing?
The hotel is in a very very VERY VERY TALL HILL AND IT FALLS SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER DEEP Underground that’s why and when your in the mines sometimes there’s ladder rooms and it gets you back up higher so I think that’s why you see courtyard like rooms in the mines so that’s why you hear rain cuz your almost near the surface
This doesn’t make sense though, since every playthrough has a different seed, and you could get a seed where you never go up or the garden areas spawn on 102
For me the biggest mistery in doors is the final room that we see at the end of The Rooms, we see many doors that are possibly portals to different doors floors that we haven't seen yet, or at least that's what i personally believe
I think as another comment has stated Curious Light is the one deciding weather you live or die (because of the painting). The hotel/mines are a test, and Guiding Light's job is to help you pass it. However the unknown Light's job is to attempt to make you fail. The only problem with this is if it's true that the unknown light is the modifiers, than you can also make it EASIER with them, which doesn't make sense.
@@hi-but-not-shadow-banned 💀 nah its fine. But it does not have a confirmed name so it probably is not in the files. But tbh, they will probably name it mischievous light because of how much the fanbase uses it and is already use to it
Ima just dump a theory that i thought right on the spot. Unlike what you have said, I dont believe that the hotel/mines is limbo but rather a rift in the universe/reality. Wanna know why? Theory 1: THE VOID. Think about it. If you were in a rift seperating you from reality or the universe literally nothing would make sence. The void is why the lobbys hotel is split apart. Its why you see the floating building parts. Why else would we go in the elevator if not to escape something? Escape death maybe. Theory 2: It functions like the backrooms. Think about it. Infinently generating rooms. Doesnt it sound like the backrooms? It would also be the reason why the entities have survived. It would also make sence how timothy is even there. It somehow got out of reality and found itself at the hotel. Theory 3. And the least likely.. its an abandoned hotel that somehow got infested with entities and the town it was in got flooded. Yep thats it. Il maybe update this in a little
I'm pretty sure the void just connects nearly every dimension. Rooms, Tower Heroes, Doors... And the dimension the hotel exists in is crumbling. The void is starting to cancel it out. Let it drift away from the other dimensions. Because if you play with more than 1 person, the void literally starts consuming the hotel behind you. In the backdoor sublevel, there are entrances to the void everywhere, in the form of a vacuum, pulling oxygen out of the hotel and into the void.
Well here’s some interesting lore. After dying to the vacuum you get told that the back door has been long forgotten and because of that some rooms just vanish hence the vacuum. It also says the back door is very old but not much older than the hotel.
I agree with the first one because when you die you kind of go to space to guiding light because we know that guiding light is a star OR a moon, when you die you see a blue moon, which is definitely guiding light, what other moon or light would be talking to you
If the world of Doors is limbo, then why is Bob dead inside of the Hotel? If he died to snare like El Goblino tells the player, wouldn't he have been brought back to life? And if he actually died, why is his corpse still in limbo? Wouldn't his corpse be brought back to reality?
I personally don't believe Doors is limbo, but instead, a dangerous set of domains being controlled or inhabited by powerful intangible entities and forces
@@LampCuprs but limbo is a part of heck, so maybe the player did something wrong and ended up in the first stage having all these entities to torture them. no wonder you can come back or revive
This is a big theory for doors but I think the hotel is a monster facility that is disguised as a hotel by mischievous light and the mines was actually just the mines but what ML didn’t know guiding light helps us
Yes and no. Yes, the courtyard is in a “limbo” position between the hotel and the greenhouse areas. No, You cant use this fragile piece of evidence to disprove this theory. Its like trying to cut rubber with only the handle of the knife. Your using a supporting piece of evidence, as an entire theory, to disprove an complete theory. Like having a leg of a table, and calling that the table. You need a actual theory first, then you can use this evidence to support that.
@@BottomofTheBarrel2 But doesn't my theory make sense? There is no other mention of "limbo" in the entire game. And this was only added recently. Since it is placed in the courtyard, my theory makes more sense. His theory is based off of a MAYBE. Mine is far more likely.
@@Pewterr Well, let me talk about my own theory: We know that there is a “guiding light” sort-of guardian angel figure, and these monsters attacking you. When you have the crucifix item equipped, they are chained, and pulled down into an unknown area. With this mechanic, I believe that these “entities” as the fandom calls them, are very clearly demons, or at least demon-like. We seem to Indeed be in a limbo, in between, heaven-like and a hell-like place. (im saying its “like” heaven and hell instead of just heaven and hell because its very clear that DOORS is not any existing religion, but it is similar in ways to christianity, and very different in others.) With my theory, what i think the story is, is this: We (the player) are dead. In our life, we somehow managed to be perfectly in between a good and bad person, we end up in limbo. a “Guiding light” Trying to guide us into a peaceful afterlife, while the “entities” are trying to drag us down into purgatory. thats my theory. If you don’t believe it, that’s okay, I only want to have a peaceful argument, So i do hope you are not mad in any way, If you or anyone else has something against my theory, i would love if you could share why i may be right or wrong.
Hmmm... For me, I can't pinpoint it directly if the greenhouse is indeed "limbo", because Limbo itself, for me, is the embodiment of two unrelated stages given without a clue of what happens next, more like the Doors itself, when entering another room, it can be the same room or different, such as that the loop starts to begin. If the courtyard was the limbo, as to what was said, for me, the reason why it was in front of the statue, is to depict the statue itself, not the courtyard, like how Museums pointing that the structure itself had also the written part in front of them. If to point it as the entire courtyard, being Limbo, it most likely destroyed several aspect honestly, like the courtyard being a part of the Hotel, as well as the Greenhouse, as a part of a single run.... Therefore, they are just one part of the game, which dictates a very detailed maze on the Hotel... For a bit of an evidence, you can actually find the intriguing structure of the hotel, from several rooms, infirmary, courtyard, dining hall, green house, and also the hallways, being aligned for an endless hotel... So, if it was just to named it, it just doesn't make sense at all, because it is a part of the Hotel, not just an individual piece itself.... (Just my understanding)
ohhhh I thought it just meant that guiding light is stuck in limbo and we need to free them from limbo in order to do that, we must go through the stages history, that's why we start at a hotel, move onto a mine, then to a castle, it seems like the periods of history.
