Indeed. I imagined it being a fun roleplaying gimmick too, even if the Rune Knight’s growing ability can’t be used often. There’s some shenanigan potential there if you happen to have a silly filler session.

Pixie Lich . . . the Tiny Terror nearly impossible to locate. Fairy Mind Flayer ? Interdimensional travel allowed the tiny one to be transformed. WereSpider or WereWasp seems like such a cute friendly addition to party adventuring, until the full moon ! :-O

pixies can fly between 3-9 miles per hour sometimes faster in some law, they are the projectile when you give them a 4 inch thin spike

played a "pixy" that specialized in necromantic magic in Pathfinder Kingmaker. Ended up being the queen of the kingdom, was originally a greater fae, that tried to usurp a higher position among the fae, and got her powers stolen as a result, ending up in the form of a pixy. Decided forget them I'm making my own kingdom with an army of undead.
Undead pixy queen sound pretty dope. Or would it be pixy queen of the dead??

Hii, I have been planing to play a pixie (tiny homebrew fairy) for quite a while, the first game is awfully close and I still have no idea how to roleplay them.
Did you do any fay trick not harmfull but that fitted during your quest?

Is it me.. Or do Pixies have great looking thighs. Thighs that would crush your head with Bludgeoning damage of 2d6 + 5 or something. Cause dang some Pixies are hot and also deadly.

I confess im kinda on the fence regarding size. On one hand having them roughly hand sized would do wonders for their evasion and offer alot of opportunity for getting into difficult to reach places.
On the other hand, if you doubled their size then you could give them a ring of strength to use as an arm band, and they could just fly around carrying a dagger to just come up at enemies invisible and shiv them in the eyes.
Oh~ What if the pixie had a Pseudo-Dragon and just rode it into battle?
Pseudo-Dragon Cavalier would be a terrifying thing.
just have a fine point pixies are actually stronger than you thing due to square cube law. give thm a four inch spike and they are th most deadly thng on the planet

Currently been homebrewing pixies for the game, and with the size issue this is what I came up with:
*Lightweight*. “You can fit into any space that is Tiny or bigger without squeezing inside it, including equipment other creatures might be wearing or carrying. You can attempt to hide in this space and you can also spend a short or long rest inside such space. Whenever an object or a creature takes damage while you are inside the object or inside the equipment a creature is wearing, you take bludgeoning damage equal to half that damage (rounded up).
Additionally, a Medium or larger creature can try to grapple you with one free hand, and you have disadvantage on Constitution saving throws related to alcohol poisoning.”
AKA you can travel inside one of your party mates’ pockets instead of walking or hide inside their armor, but one day an orc might squeeze you in their clammy hand if you are not careful….and you can’t hold your licor.
It’s all about the little trade offs I believe, so you can balance things out. After all, a pixie would not feel like one if it didn’t fly and casted spells with their magic dust imo. So you gotta come up with ways to nerf em a bit.
Another thing about their size for instance: when in combat, pixies control the 5 feet a Small creature would…but only while flying. And their flight, well. I made sure it works in a way that they can’t stay airborne forever.
Again, lots of trade aways in exchange for each cool ability.
I think you've got some good ideas here. Disadvantage to poisons rolls aka boose is kinda funny. You can get away with perinante flying I'd you remember that hovering in place still takes a move action. Keep up the good work

That’s a weird way to spell “A Midsommer Night’s Dream”.
Now imagine this, instead of playing 1 tiny fey creature you play a small colony or a army? I think it would make sense since a single tiny pixie dealing what, um 8 damage with a toothpick swords vs a hoard of pixies stabbing you all over causing 8 damage sounds kinda right, also it makes fighter, monk, barbarian and paladin more playable, maybe they would have abilities like dividing into 2 groups but still share the same health pool and movement... another method to make pixies playable would be to change its size to small instead of tiny or give them the ability to change between tiny and small
if you wanted to play a swarm I could definitly see that being a viable option. check out the swarm rules from 3.5 or pathfinder

You basically hit every nail on the head with this thing is weapon damage is actually wrong, it should be boatloads of damage, you stabb someone in the eye through to the brain I don't care how big or small the weapon is that's doing an insane amount of damage and due to the small size it makes them preportionatly more accurate since it's a larger target on average it is a huge advantage and pixies with sharpened knitting needles is probably one of the most deadly assassin's in dnd

@@Rookzer0 no problem, I use a custom altered combat system in my games where I changed the weapon damage to be more realistic and not just the bigger the weapon the better, so it's odd for me to remember that things like daggers actually deal barely any damage compared to the 4d6 I give them to make them more realistic murder weapons, I balance this by giving armour innate resistance and immunities, as well as giving dissadvantage against any weapons significantly larger than it to make it harder to easily put out high damage, fortunately bringing it back to the fairy topic, I would remove those disadvantages as it's going to be a smaller yet still as deadly weapon with a 30 ft fly speed (90 if you rouge double dash as any rouge, this gives an amazing damage dealing, Spellcaster assassin scout and I really want to play a character in that way
That would be the worst, trying to hit this Tinkerbell creature and they just keep stabbing me in random areas cause they're too quick for me too hit. Oh that would be a nightmare for the larger races.
I absolutely love hybrids. So i would want to do a half human half pixie. Im thinking maybe the pixie father had enlarge casted on him. So while temporarily biggish thats when he got it on with the human woman. It could be wonderful lol.
I think that would basically give you a changeling not the doppelganger type but ... well maybe that's another video

Pixie vampire ? tiny little blood sucker that can turn invisible & the DM quietly subtracts -1 hit point per turn but won't tell the person what is damaging them... unless a dispell magic reveals the hidden pixie snacking on the player !
Zombie Pixie ? One Tiny & seemingly easy monster ... until a swarm of dozens or hundreds of flying Pixies zombies attack..
(They Player Characters had initially found a scout zombie...)

