*It’s all fun and games until you reach the height limit and realise you can’t enter heaven*
But you can enter hell
@@demo2823considering what average minecraft gameplay is like, yeah no surprise here
Average aether enjoyer: 🤔😆
The problem is X used trees instead of buying stairs.
You gotto fall down again to reach heaven (maby)
Gem's gunna be so confused when even more Sea pickles are selling due to Pearl's build inspiring other hermits to use em.
Both Pearl and Bdubs have made some incredible trees thus far this season, I imagine Bdubs is going to continue to cook with them...
And Pearl even mentioned in her video that she was INSPIRED by Bdub's trees. So Bdubs inspired Pearl, and Pearl inspired Xisuma and Ren, who will probably inspire their audience! Its the perfect inspiration chain.
Xisuma is just going to build his own farm and not buy any pickles from Gem 🤷
PETSP (People for the Ethical Treatment of Sea Pickles) is really gonna go after them.
Ah yes, Ren and the Smallish Beanstock.
Baobab trees are an interesting example of trees in real life which you may want to include or take ideas from to use in your build.
Ideas for the packed mud area:
Including waterlogged leaf or mangrove root blocks to represent water storage, either at the base of the plant, or in the center of the foliage, similar to baobab trees but more eccentric.
Potentially blue stained glass panes to represent water being siphoned from the ground or river.
Maybe some small patches of greenery around the trees which do siphon water, representing the sharing of water to other trees, or water dripping from their leaves onto the ground as a weird form of symbiotic relationship.
I'm reading this early in the video and I thought that you meant Bdubs and just accepted that Baobab was a new nickname for him
I LOVE the idea of baobab!
Mojang probably should’ve added them to the game by now. The biome vote backlog is taking them ages to catch up on.
Boosting this comment, baobabs are a great idea!
Evil X would be so proud of you for your trophy scheme.
17:38 Pearl is soo good at building. Give it up, everyone, Pearl is the ultimate inspirational builder.
I'd say she's a close second after Bdubs
@@matebajszi9512yep bdubs supremacy
1738, ay. i'm like hey whats up hello
@@mooseroom Haven't heard that since 2015
Bdubs is. But Pearl is amazing too
As soon as I saw the giant tree, I thought "Jack and the Beanstalk", and Ren said it two seconds later!
(A treasure at the top is a nice touch.)
It may not be that good, but I think it would be very thematic. Here's the treasure Jack might have, in no particular order:
1. A stack of bonemeal and a stack of bread. ("I'll grind his bones to make my bread!", says The Giant.)
2. A bundle full of gold nuggets. To simulate a bag of gold.
3. A chicken (renamed "Golden Goose" or "Golden Hen"? I can't remember.)
4. A stack of eggs (renamed "These are 24 karat gold, I swear!")
5. The singing harp would have to be either a custom record disc, or more faithfully, a custom horn, because the harp could play itself and sing. So hit up Jono or JoeHills and his sister for a short tune to represent the harp.
That's my two cents!
Its a golden goose but yes
purpur lol - well chorus flowers. They have an alien quality to them that could bridge the gap between Ren and your bases with a little injection of colour. Mud bricks also have purple hues to them to bring purple into the colour pallet. I saw how Pearl had incorporated them at her base and I think with a few darker tones leaves it could add the life you may be looking for. Love the world by the way - as always 💜Keep aiming higher my dude - oh no build limit lol
within the packed mud, you could include different kinds of wood logs/planks/etc. to make the ground look more moist or dry
5:22 It's funny, 1 block of copper ore is negligible to X's whole shop, but right here he walks past a bit of ore INSIDE his copper aging room...
I don’t know if it’s because of everyone playing in close proximity to each other this season? But it seems everyone has really pushed their game. The redstoners for example are all really coming in to their own and grown into incredible builders. This is what I live for to see. Just how far people can push their talents and step outside of their box. It’s wonderful. “Be inspired”
I can't decide if the trees or the new mushrooms are my favorite thing you've built for this episode, but I'm always inspired by all the work you do
Yep X and mumbo stepping up their game this season.
pinecones and palm trees? that aint right! however the seapickles do also worg as green coconut outershell.
I think adding cattails to the water area would look nice. Brown candle green stained glass pain. The drip stone area looks great. Try adding then in a ravine area or follow the sand cracks to talked about so it looks like the biomes tectonic plates crashed into each other giving it purpose.
Love your vids x.
Make a "got'em all" trophy for pranking every hermit with a harmless prank.
