so you buy a new tractor after 6K hours? how do you afford that? We bought a new claas celtis in 2007, and it's still going strong. it recently hit 14 k Hours

as someone who used to own Renault tractors, since they start suicide attempt fairly early (engine survival riding on a 5 cent coolant plug that will fail during work), start falling apart around 3 to 4k and having to carry them to 6,7,8k to trade them in for nothing maybe he's right. or maybe going back to fendt and having tractors that still run like new while being fully paid for like i did is the real right move. Also some people will live nearly like monks but will invest in equipment to improve their conditions others will pays themself way more and will run their machines to the end, the hours count is a bad indicator because money is not earned on the clock unless you're a contractor, tractor hours are expenses if you pull of an harvest with 1/3 less hours/year then you saved quite a bit.

To be fair John Deere do seem to make pretty bulletproof engines