Maybe we are going back in time? To (gather first thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu) see the entities come to life? Maybe they’re been there since the universe began…seek is dark matter???
@@Mr.Morton127Curious Light said something interesting about the Hotel. “The Backdoor is old… no older than the Hotel, but still old.” or something similar. This implies two things; the Hotel is very old, and either the Backdoor is younger than it (which would possibly fit your theory), or the Backdoor is the same age as it, which could potentially prove that the Hotel and Backdoor are supernaturally created as the Backdoor seems significantly older than the Hotel, having more dust and more fragile lights, and it seems unlikely that it was just built with dust inside.
the player and guiding light lived alone in a large hotel on a hill. the player kept to themself running from demons and infectious sentient goop while guiding light watched them ane helped and they were both happy. that was until the day guiding light left because the player went into the rooms or something idk.
While watching this video, I had a theory in my mind. Whenever the seek's cutscene occurs, it comes from the ground, which means it comes from the mines, that it is the main boss of floor 2 but an uncommon entity in floor 1, whereas figure is the reverse of it. When the seek chase happens in the mines, the cutscene has something on the ceiling. Maybe that's where he spawns in floor 1.
Well, if we count the endless sea outside the hotel, the fact that when we die we go underwater with guiding light. What if the player is still drowining and is "betwen" dying or waking up?
3:41 no no no, your all mistaken. the word limbo means 8 keys in a grid that move around and shuffle randomly, when they begin shuffling one key will flash green, that is the key you must collect, once the keys have finished shuffling you must pick the correct key to survive.
@@handle-isnt-available-001 I got more backrooms vibes when he said "outside of reality' ngl. Cuz like it adds up a lil, the backrooms is a place outside of reality, wif multiple so called "levels", most being named very generic things ot given a no. for the lvl. It mimics reality quite closely but u can see the obvious flaws in it. The hotel, backdoor, rooms, mines, those r generic names like wat sum lvls in the backrooms r named. They look like if the backrooms actually mimics reality properly. Not to mention we know of the existence of void n empty space outside the walls n boundaries of everything confirmed in the backdoor's vacuum, which is oso similar to the backrooms(This is not a theory i'm just yapping out wat's on my mind :))
One thing to note: Even though The Hotel is surrounded by void, The Mines isn't. As we can see after escaping it, we are in the wilderness. And we know that both The Mines and The Hotel are connected.
1:14 The Hotel is probably on the top of a a mountain, and in the Mines we walk out of that mountain, which is why we can see the surface Also, the new statue in the courtyard has a BIBLICALLY ACCURATE ANGEL RING, embedded on its head, if the game isn't going on a religious direction, I don't know where it is going to. Limbo is written on front of the statue, Limbo can also mean a purgatory, when a soul isn't condemned to hell, but also doesn't achieve heaven.
Hello everyone! I wanted to present a theory of mine, one that has really been in a head for a while and The Mines just proved it. Let's study floor one, the hotel. We know there's three lights, Guiding light, Curious Light and Mischievous light. They all reign over one realm and one is stronger in their certain realm. Guiding light reigns over the hotel and curious light slightly shares a part of it but not as much. In floor two, we can see that Guiding light, Curious Light, and Mischievous light share the realm equally. Guiding light seems stronger in this realm, Curious light has a bit of power in this realm but not as much as in the backdoor and the rooms. Mischievous light however seems to take almost an equal part to this realm more than floor 1. The three lights all power the generators throughout the map. Ever thought why seek may have this red aura whenever you're being chased? I've thought it over and over and the possibility can be true, what if seek is mischievous light? It's strange for only one singular entity to have a lot of power, especially shown where seek arrives from the sewers twice in different ways. Especially at the end where Grumble was ultimately killed by Seek, it just seems too good to not be true. I believe there was a once upon a time the lights used to be in harmony, they may have created these entities we know now. Mischievous light may be the reason why the entities are now corrupted and by assumption the entity most influenced by Mischievous light's power is seek. Regarding Halt I believe Halt may have been corrupted by the same light, surely must've been a creation of guiding light. Something happened and I don't doubt that this doesn't involve jealousy. But let me know your thoughts in the comments section! Thanks for reading! (If you reference this theory please credit me, thank you!)
I think another thing that supports this is also that outside in the lobby we can see platforms of concrete flying and the sides of the hotel which are broken and are also floating
a theory is that since limbo is the first circle of hell it could be more like the human world since its closest but as floor 2 is the circle of lust (ik if that really ties to anything) being the mines and having giggles and gloombats suggest this is a short glimpse of the hell of the doors universe we can maybe assume that referring to dantes inferno somehow the guiding light is a holy being of sorts with us in hell after nine floors coming back to the real world( Refer to as above so below logic) as when we crucify the symbols are "one of the three architectects is helping u" or smthing the other two being curious and micheoveus light?
