I don't know what it is, but seeing them do all that with emotion, fun, and in time. it's just kinda moving. it's a great song. even better seeing them perform it. thanks.
these people absolutely rule the drum world. I want to see a drum festival that includes them and the Blue Man Group. gives me the chills to think about.
we try to see them whenever they hit Massachusetts. At Mechanics Hall, Worcester, the O-daiko drum actually got the organ harmonizing due to the air hitting the pipes!
Their life consists of 1: play the drums like a badass every day, 2: get excited when my friends play the drums like a badass right next to me, 3: play more drums like I'm the Japanese Michael Jordan of drum players, and never stop being the best ever at what I do. 4: drink sake and enjoy the fruits of my badassery. We could all learn a lesson from their dedication.
I just saw Kodo the other week in Jones Hall, Houston. Excellent performance; like none I've ever seen. They even performed the traditional tea ceremony before the show.
If you see them life it vibrates through your hole body. I've experienced that about 15 years ago.I've seen them twice in Belgium. No dvd can give you the same feeling.
I've only had the chance to see them live once. I keep waiting for them to come back to the states. They are friggen amazing live. The entire show captures you from beginning to end.
My two years old son gets totaly crazy when earing this song. He immediatly runs to get his toy drums and starts to plays his own beat. He's not so good of course but what I like is to see him driven wild by such a tribal (and excelent) music.
@brainyscienceguy Thanks - I'm already involved with the group "Waitaiko" - the Taikot group for the Waikato region in NZ. They have just returned from touring Japan, with the likes of Riichi Yamauchi and Kenji Furutate. ;) I know that after Kyoto they travelled to Sado isl. (I think for the Earth Festival there). I'm not sure, but here's hoping they played with or saw Kodo! Miyake is my fav...
@12valvepower1 - I am not reffering to the Dadaiko, but the large drums that seem vertically compressed. I have not seen them at any Taiko concerts here yet...
Wait a minute. . . how is is that this is the best taiko recording I've ever heard? Listen to that Odaiko!! How come every other recording of taiko drums ever is missing that low end? I'd like to know who produced this. . .
Hello, i'd like to know it there are more song like this, with shinobues. In the office my boss don't like the druns, but like a lot the shinobues music. Another think, those shinobues remember me the bask music of txistus. Harriak
I saw them last night in Marin and i fell in love with one of the songs, a beautiful peice with one drum, a shamisen, one of those small flutes, and a woman who sang wonderfully. The song literally brought me to tears. Can anyone tell me the name of that song or where i can find it??? ( i can't find the directory...)
Hey, just thought i'd mention. I bought the Kodo- Heartbeat Album and i realized something interesting... maybe. But in the album the did this song in a higher key at a faster tempo!! It's cool but i liked this one better =/
Still sound so good after so many years.
I was able to see Kodo when I was very young, and to this day it was one of the best shows that I have ever seen.
I will not get tired of listening for years!!! More wonderful if this video can be seen with high picture quality🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I saw them in person in Denver about 12 years ago. The power of the drums is something you have to experience live to really appreciate.
I don't know what it is, but seeing them do all that with emotion, fun, and in time. it's just kinda moving. it's a great song. even better seeing them perform it. thanks.
I love this. It just speaks to me, a feeling I just can't explain, and I just got into these guys.
Baron Von Buran It's a feeling you cannot get from mainstream music. Music that gives your life meaning and the will to live :)
I saw them live in San Diego many years ago. The experience has never left me, and I will count it as one of my most memorable for as long as I live.
these people absolutely rule the drum world. I want to see a drum festival that includes them and the Blue Man Group. gives me the chills to think about.
Goose bumps of this song 👍 we train on this music in the dojo 🌞
I really love the sound of the Taiko. It's so alive. Yamato and Kodo are so amazing. I saw Yamato live and I was captured by the show ...
Wow, My best friend, Wonderful video dear. I enjoyed watching. Hope to see you soon...
Kodo drummers are living proof men can multitask
These guys are awesome I saw them years ago live at the Collins center for the Arts in Orono, Maine
we try to see them whenever they hit Massachusetts. At Mechanics Hall, Worcester, the O-daiko drum actually got the organ harmonizing due to the air hitting the pipes!
I wish I had known. I was i massage school at the time.
This and Zoku are without a doubt their best pieces.
Saw them once in concert. Absolutely stunning. Unforgettable.
20+ years ago I devoted myself to my wife. This is her song, she's still showing me colors I haven't seen...😊
Ich kann leider kein chinesisch...🤔

Look at them... their having soo much fun while playing... NOW THATS MUSIC!!
Poor?
I just saw Kodo the other week in Jones Hall, Houston. Excellent performance; like none I've ever seen. They even performed the traditional tea ceremony before the show.

Kodo also preformed with a band called Blöf , dutch band, with the song: aanzoek zonder ringen

Every fellow drummer friend of mine gets incredibly inspired whenever they see this. :)

Just saw them on Tuesday... I wonder the same thing! I loved that piece... such a pretty song...
I saw the in Berlin this year!! AWESOME!! I wish they would come back soon!
If you see them life it vibrates through your hole body. I've experienced that about 15 years ago.I've seen them twice in Belgium. No dvd can give you the same feeling.
i involuntarily head banged to this, this is PULSED. dude it has to be killer to play the daiko cannon back there
By FAR their best number to date.
I've seen them twice in Tokyo. Simply amaaaazing...
I've only had the chance to see them live once. I keep waiting for them to come back to the states. They are friggen amazing live. The entire show captures you from beginning to end.
This is a performance that you have to watch AND listen to fully enjoy.
I saw them in february in Belgium. They are the best!!
My two years old son gets totaly crazy when earing this song. He immediatly runs to get his toy drums and starts to plays his own beat. He's not so good of course but what I like is to see him driven wild by such a tribal (and excelent) music.
how can 7 people do not like this? its a "foreign" culture and the music is sort of relaxing, while it has its own kind of rythm.
i like it...
Oh damn I can choose to see this or Dadadan Tenko.. I can't choose. So awesome
No Words, just amazing
@TechnoFerret717 putting your everything into a performance makes it so much more enjoyable, for the audience and the performer.

Yes they are in southbank in June!
KoDo is very nice and Taiko is so good!!
Irodori is No.1
Saw a group doing kodo last year. Pretty amazing and cool.
I would love to see these guys !!!
