my guy mike played like he was the one given the challenge lol
@@Dcurc2257 lmao
I am 1800 and I can definitely beat this challenge againt eric blindfolded
@@shadyashraf1031 mike is 900 :)
@@shadyashraf1031 That's not impressive lol
@@zyrrdrac yeah and he lost as expected .. what do you want ?
I swear if anyone beats me down two rooks and a queen at anything but bullet, I'll stop playing chess.
yes, even that guy is magnus
@@farhanaditya131 yup
Kindly asking, what would be your rating?
I will not. i love chess i have already blundered my queen 1000 times so i wont stop playing because of 1 game, even though 2100 should not be losing like that🙂
honestly if i lose down a queen even vs magnus carlsen in anything but bullet I'm quitting chess as well, 2200 over here (all time controls)
Wow, to start -19 and end with +4 without having even queened a pawn. GG Eric!
I believe the unstoppable queening is calculated into that +4. But yeah!
@@MIIC2 1 extra pawn and a bishop is exactly +4 so it's the pure material advantage
@@MIIC2 it's about raw piece values, not computer evaluation

Why 900s dont give away their bishop for a pawn against me dawg
Because if you were playing, you would've taken the bishop with the pawn, allowed Rf2+ and blundered your bishop on c2, then would've thought that this 900 is a genius for setting up this clever tactic.
In reality, 900s blunder their pieces all the time in one way or another, you just don't see that.
@@maxkho00 nah this guy was more like 400
they probably do, but you dont see the move lol
@@maxkho00 sure, im about 1k. But this guy played way below 900 this game. 900-1000 elo dont give away pieces for free generally
@@Ism0Lait3la As a 2000, I can confidently tell you that you are wrong. He easily played at the 900-1000 level. Not only do 900s hang pieces regularly, but Mike only straight-up hung one piece (his queen) until his rook blunder in low time. Most 900-level games don't finish without at least one piece hung, so I see no reason why this performance by Mike should be considered sub-par for his rating.
When you're up a queen and two rooks you attack and trade like crazy, don't play passively.
obviously force trades
just trade everything lol almost every trade is winning lol
Just sac to open up the position, I tried against queenless stockfish and I was able to easily beat it
At first I saw the 900 rating, and I thought, "come on, Eric!". Then I saw the game and that he had to avoid trades and even simple wins of material. Great job, Eric! Entertaining as always!
I just wanted to say that there is a lot of arguing and anger in the comment section over how well Mike played, so if you decide to scroll down, brace yourself.
I think Mike is a paid actor. 900 is not the best elo but it doesn’t warrant this kind of play.
Gotta be staged. Why would you trade queen for knight, throwing 500 dollars away
@@MrMordecai I’ll gladly admit I care about 500 dollars
I'm sure he already wanted to gift the 500
900s suck. The sooner you realise this the better...
There's a move in chess called a "blunder". That was probably one of those.
I think the 900 played all right. Eric made it extremely difficult for the opponent to trade, and had superior everything positionally. very fun watch
The 900 played all right WTF?!?!?!
lol if you can't win with 2 rooks and queen up.. clearly you didn't play "all right"
@@OArchivesX all right for a 900 lol. 900s are supposed to hang mate in one every move no?
@@MarcoMate87 he played what i expected for a 900, obviously with flaws but there was logic there
He played really bad. Not overall bad, but horrendous by 900s blitz standards.
Cut mike some slack. He just wanted to donate 500 dollars without making it obvious.
well, I didn't see a checkmate on the board...
i would’ve just traded 2 rooks and queen with the knights and bishops
Well Mike is
Imo, just trading a knight for 2 borders pawns (giving you a passer), would have been more than enough
@@shadourow-bathory6965 if you play well it is enough. Again, that's when people stop being 1000.
Just the passer can be barricaded quite easily so you still have to put in work.
@@Gabriel64468 You're right, but barricaded by usually more than one piece, leaving the GM basically with only pawns and his king to work with
@@shadourow-bathory6965 wouldnt work if they had rooks and queens
Eric didn't win by checkmate yet mike still donated $500
I’m 800 and I can beat stockfish from this position
With only 5 mins?
Yeah, it’s certainly doable without time constraints.
stockfish 1 eh?
What level stockfish though? (not that Ive tried myself)
The highest level of stockfish ofc. Being ~800 elo just tried it and it's ridiculously easy. I didn't watch the start of the video at first and thought this opponent was either trolling or first time playing chess.
@@NowhereMan7Just try it. Stockfish is an engine and doesn't know how to trick, especially when down material and it plays the best moves, so it sees all the threats and reacts to them accordingly even if you didn't see them. So it is extremly easy to trade all the pieces down and win.
Please he has a family, kids to feed, bills to pay, and a life to live. Mercy I beg.
Mike is a genious! He can't checkmate you if you resign!
Mike doesnt owe him anything. He said win via checkmate; Eric won via resignation.
If someone was being really technical, I agree. There's these proposition bets, where there's some trick like that. Only a conman plays that sort of game though, IMO. Not a "sportsman."
@@michaelbauers8800 yup true
wasn't the opponent the same guy as the doner .. if so, he could resign endless amount of games instead of getting checkmate ... and it's hard to checkmate to begin with.
win by checkmate? ha, i resign!
Mike rly tried to give it away
But you didn't win by mate, you won by resignation
I'm confused on how so many people have a spare $500 to drop on twitch
Money laundering
Rich kids. Good jobs.
I'm rated near 900 blitz and nobody actually plays like that. I know people in my rating are bad but nobody trades a bishop for a pawn... Or randomly lets knight take queen. Hard to believe this is real
Don’t flatter yourself. I am about 1500-1600 and regularly give away full pieces to non-GMs and my opponents luckily for me do the same. Also, don’t underestimate that it is easier to blunder when the position is tricky and Eric is trying to make the position exactly that.
Lol even 1000 rated player won't play that much bad
What's the significance of the knight h7 comment?
Didnt win by checkmate though. 🤔🤔
4:28 Finally the answer to "Two bishops, vhat else?"
so wheres the checkmate?
Where's the 100 subs?