Guiding Light = Guardian Angel / GuidingAngel Curious Light = God Red Light = Demon ??? Should be this? And the lights are represented with the space Guiding Light = Moon Curious Light = Sun / Star Red light = "i dont know"
One thing I've noticed is that the generators have 3 coloured lights. Blue (Guiding Light), Yellow (Curious Light), and Red. when you look in the room before you enter Rooms with the painting the 3 symbols are the Guiding Light's Crescent Moon, Curious Light's Star and the Red Modifier symbol. When we look back at the hidden message with the Crucifix it talks about the "three architects". There were thoughts on these 3 being the Architects and to me this is just clarification that this is true. The fact they they are seen in the generators makes me think that maybe they made the world of Doors. I haven't seen anyone talk about the generators lights but it is a nice hidden detail. The fact they're seen in the generators makes me think when they originally made this place the original idea was for them to keep us either: A: Locked in and unable to escape as they block the way forward or.. B: Prevent us from getting in because of the dangers in the mines. With the second thought I have an idea with absolutely no evidence other than what I've already covered. The generators are only in the mines, so if they're trying to prevent us from going into the mines why not the hotel? I think the mines were where they were keeping the monsters, and the hotel was a place that they could put us with a controlled amount of monsters (which could be why the mines seems to be a lot harder with things like the grumbles). People have gathered that the Red Light seems to be the main villain behind this, so they could have been the one to lock us in the hotel/mines, along with freeing some on the entities into the hotel. Curious light was locked away into The Rooms and when we let them out by opening the door. The backdoor can only be accessed after we enter Rooms which makes me think, do each of the lights have their own places? This would mean Curious Light looks over The Backdoor, and Guiding Light and the Red Light would have either The Hotel and The Mines but the Red Light wanted to take power over them all?
Something I like to point out With the new death screen's taking place underwater, each failure brings you back to the start of the hotel, as there is a flight of stairs that lead you up to the hotel from some sort of sea. When you die, you're taken back into the hotel by rising from the water, as you look up at the sky and see the architects (guiding/curious light)
I don't know about theories and all that but i just think it would be like really cool if like in the last 10 rooms of the entire game, when you open the door, all the entities show up or maybe just a final big boss entity, then its a chase where entities like snares, giggles and seek are obstacles around the place, so you gotta outrun them all and at the end maybe all the entities die to guiding light and then you escape doors, i think that would be cool, and most part of the idea came from this guy called "shyest guy" or something like that, he was commenting in a Ssebvy video, it was the trailer doors ost im pretty sure and i think it would be like really cool if they did that for the end of the game.
Limbo also means a place where someone is held so does that mean the player is held in this doors world and acc to matpat theory also , the bridge was broken when we entered the hotel....
Whenever you die, you appear in front of Guiding Light as you float in a blue essence, almost as if Guiding Light brings you to judgement to inform you of how to improve your actions for next time. Because of this, I am heavily inclined to believe that this entire thing is a test
What if the player is actually like a kid or teenager who can’t remember how many people were with them on their “vacation” when they went to the hotel, they might have went with 2-12 people or wandered through floors of places they’ve drawn or been to and the entities are also things they’ve drawn or had nightmares about just for the end of the game showing that they were killed and guiding light tries to show you that but every time you’ve died after a revive or don’t believe your death it starts over again
By my standpoint, the Hotel is elevated higher up, the Mines are underground with certain areas leading back to the surface. I see the player being a detective or person that has found themself trapped in the Hotel, with Guiding Light being the only person to help. Now, Guiding Light has to get you through, with his powerful omnipotence and reviving back to the beginning. After leaving the Hotel, Figure messes your ride up, sending you into the Mines. After leaving the Mines, you can see that Seek is much more prominent, being 3 out of 4 bosses, even seemingly assimilating a grumble of higher importance at the end. Now, for floor 3, I think that you'll enter into a castle, which has a ton of potential for ghostly creatures and apparitions, especially since Doors is partially inspired by Rooms and Rooms is inspired by Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion! I also believe that the red light will come into play later, directly messing with you in addition to optional modifiers and interrupting Guiding Light's processes to protect you, like when the crucifix fades to red when used on bosses to avoid eliminating the powerful entities and insure the game stays difficult. To put it short, there will be lots of potential for ghostly entities in floor 3, presumably "The Castle", or "The Fortress", and the alleged red architect could be much more prominent, while also seemingly being behind hide's red tint, and Seek's flashing lights in the chases. Thanks for reading! :D
Honestly I think "Limbo" was made to just mean that the garden room was a resting place to recover and await the rooms to come, being 91-99, which are the hardest rooms to complete on floor 1 in my opinion.
Elevation is truly non existent, as when going through the mines we arent getting much higher, but in the seek chase as we fall into the minecart we go down, not that far but down. When in the minecart there are like two times we go further down, and then while falling into the nest we again get further down. When escaping the nest we go in the sewers (go down yet again) than get out (back up) yet wr can see some sewer rooms after getting out, and during the last seek (the dam one) the room is giant only going really far down tho. Also how exactly isnt there leftover seek goo after flushing him down as it would be there and probably break the generator
2:56 my theory on this is because guiding light wants to escape the doors too, if u have know a little of the lore unknown that there is guiding light and red light, guiding light plans on trapping red light in the doors forever, but for that he has to escape himself, but he can’t just go away, that’s why he clings onto a player, if the player escapes guiding light does too, but we know red light too, what i think is that red light clings onto seek because he’s clearly one of the strongest entities in doors, so he wants to escape too, but guiding light prevents this from happening by guiding u faster then red light guides seek.
What I would love to see in this room is an corrupted book like the corrupted candle that will show you all tips and tricks on all entities that you’ve encountered and some lore reveals about the celestials at the back
lol i played doors with a frend and we noticed windings on the statue thing , as a joke i said "ill screen this so when we will finish we will translate" when we finished we translated it and it said "limbo" , and thats why im here lol
To understand why guiding light saves us, we have to go into the seek, player, and architect war. So basically, The red light around seek is actually the red architect. The red architect chose to latch onto seek because he knows that seek is able to corrupt any entity... that includes the player. The player is able to walk out of the hotel and mines while the entities (except for the queen grumble) cannot. If seek and the red architect end up corrupting the player, then they can escape the mines/hotel and wreck havoc on the world. Guiding light doesn't want that to happen, so he revives us to do it over and over, so that way seek doesn't corrupt us. This is the same reason why he guides us.
