Who exactly makes the decisions about what games will be made? Who was the guy (or gal) who first sat down and said "We're going to make a dark, edgy, 3D Pokémon game... FOR A HOME CONSOLE?" Because I'd really like to be that guy.
yeah I am amazed that this game was made. I was expecting it to be the new standard with new games following the same idea but it never happened. (apart from Gale XD) this game is by a third party company (Genius Sonority) I wish they would do the same thing again and let another third party company make a Pokemon game for console. Nintendo were more ambition in those days. Pokemon needs to mature IMO.
C.J. Stanbridge The main reasons for this game existing are likely: To account for the changes between gen II and III making transferring Pokémon impossible, so this game provided many Johto Pokémon unavailable in both R/S/E and FR/LG. To provide a 3D tournament engine capable of handling double-battles. So we have the home console Pokémon game everyone clamoured for at the time.
C.J. Stanbridge Well only really the last one still applies, because every generation since III can transfer forward somehow, and we have remakes and the GTS to cover a lot of missing Pokémon. The use of a home console game for 3D battling no longer applies since gen VI, and I doubt, as much as many may want it, that a home console game sells anywhere near as well as the handheld versions, so it's likely not worth the investment.
WES -Former member of an evil team -Has a bad ass motorcycle -Starters are Umbreon and Espeon -Quits evil team -BLOWS UP THEIR BASE! -Steals a mechanism that allows him to steal pokemon -Has a hot chick following him everywhere. WHY DIDN'T THIS GET AN ANIME ADAPTATION!?
A remake would honestly be pointless. The game is perfectly fine as is. Another sequel would be better. Preferably one themed around gens 4-6 with emphasis placed on actual strategy
deaththekid922 I think Colosseum wins for the atmosphere (Gritty/Underground operation/serious), and XD wins in general game improvement with every single added mechanic EXCEPT the fact that if you snag a pokemon in a fight and lose, you don't get to keep it AND you still lose the balls. Colosseum didn't have that.
The Legacy Of Kaizer It is considered the sequel to Colosseum because it's basically about facing cipher again. The character from colosseum is even referenced to be the one who took them down originally.
Oh, Jesus, here we go... My parents got me a GameCube when I was really little, probably about 5 or 7, and this game came with it. I played this for hours on end with my parents, and hearing this music again is amazing. Thanks for uploading all of this!
I loved both Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. Just started another game on the first one recently. Absolutely love these games. I searched the OST because I heard the Pyrite Colosseum Semifinal battle music and remembered how awesome the soundtrack really is
***** True, though some of the older episodes did get pretty dark. I just rewatched the DPP episodes where Team Galactic prepared to and did summon Dialga and Palkia...If you listen to the music when Hunter J's ship goes down, you can hear a chime in the background imitating a church bell. "For whom the bell tolls" indeed. Gave me chills. (DPP was definitely a good series for that)
27:36. Holy shit. I've been whistling this damn song for YEARS and I just remembered where it came from. Just a few days ago I was humming it in Target.
Since the Wii U is practically dead at this point, here's hoping for some kind of sequel (or even a remake) of the Orre games. We'll maybe get one some day... right?
+Merchantic YES! Along with Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness! I wanna see an HD Nintendo Switch Remake of Pokémon Colosseum which could feature Pokémon from all 7 generations!
+Cameron Le'Quin Yep, I'm Dash all right. The analogy is especially appropriate since I do most of my training at my university gym, which has a circular track. My favourite song in this is the semifinal battle theme beginning at 52:51, which usually accompanies the beginning of my "second wind" -- i.e., after I've gotten over being tired and have enough energy to make another super-fast push. The tone of the music at that point is very motivating.
+C.J. Stanbridge Ah interesting! And whoa, the Semifinal battle is my absolute favourite track in this OST too! One of my favourite tracks of all time really, it just... moves something deep inside. Cool to know it motivates you for that purpose... generally I use it to cheer me up and help me focus. Gorgeous music.
