I only know their version and I considered myself a Dr Hook fan. I love Jessi's voice. If they play her version, there's one on Jan Hammer's channel that's close to how I remember it, with an older video. She's so young. Think Linda x Dolly.
Jesse Colter wrote this song; her first hit was "I'm Not Lisa". She is the only woman on the "Wanted!' The Outlaws" album - Waylon, Willie and Tompall Glaser are the other singers.
This is a cover of a song by Waylon Jennings and his wife Jesse Coulter. She wrote and produced it. She had quite a successful career on her own, let alone with Waylon
Since the early 70's, whenever these guys were performing in concerts or on TV, I could never get enough of them. A true classic group that always had fun on stage and enjoyed making their fans happy.
Just found your channel. Love y'all's pure reactions to these songs. Seeing the reactions in you reminds me of what my first reaction to the songs were. It is so cool when you two learn something about the song and artist, and thanks to the comments I have learned so much more about some of my favorite songs. You definitely need to do The Killers "Mr. Bright side", Chris LeDoux "This Cowboy's Hat" and Gary Allan "Smoke Rings In The Dark" Love this channel and wait for more songs
Classic rock standards always included this band...for good reason. Soft rock was the rage in the 70's and voices like Dennis Locoriere's were pure pleasure to listen to. Sweet❤
You guys are awesome. Music changed a lot from the 70's to the 80's and I don't mean in a bad way just in a huge change type of way. Dr. Hook and many other artists were part of this change.
There's a connection between Dr. Hook and Waylon Jennings that I never heard the story behind. He produced and sang on one song of theirs called What About You. Then a few years later he recorded his own version. It's worth a listen!
"Better Love Next Time""A Little Bit More" "Sylvia's Mother Said" "Everybody's Making It Big But Me" "She Was Only Sixteen"......More great songs by Dr Hook. 👌👍🩵♥️🎶🎼
Amber and Jordan- You are doing a terrific job with your reactions. I would love for. You to react to the song”Pieces of Dreams” by Johnny Mathis. The Live version from the Tonight show. He was Barbra Streisand’s favorite singer when she was younger . She has said of. him:”There are good singers; there are a number of truly great singers; then there is Johnny Mathis”.He is the third best-selling recording artist of the past century behind Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. This is a phenomenal performance by Johnny. A Must See!! I am certain you will enjoy it and be floored by it. Please react to it. It is absolutely spectacular. He received two standing ovations that night!!
I love love love this band!! I still have that very album, yes, I said album. Vinyl! Keep digging, so many good songs! “I don’t want to be alone tonight” & “ you make my pants want to get up and dance” “ Queen of the silver dollar” so many great songs! Love you guys! Hope you’re doing better Jordan!! ❤❤
I've never heard this song before either, but I can almost feel this being played at a jam session with Jimmy Buffet, Waylon Jennings, Peter Tosh and Don Ho.
@n_baileyname2698 what about "Carry Me Carrie" ? Have they done this one esp the live, impromptu acoustic version in that log cabin house...They are beyond stoned, but nail the lead vocal and harmonies
HOT CHOCOLATE - "" Every 1's A Winner (2011 Remastered) "" 1977 ORIGINAL VERSION Remastered AUDIO Classic Soul Funk / Rock R&B Jams w/ AMAZING GUITAR RIFFS and COOLFUNK BASS & DRUMS + Groovy Vocals a 70s Up To Groove
Never heard them do this song, but it’s cool. They are such a fun group! Amber, it does kinda give Jimmy Buffett vibes; y’all need to get back to him; check out “A Pirate Looks At Forty”.👍👍👍 Jay, the “yodel song” was not your intro to Dr Hook; it may have been “Sylvia’s Mother”.
Shania twain " Don't be stupid" it will be another favorite for the both of ya. Love this channel!!! Make sure to do the country one not the pop version lol.
You guys HAVE to check out Stephen Wilson Jr! He does an outstanding cover of Stand By Me. Year to be Young (1994), Father’s Son, and Grief is only Love are also amazing as well.
I thought I was a Dr. Hook fan, I like older hits, but I’ve never heard this one before, they were great, in 1999 I seeing Ray touring as Dr. Hook doing all the hits without Dennis
My favorite Dr. Hook song is still, ONLY SIXTEEN, a bittersweet love song. My brother used to play FREAKERS’ BALL in our room. It has dangerously catchy lyrics which are definitely not PC, and can make modern audiences clutch their pearls and swoon. But if you are rap fans I’m sure you’ve heard your fair share of scandalous lyrics.
You have missed the opportunity to pay tribute to the late Sérgio Mendes, who passed away recently of the group Brasil 66 . This group has Herb Alperts wife as the lead singer Lani Hall
Waylon Jennings and his wife Jessie Colter do a duet with this song. It's the best. Jessie wrote it. You would enjoy Jessie's songs. They are a Johnny snd June true love story
Yes! Lots of great novelty songs back then. My personal favorite is Snoopy vs. The Red Baron by The Royal Guardsmen. There is also a sequel called Snoopy's Christmas. They are short so Jay and Amber could do two of them in the same reaction, like two driving songs, Beep, Beep and Seven Little Girls. Other good combinations are The Purple People Eater and The Purple People Eater Meets The Witch Doctor or Short Shorts and Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. Check them out when you need to smile.
Love seeing your reactions, but where I tend to lean more towards rock and metal (love your love for 80's and 90's metal btw) I was wondering if you've ever reacted to Asking Alexandria. "Alone in a Room" would be a great place to start. Hope to see you guys do it. Love the channel, keep up the great work
Great song written by Waylon Jennings wife!! Would y’all please react to Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap?! It is a song unlike any you have reacted to in your long reaction career ❤
I like Dr. Hook, but I prefer their more light-hearted stuff. Come on guys, what this world needs, is some early '70s silliness: - Mud: Dynamite (a.k.a. dyna-mite) - Alvin Stardust: My Coo Ca Choo - Slade: Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me
Nothing against Dr. Hook because I really like them alot, but you should maybe try listening to Waylon Jennings and his wife Jessi Colter sing this song.
This was originally written & recorded by Jessi Colter (Waylon Jennings wife)
I only know their version and I considered myself a Dr Hook fan. I love Jessi's voice. If they play her version, there's one on Jan Hammer's channel that's close to how I remember it, with an older video. She's so young. Think Linda x Dolly.
“Freaking at the Freakers Ball,” is a good one by Dr. Hook.
Jesse Colter wrote this song; her first hit was "I'm Not Lisa". She is the only woman on the "Wanted!' The Outlaws" album - Waylon, Willie and Tompall Glaser are the other singers.