Also i found something that might add to this. What it is is about is the figure death message because the figure death message says “you died to figure he uses sounds and vibrations to help him you will get used to this place eventually”
i feel like the reason we could be immortal is when we die, we see ourselves underwater, and the hotel is surrounded by water, maybe if you die, and dont revive, you swim back to the staircase and climb up and spawn back at the lobby
Also Limbo is written before guiding light statue because when you die to a monster you are in the limbo state where you have to choose between life by taking the revive or death and having to restart
Limbo can also mean an endless cycle of dying and being resurrected which really fits with the lore, and maybe guiding light is trying to help you escape limbo
angelic seek crown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i luv your videos!!!! but really, how did u decode the word limbo from the plaque? aaaaand also this kinda reminds me of the ash ketchum is in a coma theory from pokemon -(but ash ketchum is the player in this case) and do you have any thoeries about modifiers and if they are canon?
My theory is that the hotel is a place for people that escape out of their reality to come into another, I thought about this is because once Curious light says “the hotel is an old place” And the word limbo, but the entities might be because of people going insane through an endless limbo. You see, the universe of doors has a weird nature, since there might be travelers that explore that universe, the doors nature might be making the travelers adapt to their nature, which might be changing how they look. Grumbles, giggles, and Timothy might be normal creatures in the world of doors.
i have a theory that uses this as a base, Limbo is the place between death and life, but since there is a cross in the game i think and just I THINK it could be Dantes Inferno Limbo, Limbo in Dantes inferno is the same as earth exept we cant die, its not really in hell but rather before it, Guiding light is there since the beggining showing us the way like, well yea, a guiding light, whenever we "die" we are taken by G light and explain how we "died", and those monsters could be hellhounds or demonds, we unlock curious light (and there fore the backdoors) when we open the rooms section, C light might be a more powerful being then as, almost like an angel, there fore almost like G light, after we die and then try to restart from the backdoors we see C light again, so there it might have found its place but not in the hotel since its the most crowded with entities and G light is better for that job. after that we dont encounter C light ever again exept in those bottles in the backdoors. for the Modifiers it could be that she is overall more powerful then G light and C light making them go out while she (modifiers) just look on us and dosent really help during Modified runs, she can "delete" or make some creatures dissapear, she might have the power to go back on time since we can play older versions such as the april fools one. defined by Game Theory, this 3 lights might be the architects of the universe and we just died irl and now in hell in limbo where we are trapped in an hotel, then try to escape in the mines to then exit by a sewer manhole and then going into a castle(not really related but in dantes inferno Limbo had a big big castle for everyone that was important). not a fully religious hypothesis but still correlated since there is christian and zodiac symbolism. for the creatures like i said they might be hellhounds or demons but why attack us? they might have escaped the hands of the 3 architects and maybe C light wasent so into it so he locked itself or was locked in the rooms before he could come back in the backdoors( like maybe he got there, got stuck, then we saved him and he got back in the backdoors). that could explain why C light is curious while G light is so praised in the garden or why we dont see modifiers at all to be referenced (too powerful to be with us and trying to manage the monsters) too long of a theory uhhh probably confusing, i will try explain it better if its too confusing
Here’s my theory: the game is a blast in the past because the character, you are most likely going in to a coma or is in a coma, and for me Limbo means literally trial and error and an in an infinite loop.
The detail of “limbo” being in what (for all intents and purposes seems to be) the ancient language of The Three Architects embossed on a plaque right in front of a statue depicting some angel-like being is throwing me for a LOOP man This is a really cool interpretation of the lore based off of this, I do hope you tweak it in the future like you said you might, this has promise
i find it possible that the elevation could just be due to the hotel being on the edge of a cliff face, the elevator may go just below the surface of a chasm below it
is overhall a good theory, but it can't cover some parts, like the modifiers, backdoors and the rooms. Which makes me do alot of questions. Is Doors and Rooms sharing the same reality? Are modifiers just modified realities we can acess? What's BackDoors in Doors universe? Only time maybe will tell
Modifiers are created by mischievous light, trying to stop us. I'm sure Rooms is a separate dimension. I think the backdoor is just a part of the Hotel.
Regarding the Rooms as well as the Backdoor portion of your comment: Me and a friend, while playing thru a run, started spitballing back and forth about lore. I made a statement about what I think each of our “Three Architects” do: Guiding Light is well, _Guiding Light._ They are the entity which helps direct us throughout wherever we go, as well as being The Architect who powers the Crucifix, as well as holding dominion over The Rift. (Not including the Curious Rift you get from the Bottle of Starlight.) Guiding Light also facilitates Reviving dead players. There’s a crap ton more that I could go over, but that’s enough on them for now. *Curious Light!* From what I can gather, it _seems_ to me “his” whole deal is Movement/Transportation of some sort. He is The Architect who facilitates your transition from the end of The Backdoor to The Reception area of The Hotel, as well as your entrance and exit of Rooms. The Vials and singular instances of both Bottle and Barrel of Starlight give you a Speed Boost, and an amount of health. You also gain a yellow glow around you for the duration of the speed boost. I pulled the theory from someone else that The Vials, Bottle, and Barrel of Starlight are essentially just a medium through which Curious Light _temporarily_ blesses you with its power. This also plays into a theory the video creator, or someone else proposed about our third and final Architect… _Our good friend _*_”Mischievous Light.”_* I agree with others that they may not necessarily be _antagonistic_ towards us, but they are definitely trying to impede us at the very least. I also subscribe to the theory that Seek is most definitely blessed with its power whenever we are chased by him. It would explain why the rooms we dash thru are all glowing red, and why he too glows in that color during our chase. It’s similar to us using a Vial or Bottle of Starlight. Mischievous Light temporarily imbues Seek with power, which is also probably the reason it’s able to break thru the Crucifix. _The power of an Architect being _*_negated_*_ by another._ Also on the Modifiers front: _I have no fucking clue, honestly._ That one’s beyond me. Anyway, that’s my spiel of theory nonsense. I hope you bothered to read this, as it took a little while to write/type. My knuckles hurt now, so I’m off to do the menial labor that is putting away my own dishes. Have a good day, night, or afternoon.