This game is the reason I have an espeon on my team in every game. Used to be 'and umbreon' until i met my partner, who did the same. We have a pact now that i get espeon and he gets umbreon :D I used to love playing this game so much
This game was my youth, the best out of the pokemon series, the underground type of pokemon you don't see these days. The bosses, the music, it was all perfect...
shaazo36 Maybe the hate of that tactic is what drives Wes in Pokemon Colosseum. Duking: It's great that you are using your power to fight against the forces of evil and put an end to Cipher's organization. Wes: Nah man, I am fighting Cipher solely because they are Earthquake spam scrubs. Duking: Oh, ok. whatever motivates you, works, I guess. lol
Brendan Matthews There was also the stupid status condition crap from Venus, and the Rain Dance tactics from Miror B and Ein that probably made Wes have a passionate drive to destroy Cipher.
this game has all my memories, when i got myeself a scizor traded onto it, leveling up my flygon, and that metagross, when it was finally free, it was like level 73 i spent ages watching that level up screen after purifying it, and the trouble i went through for that suicune :L and the espeon i just loved, with a groudon sent over too, and then there was the time i found out that thunders accuracy became 100% in rain :) and then i went on to emerald and used that to get all the frontier badges :) soo much mems but DIGGERSBY THO
This is my favorite game of all time, just listening to the soundtrack gives me chills and almost makes me want to cry. I remember this game so clearly; I'd always rush through my homework just to even get 5 minutes into the game. For the longest time I didnt know you caught the shadow Pokemon until my friend told me, my Espeon and Umbreon were OP lol. Im proud of those level 100s to this day. Also through this game I got my 3 favorite Pokemon: Hitmontop, Heracross, and Octillery I would seriously shit my pants while crying if they make another sequel. Lets get a new Pokemon Colosseum sequel on the Wii U, Genius Sonority please www.change.org/petitions/genius-sonority-make-a-sequel-to-pokemon-xd-gale-of-darkness-for-wii-u
Honestly, this game should have gotten a remake instead of a hoenn, I literally have thousands of ideas of how a to make a pokemon colosseum remake 100x better than the original (which was already good) with tons of new features. Imo hoenn wasn't really fun to me, Cipher and Team Snagem were much better and more difficult organizations to fight than Aqua or Magma.
DarkSpyro707 I'm fine with the Hoenn remakes existing, though however much I'd like to see remakes/sequels to this series, I understand why they don't exist, because there's less of a reason for them. It would be interesting to see how things would work with the changes up to gen VI including: Experience from snags? Reusable TMs? The Physical/Special split making many Pokémon, such as Sneasel, actually usable? Yes please.
+DarkSpyro707 I hope you get invited to nintendo/gamefreak so you can make an amazing remake of this game, the soundtrack was unbelievably amazing, the story line was different and exciting, and the mechanics in general were different and fun, only being able to have a limited amount of pokemon makes it more challenging plus catching the legendary pokemon with not very good pokeballs as well. All and all I'd even go as far as saying I'd buy a Wii-U just to play a remake of the game or even a sequal to gale of darkness(Which I'd definitely enjoy more
+DarkSpyro707 Don't tell me that "Team Snag'em" was a good organization. Between that and Dark Lugia the console games stuck out like a elementary nerd's Pokemon doodle-game.
+DarkSpyro707 Yeah, but we're in that time zone where it'd make perfect sense for a remake. Colo and XD came out after Hoenn, so if there's gonna be a remake, it'll be soon.
Colosseum was a great game, but it had lots of flaws (in terms of the length of the game, the level curve, the strength of the opponents, how many Pokemon you could catch, cut-scenes, and so on). If they did a remake of Colosseum they would need to make LOTS of changes imo. Don't get me wrong, the game was great, but I know Pokemon can deliver better, so a remake would have to be quite different to be up to standard with the main series games imo. But I'd prefer a Pokemon Stadium 3 most of all.
Oh man it was ALWAYS my fanfiction for the team from Ruby/Sapp to team up with Orre! My sis owned this game and I owned Sapphire and we'd battle so often that I thought of it lol.
The last time I played this game was in 2007. I didn't think I would fully remember the music but the minute I watched this video all the memories of playing this obsessively until I beat the game came back. I remember every song.
Why do a lot of those pictures in the video look like they are from an anime? Is there an anime of Pokemon Colosseum? If so why haven't I heard of of it?! Someone tell me where I can watch it!!
Clarus Nox I heard somewhere that they did actually make one, but, as usual, it never came over to the US. I'd have loved to see it, too. These games were epic. Plus, most of those images look "real", if you get my drift. They're too good to be fan art.Oh, and I heard rumor of a possible sequel to XD. If this is true, it'll be for WiiU and feature seven Gens. And yeah, that's not a typo. But if you do the numbers...they should be approaching that new Gen soon. So we might see that legacy continuing....I seriously hope so!
from the look of the fanart colosseum would make a perfect anime. the plot just works, and then XD can follow it up some day. its not even open for interpretation like the other pokemon games, it has a cut and dry story with main characters instead of blank canvases with vague personality
People always wonder where my music taste came from...I always wondered where it came from.....and then I played Pokemon Colosseum again and all I hear is some funky beats. XD I shall always love this game and if someone were to make this an anime, all I can say is they would have to keep the old music. Wouldnt be the same otherwise.
