  • In this video, Nancy from Otis Technology explains the importance of gun care and why cleaning from breech to the muzzle is the preferred method of hunters and recreational shooters like her. Nancy also demonstrates the Otis 3-Step Gun Cleaning process that was pioneered over 35 years ago by the gun cleaning professionals at Otis Technology; as well as basic preventative maintenance for your lever action rifle(s). The cleaning method demonstrated in this video was used to clean a Henry All-Weather Side Gate chambered in 45-70 Magnum; and this method can be applied most bolt-action rifles, to keep them looking like new and running smoothly for years to come. Refer to your owners manual for proper disassembly and reassembly instructions.

Using tape on the screwdriver is a great tip! Thank you!

Excellent breakdown on lever rifle cleaning! I love the cable system for quick bore cleaning without removing the bolt. I do have a quick takedown screw for the lever though to make disassembly much easier. The Henery all-weather lever rifle is one sweet rifle...love your taste there!

Nancy, this is great - to the point, thoroughly explained and the video quality was very good. I just got my first lever and am about to clean out the factory grease and this video was very helpful. Never even though about tape on the screwdriver - no wonder my guns are all scratched up otherwise. Glad to know my new Henry will not be subject to this. Thanks again. PS - I love that all weather model...really sharp.

Asked about this one on your Facebook page a few times and was looking forward to it… Hoped it would have been demonstrated on a Winchester model 94, but hey, they’re all pretty much the same. Either way…. Thank you!!

Do you oil the parts, and if so, what type of oil are good to use?

That's not an extractor, it's an ejector.