Maybe the guiding light WAS a guard (hence the sword). In the end of floor 2, you see a castle. But maybe guiding light was guarding the castle??? And i think the reason limbo is there because if the player reaches the end(floor 3 end, after floor 2 end), everything goes back to normal? And whenever the player dies, the guiding light loses some of its light/soul Thats why it depicts an angel And whenever you use a revive in-game, it may be a higher being giving guiding light, or you another life. The higher being may be the source of the weirdness in the hotel To add to the end of floor 3, NOT FLOOR 2 The end of floor 3 may be a throne? Or you meet the higher being? Or seek takes over you and you become THE first seek, (paradox)? Or you just continue to floor 4. Im just overthinkings this *IF EVER ONE OF THE THINGS HERE IS ACTUALLY TRUE, LIKE THIS COMMENT OR REPLY TO GIVE ME A NOTIF*
mischievous light is trying to take over the doors world, as seen by it conerting grumbles and giggles and stopping you from killing figure, seek and grumbles and it utilizing seek's fluid-like state to try to take over the dam and consistently rescuing figure
at this point im believing that the whole hotel is the physical embodiment of the limbo. And the reason why void exists. When you choose to go forward, you have no choice but to continue, since void would be something like your past life. Telling you indirectly that you aren't meant to hold on to it. And advance to a higher state of existence, which would be the heaven. Meaning that guiding light is an angel (or even god) leading you into the pearly gates by messing with the entities and reviving you, in fact. Maybe that's why the crucifix doesn't work on entities like figure and seek. Since they either are the embodiment of the player's demons or mischievous light's physical form, or its just guiding light preventing you from using shortcuts to escape the hotel so easily. Guiding light probably wants you to realize your mistakes. And doesn't allow you to skip em like a cutscene of 2 hours lol
my prediction is that the entities are actually monsters that appear in a particular hotel that you stay in because apparently the sun has disappeared while you were sleeping one day. this is my side of the story/lore.
Now I’m wondering if seek isn’t the antagonist but only pretending and to help get you to the end(seen in the chases and how he can definitely just flank you in so many doors)
6:20 in the background you reach the Minecraft section of the seek chase, and you are clinging on, and you are in a limbo between life and death as you said so I think you are clinging onto life like you were clinging on to the board trying to survive seek, trying to not get caught, if you wanted to end it all you would not have hung on, you hung on for the last chance to be alive again, I think this is apart of doors lore, please tell me what you think
Theory: Hotel, mines and other upcoming floors are the first circle of hell for our character, according to dantes inferno the first circle of hell is limbo, (This has flaws like punishment is by lack of materials to live, this is not whats happening to us. Why would an angel help and guide a sinner)
Not gonna lie but when I saw this video I thought it was clickbait, but you are really correct. If you didnt know, the word "LIMBO" is also in the Dante's Inferno, where LIMBO is a different time and space where there is no death and physical laws. So it's really interesting your video srry my english is not too good
Theory, everything that guiding light banish with the crucifix go to the limbo, guiding light banished the hotel (this explain why the rooms is connected to the hotel,it was banned, the doors at the end are portals?)so people can be safe, everytime we use the crucifix on someone it goes back to the limbo, thats why we see them again, another Theory(unlikely),as far as i remember,el goblino say that we always have to try again, and the game theorists theorized that him was a human,i think guiding light gave him a choice, be revived or not,i think he chose not to,but he regret it,that's why he warn us,but hey, that's just a theory,a GAME THEORY
I really did not think that the lore of Doors would go that deep about the supernatural stuff. Also I have noticed that, although the developers said that the lore won't be religious, you would find numerous hints that tell us the religious perspective of Doors. For instance, you would find a painting in the Hotel called 'The Last Pizza Party', which is the representation of the real-life painting 'The Last Supper' drawn by Leonardo Da Vinci. The painting depicts the last supper of Jesus Christ with his companions. Also, the crucifix and the effects after crucifying an entity also tell us the religious perspective. I am pretty confused!
When the devs said that all they meant was that it won't exactly fit in with the Bible or any other religion perfectly. There's still angels and demons and stuff, but it isn't super specific
I think that this could be thats The player IS in a limbo world and that whenever an entity "kills us" the guiding light brings us back for another chance and that if we were to beat "the final floor" we would go to heaven and that this is a test by the architects and that this would be like "heaven and hell" and that if the curious light is the keeper of "heaven" in the game and the mischievous light is the keeper of "hell" in the game and that the guiding light is trying to get us to our full potential to see if we are worthy of going to "heaven" or if the player should go to "hell"
I thought the sort of underwater place that guiding light brings you when you die was limbo. Also the player got to the hotel by boat (probably) because of the staircase at the entrance.
But in the lobby, there is water right there, and we aren't too high above it. So clearly this hotel lobby isn't on a mountain. And it makes zero sense for part of a hotel to be at one altitude and another at a completely different one. While yes, there is a dam at door 200, there are areas where you're near the surface before the dam, so it doesn't make any sense.
I just noticed that mines are WAY less abnormal than hotel
Creatures here are more wild animals than anomalies,
there less structural changes than in hotel,
and there is no bizarre structures like wall with gap or maze in walls or weirdly placed furniture
That may also be part of lore (probably)
and grumbles are a normal animal species that have nothing to do with what we are doing
@@Idrisroblox_devi agree😊
@@Idrisroblox_dev I literally said that
that's what I noticed too. The Hotel gives me the Backrooms energy when it's a place that tries to mimic the reality, but gives something really off about it. The Mines are more realistic, giving more real life-like characteristics while still leaving the supernaturallity in
I saw that The Backdoor is connected to the loor as well, but I'm not sure about The Rooms
@@mrvoidschannel359 I always thought it had something to do with the backrooms, a place outside of our reality, trying to mimic our world.
to be fair, the courtyard is kind of a limbo itself if u think about it, a place where ur safe before the upcoming final challenge. it could just be that
If that’s the case I would be disappointed…
Eyes and snare can spawn there. Screech, rush, and ambush can follow you there. Timothy can (I think) spawn in the bunker.