Hey Xisuma at the top of your tree to the heavens have a sign saying "Your turn, take this down and build it somewhere new" with a chest with a few goodies and some shears.
making a literal hybrid of the two types of trees would be perfect for the biome transition! mangrove root "leaves" on the underside of the tree canopy, green leaves on top - or even the other way around! maybe the mangrove root "leaves" are on the top of the tree because they protect the leaves underneath from harsh and dehydrating sunlight :)
Would be cool to have some baby squirtapods outside Ren’s gates, feels kinda weird that no spores have escaped, and a few baby ones would be too young to have exploded or created sulphur pools. Oh, imagine if there were some half-alien hybrid plants which carried traits of both your plants and Ren’s plants - maybe the river mutated them together?
A Tango head from Season 9 on an armor stand holding a lantern would kind of look like a Led Zep album cover.
To the tree, add a jungle log and some cocoa beans you should. It'll make the trees look like it bearing fruit.
Good advice in a poem written? Oh how nice, I'm truely smitten!
16:15 that tree looks like a skydiving frog but it is very cool from other angles.
Totally a skydiving frog!!!
21:26 i think for the little biome dead bushes would be a perfect fit !
Coming soon to a Hermitcraft server near you - a new take on a classic fairy tale: X and the Giant Bean Stalk!
You can make a 2x2 dirt platform like 5 blocks up, put cherry blossoms and bonemeal on each block, build the rest of the trunk down, and polish the leaves, and it makes a pretty nice cherry tree
Hello Xiuma. I can see you making Jack claiming your tree beanstalk. That really look cool.
16:00 X's favorite tree looks like someone free falling after jumping out of a plane
That sand pit bit outside Ren's base might be a cool spot to add one of his sludge pits, but you can like have it be half water, half sludge. Like the water is drying out and leaving sludge behind
The raw iron transition between sand and packed mud is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you Xisuma!
Have you ever played starbound, X? Boneboo inspired custom trees would look fantastic in the little transition zone between rens custom biome and your forest biome. Little bone-like trees with large red fruits.
Rens custom trees that spread by spores might adapt to the more lush enviornment by utilizing fauna seed spreading! Local animals wander in, eat the fruit of the tree - which evolved to be lower to the ground - then spread it around a little later depending on their metabolism.
I can't tell if the title's a reference to Led Zeppelin, but knowing Xisuma it probably is lol.
Exactly what i thought :D ... next project: Highway to Nether
Oh I think spore blossoms and cherry tree particles and crying obsidian particles would look really cool coming from the mushrooms near the tree. Very cool build!
Xisuma actually has a virtual 10%/4%/etc. share in EVERY shop that goes for the trophys. :D
One thing that one of the hermits (either gem or bdubs I can’t remember) says when building trees : less is more, leave air gaps in your leaves and it provides depth. I think the shape of your one tree is great but could benefit from a few air blocks in there! I’m so impressed by your tree building! Keep it up
As a transition, you can add some dead bushes with a Mangrove leaf and then root on top as you get closer to Ren's base.
Plain Terracotta might be a nice transition between the Packed Mud and Dripstone clusters.
Maybe in the bigger sand areas you can add layered orange and yellow glass, like they're turning into the Honey cespools.
That beanstalk tree looks like something out of Dr. Seuss books.
I love those non-compliments as jokes.
Ren's opinion of the custom tree: "It's certainly custom"
Dark wood buttons and candles could make for some dropped pinecones too :>
13:39 A Jack and the beanstalk base sounds very cool though. Jack's house as a starter base, the looming clouds above,,, wonder how you would go around making fluffy looking clouds while still functioning as a sort of biome block though
This video was my introduction to using different leaves to simulate sunlight as well, that’s really clever!
Maybe some red glass panes and weeping vines hanging from the red mushrooms and purple glass panes on the purple one.
There's a scifi book, second in a series, called children of ruin, and it starts on an arid world in the tidal marshes of a body of water. I bet there's a lot of description there that might be inspiring when it comes to terraforming the land up to rens base. Plus it's just a really good read!
Could put dead bushes near the dripstone clumps, with maybe some lichen on the sides of the blocks.
I have a special place in my heart for your magical giant mushrooms. I have built a number of designs over the years. You do not disappoint. The whole area is fantastical and I love it 🥰
You could also use brown candles for the pinecones that fell on the ground
21:15 if you can add a campfire below some of the dripstone, it'll look like they're spewing gasses.
Ren's custom trees have a bright inside, I think either magma blocks or shroomlights or something? How about some more ground level bushes with a similar dim light block in the center for light?
In addition to the top shulker, just deliberately places some obvious chests or shulker in all different levels to hinder that there are more! And place a huge one well hidden!
Using the iron ore block to blend the sandstone is genius.
Man, everything looks insane, I like so much the way everyone is progressing in this season.
may be use normal (wet) mud on the coast of the river and have more plants next to it because after all water is life
People have already mentioned palms don’t have pinecones. I thought, well, they do have coconuts. Maybe he meant coconuts.