Mike was doing well all the way through as eric said .. all his trades were perfectly fine except the bishop for pawn and rook blunder at the end. I say he played like a 900. Good for him.
@@AbdallaAmeri I dont sacrifice bishop for pawn and dont blunder something more than 2 pawns in endgame
@@crysta11ikzxc yes but this was not a normal game, he desperately wanted to break through a gm defence since he was up material. He did it the wrong way obviously.

1:07 May I ask what was remarkable from Nh7? New at chess btw, thanks in advance
Most lower rated players don't even think about moving their knights backwards to re-route it to a better square, so when Eric saw him re routing, he thought his opponent must be planning some special sort of a play or an attack :)))
@@ArtcticKnightX thank you very much, ir makes a lot of sense know, I appreciate it!
@@nahuelporta1648 no problem mate, have a good day!
@@ArtcticKnightX such good manners, hope u have a good day too good person! :)
Just to add to what is said, it also sometimes depends on context. There are many times where backward knight moves such as to h7 is done to reroute it somewhere else or to unleash the c or f pawn. On some rare occasions, it is done purely for defense. So the backward knight move can be the sign of a lot of things. You can sometimes see this with bishops too where they awkwardly return to f1 or some other strange backward move.
I can't even checkmating without rook and queen. He's so good
Still waiting for the checkmate :P
what's the big deal about Knight h7?
This move is underdeveloping, knight has much less activity there and control less important squares.
@@semanel2472 thanks