Void can kill you if your friends run ahead.
Hide can kill you if you enter the closets.
The safest part is that it's not what comes after
I hope this is true... us being in limbo (imo) would completely ruin the game for me :33
I have a theory:
when you go down the stairs in the lobby, you end up in an endless sea.
when you DIE in the game, you get sent to an entire domain expansion with the guiding light, which is ALSO underwater. (seemingly.)
is guiding light the one ressurecting you, bringing you back from underwater?
(i understand the ressurecting part has probably already been theorized but think about this part:)
like- guiding light just ressurects you from the bottom of the sea to speak to you before you rise to the surface.
when you die, you're ressurected in the water, float onto the surface, go up the stairs and try again!
Same as the furious light, don't forget about him
it's a simple concept but I enjoy imagining the player rising up in the water, walking up the stairs and going back to the lobby.

furious light
@@KC_Garcia Actually I heard somewhere that (she?'s) called mischevious light.
But when you die in The Rooms or in The Backdoor, and Curious Light talks to you, you're also kind of underwater so maybe this applies to both Lights

The water is black but eventually turns into regular water again.
God I hope El goblino gets punted, such a bad character that throws off the entire mood of the game.
no its definetely seek, he makes the water go black when he enters it
I have a theory, Seek was created by the Red Light.
Shut up about it.
nah bro seek obviously wants to kill us, and the red light i'm not sure but why would it take away the power of the crucifix if not to affect us? also seek doesn't save us he wants to kill us himself, i bet he's angry since we escaped him for the first time because he hasn't stopped chasing us
ruclips.net/video/g2wzL33-Vuc/видео.htmlsi=9dvRisHlhTBeOyVh
what i think after watching a few videos is that seek reall just wants to be the one to kill us, after all to me he was always a secondary entity in the hotel and figure was the main, but he's present even in floor two in various forms like the seek worm, the pile of goop etc in the dam room and the queen grumble who was supposedly supposed to be the final boss [maybe] was also infected by seek which makes me think seek wanna kill us himself.
Where do u see the red light? (Or mischievous light)
I have the same theory
When I heard the word and it’s meaning I came up with a theory in my head that guiding light is trying to guide us to the afterlife since we are in a limbo, but we have to keep going forward to get there through the various doors
Not that good of a theory but it’s still cool
limbo doesnt have to be associated with religion? just like afterlife, its a game and everything can be created in the game universe
@@idkidk2011 yeah tbh I thought it was a religion thing, thanks for telling me
this is actually a pretty good theory, it would make sense why the laws of physics don’t apply in Doors, because it is some trial or challenge to get to the afterlife.
@@idkidk2011 at the same time the game has crucifixes and religious paintings, I wouldn't be surprised if it was tied to religion somehow.
ig limbo could refer to the first circle of hell?
That's actually the only good explanation I could imagine that
It makes sense actually considering you can see nothing out of the windows
This doesn’t make sense though, since every playthrough has a different seed, and you could get a seed where you never go up or the garden areas spawn on 102
Doors takes place on Mount Everest 😭
It doesn't make sense in bc outside the hotel's lobby there's ocean, but you could be right
For me the biggest mistery in doors is the final room that we see at the end of The Rooms, we see many doors that are possibly portals to different doors floors that we haven't seen yet, or at least that's what i personally believe

@@miningthecrafters633 yep
Well here’s some interesting lore. After dying to the vacuum you get told that the back door has been long forgotten and because of that some rooms just vanish hence the vacuum. It also says the back door is very old but not much older than the hotel.
@@ZachJohnson-dr1me very interesting
I agree with the first one because when you die you kind of go to space to guiding light because we know that guiding light is a star OR a moon, when you die you see a blue moon, which is definitely guiding light, what other moon or light would be talking to you
If the world of Doors is limbo, then why is Bob dead inside of the Hotel? If he died to snare like El Goblino tells the player, wouldn't he have been brought back to life? And if he actually died, why is his corpse still in limbo? Wouldn't his corpse be brought back to reality?
Maybe he was playing with modifiers?
thats a good question!
maybe if red light is keeping him dead
I personally don't believe Doors is limbo, but instead, a dangerous set of domains being controlled or inhabited by powerful intangible entities and forces

@@Pewterr Well, let me talk about my own theory: We know that there is a “guiding light” sort-of guardian angel figure, and these monsters attacking you. When you have the crucifix item equipped, they are chained, and pulled down into an unknown area.

While watching this video, I had a theory in my mind. Whenever the seek's cutscene occurs, it comes from the ground, which means it comes from the mines, that it is the main boss of floor 2 but an uncommon entity in floor 1, whereas figure is the reverse of it. When the seek chase happens in the mines, the cutscene has something on the ceiling. Maybe that's where he spawns in floor 1.
Well, if we count the endless sea outside the hotel, the fact that when we die we go underwater with guiding light. What if the player is still drowining and is "betwen" dying or waking up?

(If you reference this theory please credit me, thank you!)
there’s a possibility that’s the hotel is on a hill which descends the far you go through the mines
I think another thing that supports this is also that outside in the lobby we can see platforms of concrete flying and the sides of the hotel which are broken and are also floating
Brother, I finally found you
a theory is that since limbo is the first circle of hell it could be more like the human world since its closest but as floor 2 is the circle of lust (ik if that really ties to anything) being the mines and having giggles and gloombats suggest this is a short glimpse of the hell of the doors universe we can maybe assume that referring to dantes inferno somehow the guiding light is a holy being of sorts with us in hell after nine floors coming back to the real world( Refer to as above so below logic) as when we crucify the symbols are "one of the three architectects is helping u" or smthing the other two being curious and micheoveus light?