I love Dennis Locorriere’s voice. Love this band so much.
Next songs from Dr. Hook should be "The Millionaire", "Everybody's Making It Big But Me", "Baby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk" and "Walk Right In" ❤
"A Little Bit More" is a good one too.
That is a great song!

You guys are awesome. Music changed a lot from the 70's to the 80's and I don't mean in a bad way just in a huge change type of way. Dr. Hook and many other artists were part of this change.
"Queen of the Silver Dollar" is one of my favorites by them..😊
I second that!!
Enjoyed this one by Dr Hook. 'Better love next time ' is a great song by them.

Sylvia's Mother is a great one.
Run a search. They've reacted to it before.
@n_baileyname2698 what about "Carry Me Carrie" ? Have they done this one esp the live, impromptu acoustic version in that log cabin house...They are beyond stoned, but nail the lead vocal and harmonies

Jay & Amber, you'll love their "Only Sixteen" !!
Not sure they could handle the lyrics to that one.
Good song
@booterspaw Yep I agree. How times have changed
@@booterspaw but he says he "was a mere child of 16" so it isn't really bad. He is singing from a 16/17 perspective.
@@spantle3888 I understand that, but it seems younger people don't. It is a great song, and a great memory.
Had not heard this group in a long love their music
I love this guys voice. Country guitar.❤
I’m an old school girl from the sixties always must listen to music for all us positive people ❤
I heard this song EVERY Friday night in the 70s & 80s with my parents.aunts/uncles having beers & playing darts.. great memories
Love this band. Carry me Carrie and Queen of the Silver Dollar are great songs by them
1980 suggestion - "Suddenly" by Olivia Newton John and Cliff RIchard.

Love it!!! You need to do, A Little Bit More!
Never heard them do this song, but it’s cool. They are such a fun group! Amber, it does kinda give Jimmy Buffett vibes; y’all need to get back to him; check out “A Pirate Looks At Forty”.👍👍👍

I have always loved his song. Another “obscure” song by this group of delinquents is I Gave Her Comfort.
Yes
Please, do more Dr Hook! Carry Me Carrie, Queen of the Silver Dollar, Rolland the Roadie.
You have missed the opportunity to pay tribute to the late Sérgio Mendes, who passed away recently of the group Brasil 66 .

Y'all GOTTA check out Put Another Log on the Fire by Tompall Glaser! It's HILARIOUS. I grew up listening to my Daddy sing it (jokingly) to my Mama 😂💜
Waylon Jennings and his wife Jessie Colter do a duet with this song. It's the best. Jessie wrote it. You would enjoy Jessie's songs. They are a Johnny snd June true love story
i can honestly say i've never heard of this song
The only version of this song I know is Hank Williams Jr's version. I see in the comments that Jessi Colter was the original.
Ya gotta do Mr Custer by Larry Verne
Dr Hook reminds me of Three Dog Night Both bands very popular in the 70s
Yes! Lots of great novelty songs back then. My personal favorite is Snoopy vs. The Red Baron by The Royal Guardsmen. There is also a sequel called Snoopy's Christmas. Check them out when you need to smile.
Hey guys please please do the song"kiss it away" by these guys and you'll hear the lead singer at his most vulnerable/emotional
Check out their songs millionaire and baby makes her blue jeans talk!!
Love seeing your reactions, but where I tend to lean more towards rock and metal (love your love for 80's and 90's metal btw) I was wondering if you've ever reacted to Asking Alexandria. yeah this a Waylon song to me.
The original is my favorite Waylon jennings song.
I like Dr. Hook, but I prefer their more light-hearted stuff. Come on guys, what this world needs, is some early '70s silliness:
- Mud: Dynamite (a.k.a. dyna-mite)
- Alvin Stardust: My Coo Ca Choo
- Slade: Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me
You should listen to the original with Waylon Jennings and his wife
