Hi Billy 😊 Enjoyed video today! My husband, was born in New Bern NC, wow, it's a small world, you never know who, or where our paths cross. Will be looking forward to seeing future videos, thanks 😊 for sharing! Your friend Bonnie
I grew up and lived in the next town over for a good part of my life..
Thanks 😊 for sharing Billy! Bonnie
really nice vlog !!
I live about 48 miles from New Bern, and New Bern has been very good about KEEPING!..MOST of it's history....Unlike Greenville where I live 48 miles away..which has been tearing down it's history . ..for years..
Merry Christmas Billy and family TCB as usual, great video
Merry Christmas to You and Yours!!
That is very cool episode, not only because of Elvis history, but because of the Shriners building 😀 their work with crippled children's hospital is the reason I can walk today!! They paid all of my medical bills for my leg operations, God bless them
I am very glad they helped you Dwayne!! Merry Christmas!!
What a great find-the Shriners Hall, Williams restaurant, Pepsi...fascinating info
Cool auditorium they played!. Hank Snow, Louvin Brothers, Jimmy Rodgers, good grief-all legends! Hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas 🎄
Hey. I live in the New Bern area and have the original newspapers from 1955 that belonged to the Newspaper Company. I found the ads for the Shrine Auditorium announcing Elvis would be there...
You deserve a Medal from Graceland for what you do for the memory of Elvis and for the Fans, Thanks
Awesome I will have to check out this location
Great teamwork and video!
Great job Billy.
Elvis is my favorite! Last year my mom and I stayed at The Guest House. We visited Graceland and all the Elvis museums. Also we drove to Tupelo and saw Elvis's birthplace and church!!!
It was surreal to walk in Graceland!!!! I will remember it forever!!!!!!!
I'm a Pepsi drinker too! It's my favorite soda! And everytime I drink Pepsi, I think of Elvis! Also we visited the hardware store where Gladys purchased Elvis's first guitar!
Whoa! sounds like a once in a lifetime trip!
Spar guy thanks Richard ann coventry England have a great u year happy Christmas thanks for your channel
Great Job Billy 👏👏👏I LOVE IT
Very cool vid!!!
Fascinating seeing the ads for the shows in the true context of the contemporary newspaper. Strange to think all the people that would have been reading that paper at the time completely oblivious to the name Elvis Presley. If they only knew what was to come!
Spa Guy, it is very interesting to see where Elvis performed (glad the building is still standing, historical places in Nashville torn down), the hotel he stayed in (beautiful), and where he ate (love to eat in a restaurant like that, wonder where Elvis sat). Oh, if Elvis lived longer to tell about his early touring days and later on too. What an interesting, unique man and performer, it will not be another one. From A Nashville Girl (MUSIC CITY USA PROUD!)
I think it is interesting too.. I live just north of Nashville..
@@SpaGuy , I did not know you lived near Nashville or in Tennessee.
I was there … but that was in his early days before he became a star. However, to we teenagers certainly saw his potential. The reason I was able to go was because my uncle went to see the Bluegrass band performing that night. My cousin & I were inseparable and this show became quite a memory for us …. Up front seats too!!!
Love it.,, thankyou Spa Guy ,,, Hope you all have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you Billy & family & everyone who makes all these fantastic stories come to light & talk & share them ,,,,MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁🎉❤❤ Xxx
Merry Christmas to You and Yours!!
@@SpaGuy thankyou x

Nice job finding the concert advertisement along with the venue tour.

Spa Guy Merry Christmas. Wish you & your family a very happy & prosperous 2020.
Merry Christmas to You and Yours Tarique!!