Guiding Light = Guardian Angel / GuidingAngel
Curious Light = God
Red Light = Demon
??? Should be this?
And the lights are represented with the space
Guiding Light = Moon
Curious Light = Sun / Star
Red light = "i dont know"
Could be galaxy because spiral
Also I don't think curious light is a God, the lights are called the architects and their creators are the celestials

The fact they're seen in the generators makes me think when they originally made this place the original idea was for them to keep us either:
A: Locked in and unable to escape as they block the way forward or..
Something I like to point out
With the new death screen's taking place underwater, each failure brings you back to the start of the hotel, as there is a flight of stairs that lead you up to the hotel from some sort of sea.
Limbo also means a place where someone is held so does that mean the player is held in this doors world and acc to matpat theory also , the bridge was broken when we entered the hotel....
what bridge
thank you for giving us better doors theories than Game Theory
it makes sense, cuz el goblino states "I would look at the stars, if there were any" which implies the doors universe is a limbo state
Honestly I think "Limbo" was made to just mean that the garden room was a resting place to recover and await the rooms to come, being 91-99, which are the hardest rooms to complete on floor 1 in my opinion.
What I would love to see in this room is an corrupted book like the corrupted candle that will show you all tips and tricks on all entities that you’ve encountered and some lore reveals about the celestials at the back
Wait...did he just say..LIMBO?!

Good theory bro, fits with a lot of thing. But i didn't understood one thing: how did you found the word "Limbo" in that thing?
I am actually gonna jump lsplash if the ending to doors is like “it was all a dream”
The limbo would just mean the courtyard because it’s a resting place
The word limbo is there bc it is in a tradition phase from the hotel t the greenhouse
i feel like the reason we could be immortal is when we die, we see ourselves underwater, and the hotel is surrounded by water, maybe if you die, and dont revive, you swim back to the staircase and climb up and spawn back at the lobby
Also Limbo is written before guiding light statue because when you die to a monster you are in the limbo state where you have to choose between life by taking the revive or death and having to restart
Limbo can also mean an endless cycle of dying and being resurrected which really fits with the lore, and maybe guiding light is trying to help you escape limbo
angelic seek crown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i luv your videos!!!!
but really, how did u decode the word limbo from the plaque?
aaaaand also this kinda reminds me of the ash ketchum is in a coma theory from pokemon
-(but ash ketchum is the player in this case)
and do you have any thoeries about modifiers and if they are canon?
It’s the Wingdings font.
@@HungryWarden thx!
The reason why you would be so close to the surface in the mines is because we were probably taken very high up in the hotel
My theory is that the hotel is a place for people that escape out of their reality to come into another, I thought about this is because once Curious light says “the hotel is an old place”
And the word limbo, but the entities might be because of people going insane through an endless limbo. You see, the universe of doors has a weird nature, since there might be travelers that explore that universe, the doors nature might be making the travelers adapt to their nature, which might be changing how they look. Grumbles, giggles, and Timothy might be normal creatures in the world of doors.
They did say the game's lore would take some inspiration from religion, so there's that.
Wow, Doors took inspiration from Doors? That’s next level meta.

I think bro got lost while scrolling through this guy's channel💀💀💀
@@HungryWarden well fuck. thanks for pointing that out. lmao.
@@Sakthi692 Nah, i was just tired.
i have a theory that uses this as a base, Limbo is the place between death and life, but since there is a cross in the game i think and just I THINK it could be Dantes Inferno Limbo, Limbo in Dantes inferno is the same as earth exept we cant die, its not really in hell but rather before it, Guiding light is there since the beggining showing us the way like, well yea, a guiding light, whenever we "die" we are taken by G light and explain how we "died", and those monsters could be hellhounds or demonds, we unlock curious light (and there fore the backdoors) when we open the rooms section, C light might be a more powerful being then as, almost like an angel, there fore almost like G light, after we die and then try to restart from the backdoors we see C light again, so there it might have found its place but not in the hotel since its the most crowded with entities and G light is better for that job. after that we dont encounter C light ever again exept in those bottles in the backdoors. for the Modifiers it could be that she is overall more powerful then G light and C light making them go out while she (modifiers) just look on us and dosent really help during Modified runs, she can "delete" or make some creatures dissapear, she might have the power to go back on time since we can play older versions such as the april fools one. defined by Game Theory, this 3 lights might be the architects of the universe and we just died irl and now in hell in limbo where we are trapped in an hotel, then try to escape in the mines to then exit by a sewer manhole and then going into a castle(not really related but in dantes inferno Limbo had a big big castle for everyone that was important). not a fully religious hypothesis but still correlated since there is christian and zodiac symbolism. for the creatures like i said they might be hellhounds or demons but why attack us? they might have escaped the hands of the 3 architects and maybe C light wasent so into it so he locked itself or was locked in the rooms before he could come back in the backdoors( like maybe he got there, got stuck, then we saved him and he got back in the backdoors). that could explain why C light is curious while G light is so praised in the garden or why we dont see modifiers at all to be referenced (too powerful to be with us and trying to manage the monsters)
too long of a theory uhhh probably confusing, i will try explain it better if its too confusing
Imagine when doors finish when you beat the last floor you return to the hotel and repeat a cicle just like bendy
Hello? Do you know what a HILL is?
Here’s my theory: the game is a blast in the past because the character, you are most likely going in to a coma or is in a coma, and for me Limbo means literally trial and error and an in an infinite loop.
