  • International Women’s Day (IWD) is a significant occasion for the international community to commemorate the achievements of women and girls globally and emphasize the challenges they face.
In 2024, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) focuses on the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress for Gender Equality and Safe Migration”, recognizing the unique contributions, potential and struggles of women worldwide and required investment in women and feminist changemakers to accelerate progress for gender equality.
IOM Tunisia is celebrating this year the success of women beneficiaries of its programme interventions. Through their recounts, 4 women from host and migrant communities will share their stories, hopes, successes and challenges with the wider public, from a specific thematic angle: youth empowerment, social cohesion, socio-economic emancipation of women, assisted voluntary return and reintegration, capacity building in the field of immigration and border management, among others.
This is the second episode of a four-part series. This episode, in French, tackles gender mainstreaming into immigration and border governance, through the inspiring testimonies of two women: Mrs. May Weza, expert-consultant for the Egyptian Ministry of Justice and Leila Bezzine, project assistant at IOM Tunisia.