I wish they would create another for the Wii U, XD: Gale of Darkness wasn't the sequel I was hoping for. It would also be pretty cool if they remade both games into one disc for the Wii U, being HD versions of course.
Please please please remake this and XD gale of darkness for the switch or bring out a sequel or both! Honestly the best Pokémon games I've played on console, brilliant story, music it has everything. Protagonist was cool AF! 👍
Considering the great job Genius Sonority did at nailing down a different Pokémon game without feeling off and making perfect 3D models for Pokémon at that time, I would love to see them make another game again now, especially with the Sw/Sh controversy
Listening to this makes me want to replay the game, but that would involve deleting the hundreds of hours of progress I made since there's only one save file.
it needs an remake or a new part :o i mean i played it already often and i still cant get enough of it the Story is great the pokemon ideas also and i löove the pokeballs there great Starters and great main characters
Dude, they went so hard for the music in this game and it makes me really sad thinking about it. Mostly because I can't see another pokemon game made with this much love and care put into it, especially since sword and shield came out I can tell those days are behind us. I hate it, but god damn I love this game so much and atleast we still have it and can go back to play it again.
Would love to see this become an anime, I'm scared what they will do with Miror B and his music, or his voice *shudders* damn Miror B and his Ludicolo's
Those two eeveelutions were still the best starters I've ever had in a game. Okay, maybe Empoleon wasn't half bad, but damn Espeon rekted face and Umbreon tanked everything.
27:33 i feel ya bruh, i was looking for pyrite town sound track. some people just dont appreciate the work that game designers put into making the sound track of the game we play, and what makes them playable is the fact that more than one of our senses are involved. Music takes up one of those senses and that is one of the things that keeps us coming back for more. I still hum this song to this day in public places and people ask what that beat is, "thats some smooooooth jazzzzzz boy, whered ya her that tone from? Aren't you more interested in tha rhymes than this stuff?" can you believe if i said its form a video game? and i hate rap (rap that raps about booty and bitches, i like meaningful rap: Hopsin).
With all of the controversy regarding the exclusion of the National Dex in Sword and Shield, I'd honestly be willing to forgive them if they dropped this and XD on the eshop. Bonus points for a remastered version, but I'd be satisfied just to play these games as they already are portably.
Okay so does anyone know where the synth-sax sample from Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run away with me" was also used? I swore it was in this ost, but I'm not sure.
Aww man! The feels! The nostalgic feels are coursin' through my veins XD Colosseum was my first Pokemon game ;D It was one of my first GameCube games :) This game has my fav songs, too ;) I can't contain these feels XD
Real talk. This game has some of the best music in poke on history.
@Elijah Steeby's Super Smash Bros. RUclips Channel we all do. But this is a spin-off so its never going to happen :(
Elijah Steeby's Super Smash Bros. RUclips Channel or maybe whos knows they’ll add it for a dlc stage on smash ultimate

EuroMIX2 Exactly. At least two of those reasons still apply. Someone needed to have decided to make it.
C.J. Stanbridge

Ah. I guess we'll just have to wait until it enters the public domain and make our own.

WHY DIDN'T THIS GET AN ANIME ADAPTATION!?
@Yuneek oras was good, sm not, usum goodish. But agreed--this game is too epic to compare!!
This game needs either a remake or an anime adaptation. (Now, now, lets remember that pokemon anime adaptations without ash are amazing)
@@frankbalatbat1804 i would agree and buy it if it came to the switch. i would also buy gales of darkness as well in a heartbeat
star43able agreed, I have so many many good memories of the GameCube Pokemon games, I would love a switch remake/ remaster
A remake would honestly be pointless. The game is perfectly fine as is. Another sequel would be better. Preferably one themed around gens 4-6 with emphasis placed on actual strategy
Ace Hunter Blake I get that, and it sounds great and honestly it could work, but tbh it probably won’t happen (*´Д`*)
@Yuneek Have you played both Gamecube games?
Pokemon Colosseum 2 please.. ;_;
*****
Colosseum was better , the first Boss in XD had 1 Pokemon on lvl 20 , thats 6 lvl below your first Oponent in Colosseum
deaththekid922 I think Colosseum wins for the atmosphere (Gritty/Underground operation/serious), and XD wins in general game improvement with every single added mechanic EXCEPT the fact that if you snag a pokemon in a fight and lose, you don't get to keep it AND you still lose the balls. Brandon Stone And purification in XD was dumb.