The detail of “limbo” being in what (for all intents and purposes seems to be) the ancient language of The Three Architects embossed on a plaque right in front of a statue depicting some angel-like being is throwing me for a LOOP man
This is a really cool interpretation of the lore based off of this, I do hope you tweak it in the future like you said you might, this has promise
heres a hint
Floor one is real
Floor two is not a real place but also is.
Wym a hint😭 did bro write the doors lore?
@@emperormoist3851yes , i did .
bro stole the secret lore documents from LSPLASH
"floor 2 is not real but also is real"
@@emperormoist3851 no I found some secret files though
i find it possible that the elevation could just be due to the hotel being on the edge of a cliff face, the elevator may go just below the surface of a chasm below it
in the hotel you cant jump but in the seek chase in the mines you can jump
Maybe the reason why it seems like a long drop in the elevator is because the electrical room (and the elevator) are at the very top of the hotel
is overhall a good theory, but it can't cover some parts, like the modifiers, backdoors and the rooms.
I made a statement about what I think each of our “Three Architects” do:
Guiding Light is well, _Guiding Light._ They are the entity which helps direct us throughout wherever we go, as well as being The Architect who powers the Crucifix, as well as holding dominion over The Rift. (Not including the Curious Rift you get from the Bottle of Starlight.) Guiding Light also facilitates Reviving dead players. There’s a crap ton more that I could go over, but that’s enough on them for now.
*Curious Light!*
From what I can gather, it _seems_ to me “his” whole deal is Movement/Transportation of some sort. This also plays into a theory the video creator, or someone else proposed about our third and final Architect…
_Our good friend _*_”Mischievous Light.”_* I agree with others that they may not necessarily be _antagonistic_ towards us, but they are definitely trying to impede us at the very least.
Have a good day, night, or afternoon.
i like this format a lot, it also kinda reminds me of an essay id have to write.
So what are Astral Entities then? Maybe they're first souls that entered the "LIMBO" or maybe they're just Gods?
Maybe the guiding light WAS a guard (hence the sword). In the end of floor 2, you see a castle. But maybe guiding light was guarding the castle???
And i think the reason limbo is there because if the player reaches the end(floor 3 end, after floor 2 end), everything goes back to normal?
And whenever the player dies, the guiding light loses some of its light/soul
Thats why it depicts an angel
And whenever you use a revive in-game, it may be a higher being giving guiding light, or you another life.
The higher being may be the source of the weirdness in the hotel
To add to the end of floor 3, NOT FLOOR 2
The end of floor 3 may be a throne?
Or you meet the higher being?
Or seek takes over you and you become THE first seek, (paradox)?
Or you just continue to floor 4.
Im just overthinkings this
*IF EVER ONE OF THE THINGS HERE IS ACTUALLY TRUE, LIKE THIS COMMENT OR REPLY TO GIVE ME A NOTIF*
mischievous light is trying to take over the doors world, as seen by it conerting grumbles and giggles and stopping you from killing figure, seek and grumbles and it utilizing seek's fluid-like state to try to take over the dam and consistently rescuing figure
at this point im believing that the whole hotel is the physical embodiment of the limbo.
Limbo could mean the afterlife too. I mean next to the word is literally a person with wings, doesn't that make sense
6:20 in the background you reach the Minecraft section of the seek chase, and you are clinging on, and you are in a limbo between life and death as you said so I think you are clinging onto life like you were clinging on to the board trying to survive seek, trying to not get caught, if you wanted to end it all you would not have hung on, you hung on for the last chance to be alive again, I think this is apart of doors lore, please tell me what you think
i am placing blocks and s cuz im in frickin minecraft 🔥
@@arobloxbaconhair1242 lol
Theory: Hotel, mines and other upcoming floors are the first circle of hell for our character, according to dantes inferno the first circle of hell is limbo, (This has flaws like punishment is by lack of materials to live, this is not whats happening to us. Why would an angel help and guide a sinner)
Not gonna lie but when I saw this video I thought it was clickbait, but you are really correct.
If you didnt know, the word "LIMBO" is also in the Dante's Inferno, where LIMBO is a different time and space where there is no death and physical laws. So it's really interesting your video

you deserve more attention you are a good theorist
7:45 Everyone that has betrayed badge dies and people who helped there friends get to be revived
0:00 THE ALRIGHTY IS REPLACED 😭
0:58 NVM we are good
I think that this could be thats
The player IS in a limbo world and that whenever an entity "kills us" the guiding light brings us back for another chance and that if we were to beat "the final floor" we would go to heaven and that this is a test by the architects and that this would be like "heaven and hell" and that if the curious light is the keeper of "heaven" in the game and the mischievous light is the keeper of "hell" in the game and that the guiding light is trying to get us to our full potential to see if we are worthy of going to "heaven" or if the player should go to "hell"
I thought the sort of underwater place that guiding light brings you when you die was limbo. Also the player got to the hotel by boat (probably) because of the staircase at the entrance.
Loved the vid❤ but niddy griddy hits hard💀
missed the opportunitie to say "THIS GAMEEE THEORY"
The symbols can be translated to a word that means endless or infinity, I discovered the day the update dropped I played floor 1 first
Doors lore: screech
Name: floor 2
Setting: floor -400
if floor 2 below in the hotel then the mines is floor 1 and the hotel is floor 2?
3:09 ur acting like this is real life, it’s just a game i dont think doors developers intended for this type of question
He is not? And the doors devs likely did think of this, as they implemented and did it because it resembles something inside their game.
the monsters are just the hotel staff trying to stop you from robbing the drawers
mfs when they find out mountains and hills exist:
But in the lobby, there is water right there, and we aren't too high above it. So clearly this hotel lobby isn't on a mountain. And it makes zero sense for part of a hotel to be at one altitude and another at a completely different one. While yes, there is a dam at door 200, there are areas where you're near the surface before the dam, so it doesn't make any sense.