I played a 2nd Ed pixie in a Harper campaign the best thief around ( he wasn’t) but oh opening a cursed scroll in a party members face then having a grudge held against me was fun until I saved him from falling to death I was waiting for a wish to make him a mage/thief since his magical ability from being a high level thief and pixie
Sound like a fun time. Did you not want to multiclass or were you looking to mythic level beyond 20 with the wish spell
Me: (Rolled a 15 on Charisma) I Offer the Pixie a heart shaped cookie in a form of a non-aggression and friendfull approach.
DM: You rolled a 15. you convince the pixie and she flys over you, look at you intensly and lands on your shoulder.
Me:(To the party) Hey guys check this out! Great!
Later that nigth the Rouge chats with my character and firlt a little.
DM: The Rouge wakes up with his hair
intertwined with roots and plants. The only thing to do to free him is to cut his hair.
Me: What happen?
DM: The Pixie cause this. The Pixie is now in love with you, and she will get jealous and play pranks if someone else try to firlt with you.
Me: ....Oh no...

That's awesome, did you cast spells or did you have a bite attack? what dice did you use for it?
@@Rookzer0 I used a bite attack with a d4 and could caused a bleed effect based on wisdom if I knew where veins were and stuff. I also casted some spells revolving around the pixie dust
Im starting playing a fairy in a new campaign next week. Im very exited, i was creating this small race for the last 4 month. The game version is 5e and we will play the waterdeep dragon heist adventure. I was very happy that a fellow play was ok with it, that we create a linked background. He is a draw rouge and we are very close companions. Baseicli i live in his backpack the char i created is a fea that was banned from the feyworld and is searching for a way to come back home.
Are you taking any negatives for your size? are you playing small or tiny?
@@Rookzer0 Im playing as a tiny creature. The carrying weight is half. And I have a -1 for strength. I Also limited in the carrying volume, my gm decides what and when I carry to much.

so im new and just got into a group for court of the ice queen dnd 5e and I picked a fire pixie and now I'm kinda worried about the health pool lol but it def makes sense i should've considered that hah. Tho I have thought that I might be either throwing her out their to die or bloom in the cold
Being tiny can really give you an advantage. Hide when you can. Fly all the time. Hide in the wizard bag. You're gonna be great!

I think crows are a danger to pixies because they are scavengers, they do eat meat and hunt occasionally. they are also extremely smart, talk to each other and hold grudges. so if a pixie pranked one they will remember... forever.
could also have to do with the fact they are associated with death so hanging around battlefields and where ever humans drop bodies, to pick at the dead is kinda their thing. if pixies have mortal enemies that do the same it's only natural they'd join forces. Crows are super loyal when they adopt you.
one of my players plays a human. humans are rarer in my world depending on region though.
also pixie rouge blackmailing people is kinda dope. my halfing thief/bard has a pixie follower she could probably train her to do that. Dandelion kinda has an incentive she was kept by a human lord before she was rescued.

I don't see the problem with having players having a flying speed, as long as their flying speed is tied to their dexterity and constitution. For every +1 you get 5ft of flying speed meaning that if you want to go fast you'll probably will have to compensate somewhere else and maybe give them a minimum requirement in some other stats. Yes flight especially if it doesn't require concentration is very useful, but if you don't want to be completely useless strengthwise, be a dump mindless person, who's very unperceptive and ugly you'll have to put some more points in some other stats, resulting in lower flying speeds that can get faster as you level up. Of course there is also the duration of your ability to fly and sty aloft, which I think would be very logically tied to your constitution.
(This would probably also work really well in making the aarakocra feel more balanced. ''You want to be an aarakocra sure not a problem but you'll have to work for that flying speed (at level 20))
Interesting way to look at it. I've never thought of birds being very hearty but having a constitution to stay airborn does make some sense. you may just want to allow mix that in with a survival check for long flights though. just like forced marches.
@@Rookzer0 birds kinda float with the air currents kinda like wonder woman 86(lmao) which is how they can fly for so long so it more like charisma cause if their feathers get ugly (damaged) they wouldn't be able to fly as efficient

Sounds like a good plan. any wizard with greater invisibility can do that though so not to far of a stretch.
What'd the difference between small or tiny? because I want my character to ride either a white bunny with red eyes or a battle Corgi!
You get an additional -2str +2Dex and +2 ac for being tiny. as well as an advantage on stealth but you can no longer use reach weapons your melee attacks must be at 5ft.
I really like tiny creatures. you could even go diminutive if you want but swap out the stats for -4,+4. Id go with the Corgi but let me know what you choose!
Small means like a dwarf or a halfling, someone’s only a few feet tall. Tiny means 1 foot tall at most. I think diminutive means basically small enough to measure in inches like you would in feet for a medium sized person, like 5.3 inches height
I want to play as a pixie but I’m a little new to the game and I need some sort of an outline. Like what are the stat modifiers what are the proficiencies what language can they speak that kind of thing. Any advice would be appreciated.
