  • Today we look at the quickest and easiest way to service your dropper post at home with minimal parts or tools needed! I'm using the Giant Contact Dropper Post that came with my bike, but this could apply to other dropper posts, such as Brand-X. However, for SDG, KS Lev, OneUp, PNW, RockShox Reverb or a FOX Transfer please check your manufacturer's maintenance manual first.

    Bravi! You guys did in a simple, user-friendly 3 minute video what others can't manage in 20+ minutes of jaw wagging. Very clear and de-mystifying. Gold star for dad, too.

Keep this up and you will rise to the top :) If you want to start taking market share of the gun maintenance video market, I will support you because they could use some lessons lol!

      If it has become slow returning back up or hard to push down.
      Also good idea to service once a year because sometimes water can get in through the seal on the top when washing.

    My dropper post is wobbling like 5mm from side to side. I read something about brass key replacement, but it was doing from the start when I bought the bike, so it didn’t wear off. Can I do something about it, or is it normal?

  • @Elbow_Grease

    is SRAM butter an alternative to the slick honey?

    • @Elbow_Grease
      @Elbow_Grease 3 года назад

      Also should we decompress the dropper or keep it pumped?

    • @EverydayBiking
      @EverydayBiking  3 года назад

      Hey there, Sram claims that sram butter is not the same as slick honey, but others say that they are the same thing in different packages. Many shops use them interchangeably, so if you are using one for the purpose of the other, I believe you should be good. And not 100% sure what you are referring to about decompressing it or keeping it pumped, however when storing you should keep it in the extended position, same with doing maintenance on it as the air pressure is 3 times higher when its compressed.

    • @Elbow_Grease
      @Elbow_Grease 3 года назад

      @@EverydayBiking Sorry I meant do I keep the air in my dropper or take it out? I feel like taking it out is the logical step but might as well check

    • @EverydayBiking
      @EverydayBiking  3 года назад

      You can use SRAM butter, that's perfectly ok. You also don't need to take the air out of your dropper when servicing it!

    my remote is too stiff, how can I adjust that?

    • @EverydayBiking
      @EverydayBiking  3 года назад +2

      If it's too stiff then you should probably either clean off the cable or replace it. Stiff remotes usually means dirty cables.