The Legacy Of Kaizer It is considered the sequel to Colosseum because it's basically about facing cipher again. The character from colosseum is even referenced to be the one who took them down originally.

If this is true, it'll be for WiiU and feature seven Gens. And yeah, that's not a typo. But if you do the numbers...they should be approaching that new Gen soon. So we might see that legacy continuing....I seriously hope so!
PhoenyxRysing that would be awesome, and i'd have a reason to buy a wii u
This is perfect... Well I would say that, but it's annoying how I have to click the pause button if I want to hear Nascour's theme.
from the look of the fanart colosseum would make a perfect anime. the plot just works, and then XD can follow it up some day. its not even open for interpretation like the other pokemon games, it has a cut and dry story with main characters instead of blank canvases with vague personality
I like this Game and Soundtrack. But I missing this Game. I hope this Game Comeback as Remake.
The Normal battle theme is pretty epic.
Someone needs to make Colosseum into a manga or anime!
+SoulReaper Reaps yes that would be an awesome game hack, we should ask someone to make it done.
I wouodnt mind teaming up with you and doing one!
Pokemon Snatcher Leo exists, you know.
I WANT A NEW SHADOW POKÉMON GAME
This was my favorite childhood game and the soundtrack was a big reason for it. so much nostalgia from this
Four dislikes? Must be the Cipher Admins.
3:11 And yup, my childhood just exploded.
can't beat that normal battle theme. i don't think another pokemon game has even come close
The words at the bottom spell orre.
I wish they would create another for the Wii U, XD: Gale of Darkness wasn't the sequel I was hoping for. It would also be pretty cool if they remade both games into one disc for the Wii U, being HD versions of course.
aaaaaaand mindblown. Damn this is the best ost I've ever heard. my childhood is coming back.
Please please please remake this and XD gale of darkness for the switch or bring out a sequel or both! Honestly the best Pokémon games I've played on console, brilliant story, music it has everything. Protagonist was cool AF! 👍
Pyrite Town's theme has stuck with me since I was a kid. Love this soundtrack
Cipher Admin Battle gives me the chills
without a doubt one of the finest soundtracks to accompany a game in a long time. Well done The Pokemon Company :)
Hello fellow Colosseum fans. GCN era was so good, amirite?
That's an understatement
I believe someone could get this game and XD Gale of darkness as a ROM.
The closest you get to playing as an adult character in any main series Pokémon game...
Holy crap I loved this game so much.
One of the top OST's going around! Nostalgia city 😍
Every song makes me get goosebumps... Six years of my life in Pokemon Colosseum and XD.
A core game on the Switch. There is hope.
it needs an remake or a new part :o i mean i played it already often and i still cant get enough of it the Story is great the pokemon ideas also and i löove the pokeballs there great Starters and great main characters
I swear I felt like I was an undercover cop tryna bust mobsters and mafia in this game lmao
Dude, they went so hard for the music in this game and it makes me really sad thinking about it. Mostly because I can't see another pokemon game made with this much love and care put into it, especially since sword and shield came out I can tell those days are behind us. I hate it, but god damn I love this game so much and atleast we still have it and can go back to play it again.
let us hope a really good coder can rom sw/sh into this lovely bud of my childhood. this games story with updated graphics would make a mint!
23:27 awwh yeah buddy that's my jaaaam
Would love to see this become an anime, I'm scared what they will do with Miror B and his music, or his voice *shudders* damn Miror B and his Ludicolo's
Some of the pictures look really good actually. Especially the one with Espeon and Umbreon struggling to get up
God the Cipher Admin battle is such a good song
I'm just glad I'm seeing a picture of myself
Best Pokémon game ever made.
The best "Pokemon Game" ever.
Okay so does anyone know where the synth-sax sample from Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run away with me" was also used? I swore it was in this ost, but I'm not sure.
I used to have this before my dad lost the disk about a year ago, now I still miss the game but I love the music!
Aww man! The feels! The nostalgic feels are coursin' through my veins XD Colosseum was my first Pokemon game ;D It was one of my first GameCube games :) This game has my fav songs, too ;) I can't contain these feels XD
I love the main games, but this and XD put an unexpected, completely awesome twist on Pokemon... I wish I had the time to replay them both...
3:10 CHILDHOOD 😢
