Clearly this video confirms that it will still works (like mine) without the antenna but that you should install it for it to work perfectly. Ordered my antenna!
I got a 2016 435i coupe and recently purchased M 19 inch by 9 wide staggered wheels for it. However, when we installed them, there is about an inch poke in the rear tires...can that be fixed or...how do you guys do it for yours to be flush with the body....Please help.
There are zillions of "full-screen carplay" RUclips videos like this but none answer the question of why BMW created the silly partial screen version in the first place or why given the obvious huge demand for full-screen CP they don't do it in an official update. Any thoughts?
I had a N55 F30 and did the whole FBO thing, cosmetic mods, lowered, 437m wheels etc... But I recently just picked a 2020 M340i because I wanted a B58. Honestly, I miss the F series platform a lot now. So many mods you can do and so many people want to mod them. Not many parts out for the G series platform yet and everyone's too worried about their warranty do anything.
@@thesharpshootersfl The F30 body ages so well. Looks amazing. But the M340i is wicked fast. The M340i stock feels like my 335i did with the BM3 stage 2 93 tune on it.
Buy a Lenovo ThinkPad T430 or if you want a smaller one, an X240. Those are gread laptops for doing stuff like OBD2 diagnostics or ECU modding, plus they have a user replacable battery like the laptops from the good old days of portable computing. But remember to get the versions with a SSD and 8gb RAM. The CPU is kinda not that important, a i5 is great but everything bellow will be also fine, since you won't watch 4k movies or try to play some games on it

However they will only be able to use CP. issues arise when you try to use native BMW maps. I’ve heard the hardware stutters etc and does not perform well. I’ve you’re only going to use CP, the pre 2016 hardware can (i believe) allow for this.
What is the range of the antena you got? On Bluetooth I can walk away from the car and the music will continue streaming from my phone, but when I’m on CarPlay it starts to break the stream when I get to the trunk or further away from the car(Like 2-3 steps)
I learned the hard way I needed the wifi antenna lol used it frustratingly for 6 months it was in my glove box lol never installed lol 😆 soooooooooo much better lol with the antenna lol. and car play is definitely so much better mine is a 2018 F30

I have custom wheels. These 437ms are backups. If I paint them it will devalue them, so for a spare set I don’t think it makes sense. But I do love all black wheels

The antenna is your Wi-Fi connection for CarPlay.

Does xHP shorten the lifespan/affect the longevity of the transmission?
Not really. In most cases it makes it better because XHP applies more clamping force which allows the clutches to not slip with more power.

The antenna goes behind the radio, you have to take the vents off and whatnot. I did it for my 2017 this past summer