1:19 does that means good or bad 😬
I think Jan said that in one of his banter blitz that he plans to publish a book on how to win a queen up, very recommended
900 rating? He needs to wake up and apologize
Trade everything but your queen.
All you had to do was trade pieces! Have to try to lose this badly
opponent was braindead
Mike should have let his clock expire so that he wouldn't have to pay.
Eric can give him time
That 900 learned alot of tactics from alpha zero ..
I liked the gambits he made..
I would love to see a game where hes allowed to have all the pieces on the board buut just can never move the queen and rooks. Also has to incorporate them into a checkmate by leaving them in their original square.
Dying to know this unreleased song :(
So Mike also chose to throw away his Queen. Interesting....
I know what Mike thought losing that bishop for a pawn... Nothing.
That guy is the worst 1000 I have ever seen.
When you first start playing it starts you at like 800. That’s prob what happened here.
Mike should never be allowed to play another game in his life.
How did you manage your nerves after that thumbnail? I'd never be able to.
Like riding a bike with no back wheel (or brakes)... pretty good.
can you also show occasions on youtube where you lost a challenge?
i can hold my own against him being a queen up, with a queen and a piece i will definetely win
Thats not interesting
Eric didn't win with checkmate though
checkmate or the other person resigns because its inevitable - same thing.
Eric asks a 900 player: Do you want candy or a whoopin?
900 player: ugh..ugh?..WHOOPIN!?
This happened to my buddy Eric
he won by resignation, not checkmate tho lol
What’s the outro?
A man of his words.😂
technically wasnt a checkmate
Eric needs some sunshine.

love this video, nice👍👍
the guy against eric was the biggest noob ive ever see
They said you had to checkmate them and you didn't cause they resigned.
jk
mike was a genius
yikes - didn’t win by checkmate 🥴
No 1000 rated player like me need time pressure to commit blunder.
Mike should have just resigned then he'd have won the bet... wasn't checkmate? A classic chess hustle there. xD
great content, and amazing challenge :D
He could just ran out of time and not win by checkmate
He resigned. Technically also not a win by checkmate.
and the deal was 100 subs but he donated $500 lol
@@nischay4760 100 subs is 500 dollars though?
@@damiester1 it costs the same but streamers only get about half of the money from gifted subs, so chessbrah got much more from the donations
Mikey putting up a stiff resistance
he changed a queen for a knight???
900 was idiot, that is the magic and a reason why master managed to win
As a fellow 900, this guy was trying to lose 😂
Eric. I challenge you on a match exactly like that for 500$, i can send you money first to give you the confidence :)
are you proud eric? 😂😂
Great vid!
why just wait with your queen in such position , just go for the throat man!!
I'm literally a 700 rated player and that queen hang made me sick
GG but IDK why streamers like gifted subs while twitch is taking 200$ from that 500$ why don't they just direct donate money for theme! donating websites at most takes 5% someone explain this ro me please
It boosts their subscriber count which makes them appear higher on any twitch stat pages and also keeps viewers who get the subs coming back. Monetary-wise you're right and some might prefer that. I think psychologically, people prefer to give things that are not directly cash; which is why gift cards are so popular even though the concept is kinda dumb if you think about it.
For which purpose the guy Lost queen when he could save it without problem, it is not level of 900, it was to much stupid
This guy was like a 200. Or he was trying to disguise a losing effort
naaahhh no chance he's a 200. He played WAY better than I would and I AM a ~250 that's how I know lmao. I watch 5 min. games with ppl around 1000 and they still miss obvious things, blunder hard and fuck up bad. It usually snowballs and It definitely happens. With more time my guess is he doesn't fuck it up. I doubt it was this guy's best game but I doubt he lost on purpose. Could be wrong tho obviously can't see inside his head. 🤷♂️
He did not checkmate, though.
I would have been impressed if he checkmated a 2000
No checkmate though lol
There was no checkmate tho) So technically resignation doesn't count xD
Technically that wasn't a checkmate soooo...
Next: Checkmate with no pieces at all (-39).
10000$
Man how can u be sp low, but still think u not
That's embarrassing to say the least
WTF is wrong with that 900, he is like worse than 200 elo players!!!
All Mike had to do was trade out the pieces then easy win
How is this a bet tho? Eric is just freerolling to win subs
5:40 paid actor
I believe you.that wasn't fake
you didn't win the bet.... because you didn't checkmate anybody....
This is far from the best 900 I've ever seen.
This has to be the worst 900 of all time
Stop bashing on Mike, he played alright for a his rating. If you think you can do better you would be surprised how many games you would lose against SF with odds.
I am 1200 and I always beat stockfish up a queen in less than 2 minutes, it is very easy
Is this even possible? This is chess not checkers.