I don’t have access to mini blocks but you might consider rooted mud or dripstone mini blocks as coconuts.
Also sometimes I use mangrove roots under my palms next to the trunks as the dead leaves that hang down (it also is a dark block that adds to the illusion of a very shaded area). Palms get new leaves that sprout in the center strait up. They are wrapped around each other. As they grow they unfurl and lay farther and farther out until they whither and hang down next to the trunk. Eventually they fall to the ground.
I personally like when the trees look janky from certain angles, most trees arent perfect 360. It reminds me of positioning a Christmas tree so the worst side is facing the wall
That five branched tree looks like a frog leaping from a boulder. I think it wouldn't be a bad fit for a temple complex to have trees look deliberately pruned into inte various shapes rather than making them all look fully natural.
Dude you blew my mind with the raw iron block, packed mud and sandstone combo
Path blocks have a nice yellowish green that might be a nice transition between the packed mud and grass
Ren is using pumpkins on bushes, I think you should use melons instead, because in your transitionarea is more moisture
The 5 leaf tree that he described looked like someone skydiving.
So Ren has these custom plants made of azalea bushes, pumpkins, glow lichen, flower pots, and torch flowers. In the middle biome, because it has more moisture, try azalea bush, melon, glow lichen, and sea pickle. I made one in my test world and it looks pretty cool. The glow lichen helps the melon not be too obnoxious.
When I hear "The Curse of the Eclipse" my brain tells me it is a piece Mike Oldfield's work before I remember it's Xisuma's music (I listened to Oldfield far too much in my youth). It happens every single time. The tune is so damn good! 😅
Potential lore suggestion: Xisuma has his temples and things, and ren has the dangerous exo-planet and they were both talking about merging their bases somehow, so maybe Xisuma's base is something like the uninfected part of Ren's planet, and thousands of years ago, the whole exo-planet was like Xisuma's area, but then some sort of alien monster species came along and turned the exo-planet into what it is now, and then Ren and Giga--Corp came and colonized it, but when the evil alien people monster things came along, they couldn't destroy Xisuma's area, because maybe some sort of spirit god was protecting the area around the temples, so its sort of like a magically protected area around the temples, but the rest of the planet is poisonous and dangerous
The light green tree looked like a flying frog, so cool 👍😁
I immediately thought of Jerry's Tree from CaptainSparklez's playthroughs all those years ago when I saw the trees, although his was made out of jungle. Very nice
That mud>raw iron>sandstone>sand transition is absolute genius!
Hi X! I’m loving the building this season. For the biome between you and Ren, a glowing crashed meteorite of some kind could be awesome! Surrounded by its own micro-micro biome perhaps? Maybe unique flora could sprout from it, or it reveals different coloured rock below the surface, maybe red? Theres a lot you could do with it and it could be cool.
For the transition area between your bases-
I think it would be cool if there was a mini run down ruin that from afar kind of just looks like some of the rocks/boulders that are in Ren’s biome.
Or you could take it a step further and the mini temple is in your style but maybe it has some of the colors of Ren’s base/some sci-fi looking tech. It might be hard but I’m imagining it would have a lot of moss and lichen to try and blend the two. If done right I think it would look very epic.
You're getting better at building every day, X. It's amazing!
You could build something like the Star Wars desert plant monster with these big trees as root tentacles!🌲
the Piglin Brute also fits the mob critera since it only spawns on generation, other mobs that can be farmed but are annoying is Endermite, Wandering Trader, Trader Llama, & Skeleton Horse
i love the torch flowers on the shore. ren's "mushrooms" of spore blossom and dripstone would look very good sprinkled around as well. For custom trees, i wonder of you could do some shorter or more flacid palms. like where the trees from your area tried to propogate but couldnt grow as tall or became infected froma bug or fungus on the alien biome.
The tree at 1606 looks like a space fighter plane. :)
A box of magic beans at the top? Or a giants face peering down through the clouds
You could try incorporating coloured candles in the trees to represent the multiple stages of pinecones, flowers, fruit, etc. Obviously you have to avoid it looking like a tree decorated for Christmas but that's quite easy if you use the correct colour tones. I don't know if propagules can be hung on non-mangrove leaves but if so, that'd be great too.
16:13 - you made a frog tree. XD
I like the shrooms, maybe add 5-10 smaller ones around to make them look more patchy and natural.
Also, I prefer the dripstone patches on muddy shore. More of those. Maybe add some stones as well? I like the green bits by the path mixed in too, so maybe a fountain or aqueduct or other water-feature on the beach, like you have to pump in the water for the plantlife on that side of the shore. The greenery on the paths could be spreading from that oasis.
The tree you showed at 16:04 100% looks like a man made out of leaves falling from the sky
I think inserting the sand cracks down with half slabs would add something cool to the terraforming.
22:30 Classic Hypno! I remember he did the same "OCD" equally-spaced-grid lighting in his Season 2 base in the forest. Someone (can't remember who) came later and pulled a prank by randomizing all the torch locations! Maybe that was when False and Zueljin joined.
Middle ground needs a big pit creating an X across the river once you go down deep enough with water from the river falling into it once you get down to the base and the other two sides connecting to either of your bases become ancient ruins around bedrock level as if they’ve sunk into the ground, one themed ren, and the other themed void. As both your bills are perfectly situated to stand above ancient ruins of different origins.
I posted my first Minecraft survival series, if you can check it out and let me know what you think would mean a lot. Thank you!
Maybe you could try making some trunks out of pointed dripstone in your muddy biome. It would give an hourglass curve. The plant could have some dripstone points hanging down too.
I have made some cool trees using magma blocks for leaves and obsidian for the trunk, but it might not fit so well here. Likewise, waterlogging all of a standard oak tree's leaves and then encasing it in coral blocks also gives a cool effect. Especially when you then swap out the trunk with one of the nether woods.
16:30 That tree actually looks quite good, like a hedge artist came around and cut it into that shape, would look great with a bunch of the mall together
Mushroom? tree would need sandstone walls....
Ooh yay tree mushroom!
yay I guessed right
I think you could totaly fit in some of the small palms, that keralis build on his plantation on the other side and slyoly fuse them to get brown(root) leafes, the closer they grow to rens wall. They will not obstruct too much of the wall and will not be too visible from rens side, so they would fit quite wall as a transitioner!
I think it would look amazing if you got cleo to make some hazmat dudes fighting the spread of the biome in that zone you want to make packed dirt. Like make a lot of it packed dirt, but behind the line of hazmat dudes make it look like it's burnt terrain that the hazmat people "cleaned".
If you really wanna go all in, you can set up little hazmat tents and checkpoint all around, to make the transition feel even more part of the world
Love the ideas for the beach next to the river! Maybe you can put the pitcher plants to use somewhere along the shoreline? They feel quite alien, and would work great near the shoreline where the environment is more wet.
Love how you take the time to let all the details around you from other bases and just the world itself (Minecraft and IRL) to really sink in and inspire you to then try things at your own base with your own builds. It really reminds one to take a good look around and immerse yourself in all the subtleties that you might otherwise be missing and appreciate the asthetic value they bring. I've been inspired Xisuma!!! ❤
With the transition biome, you could use regular mud at the water line with some small bushes or trees
I think the area needs a more shrub-like plant. Maybe use a dead bush and put mangrove roots on top? You could also do patches of rooted dirt underneath to really sell it. Spruce fences could be used to give the dead shrubs even more depth.
the custom biome can also have copper trees using copper grates that are not fully oxidized
Oe, you could have a regular tree on mud that's half way into mutating into Ren's trees. Like the mutated part looks stable and looks like Ren's trees, but the other half looks ill and looks like the tree is trying to fight back the mutation
Maybe some custom cacti between your and ren's place could work? gives it a bit of the green from your base but keeps the "dry" theme from Ren
20:35 Would be nice if the 'Torchflower' would serve its name there...
all hermits building levels has evolved wow
This whole season is just butter. It's such a pleasure to watch people rediscover their love for this game. Formulas be damned - just have fun with your friends.
Love that shoreline in the transition with REN’s area. I think you could continue the pattern of stripped spruce with dead coral fan on top elsewhere instead of just the coral fans
I posted my first Minecraft survival series, if you can check it out and let me know what you think would mean a lot. Thank you!
Don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but I believe Ren had a small stalagmite with a spore blossom on an armor stand on top of it, like a land anemone
Once someone gets the reward at the top, you should consider putting in a cloud area around it just above or at where you can no longer see the world below.
Love you X! I imagine that in the shulker would be an axe and shears or hoe. That said, the second custom tree you made looked like a frog skydiving, change my mind 🤣
I posted my first Minecraft survival series, if you can check it out and let me know what you think would mean a lot. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this episode. I like the creative process and the cooperation.
Ren was unsure about the wall at first, then False helped him with details, now X helps with biome transition, good vibes.
The tree kind of looks like a giant kelp plant, could look good in an ocean build
Cattails near the water and maybe some kind of weird bush? (Maybe a blueish one?) would be great additions to the transition biome imo
I posted my first Minecraft survival series, if you can check it out and let me know what you think would mean a lot. Thank you!