Thanks again! Nice Elvis history part again.
Thank you Spa Guy, you give us so many informations! Your videos are very very interesting!
This was an amazing, interesting video for all Elvis fans! I am from Williamston NC and born in 1951. I have been an Elvis fan since I was 5 years old. I NEVER heard of Elvis being in Kinston and New Bern.
I want to have Ronnie McDowell see this video. He is an outstanding talent that loves Elvis like I do. Just in case you don’t know Ronnie McDowell, he lives in Hendersonville, Tenn. He has more talent than you could possibly imagine. He also is all about Elvis history! You might really enjoy making the short trip to see Ronnie, his art work, his music and his lovely personality! We helped Ronnie get started in 1977 in Eastern NC. Ronnie also played in New Bern. Jordan Foss booked the shows. I would love to hear that you have had the opportunity to meet Ronnie and be entertained by his stories and his life. Thanks for what you do in keeping the history of Elvis alive! ❤️ Linda O Jernigan
I have videos of Ronnie and I on this channel.. I live in Hendersonville too..
Thanks again Billy. The family and I sat around the TV and watched this one. Bless.
You take us to places and tell a story of Elvis being there, Enjoy your work
Merry Christmas Spa Guy. Be blessed in 2020
How cool to see this video now, after I just watched your video for Ernul, NC. Somehow I missed this one when you shared it in December. Seeing where Scotty got the postcard that he mailed in Ernul is really amazing. It's amazing to think about all the small towns they went to and all the people that got to go to the concerts.
I think this type of video shows you that he really worked hard to get to where he did..
@@SpaGuy He sure did! Thank you for seeing the importance of tracing their journeys through the US.
Very interesting! I've always been a Pepsi gal. :) That building is still very beautiful, I'm glad it's still there. If those walls could talk! I just love seeing the places where Elvis played, especially. Thank you Billy and Bill.
my guitar repairman attended the May performance and talked to elvis during intermission,.
At Graceland now! Just spotted the spa guy sticker on the post up front by the guard shack🤘🤘🤘 wish you were in town bud ide love to buy you lunch! Big fan here! Im in town from south Texas for a few days for the elvis experience! Bucketlist😁🤘
I would love to but not in town yet.. Will be week after next for Birthday Week..
You always bring it Spa Guy!!
Happy Holidays!!
Merry Christmas Spa Guy! Thanks for another great video.
This was awesome.
I’m loving that Southern Charm. I never thought I would want to leave NYC but lately we have been questioning it.
If we do, I think it safe to say I would want to be somewhere that mimics your hospitality and kindness.
Live in New Bern, been in entertainment for 20 years. Never knew any of this.
Cool Stuff Tim.. I played music around there but moved to Nashville about 22 years ago..
@@SpaGuy I did the Nashville thing under another name for a few years from 99-05.
Interesting story, And Bill singing part of That's All right, on the same stage that Elvis played, Awesome!
Trajetória de sucesso desta Lenda, Elvis Presley. So love!
Thank you Billy.
Feliz Natal para você e a todos os seus familiares.
Merry Christmas Billy and your family
GREAT JOB as always! Always coming up with GREAT Elvis videos!
Newburn ot is lol loved the video
Merry Christmas everyone. Thank you Billy for another great video. Looking forward to more like this.
Another historic video. Keep the great videos coming spa guy.
Another great video boys- thanks. Hope someone saves that painting and large period photo of that Shriner place. The King lives on- through his work, fans and videos like this. I also would bet the King sees it and is pleased. TCB here on earth and in Heaven.
New Bern need to put a sign up about Elvis 😎
Another great Elvis history lesson. Very good work Billy...and by the way. I like my leaf blower. 👍🏻🤣
Spa Guy can't wait to see what you bring us for this new year 2020. About Elves keep them coming love all your story's.fan from CALI.
Thank you spa guy for another great video. So much information about Elvis in the early days of he's career. I love seeing the first places he performed at. Then to compare till later years. I enjoyed the video. I was born in 1965 also. I think I too was born an Elvis Fan.
WOW..... I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point (Havelock) as a Marine from '85 - '89, but lived in New Bern, NC and also never knew he was ever there. I cant believe the town doesn't promote that in some way so we as residents there would even know.
They are only interested in Pepsi.. I said that to them and that is what they said..
Thanks for sharing interesting.Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and your family Billy.
Billy, While you are tracking that "Hill Billy Cat's" progress through time,
you have discovered and shown us things and places that we never
would have even known about. I thank you SO much my friend.

It's sad to see these old buildings that are left to disintegrate
Great job billy
This so cool. I was born 1966 and raised in Melbourne Fl. My son has been to New Bern many times and he adores that town. I have never been 😞😞 My nephew is in the shriners. God bless I learn so much from you.
For about $700 you can attend the elegant southern style event at Grace Land in march. I think it includes a river boat cruise with Priscilla Presley.
Sounded really eerie, but cool when Bill sang "That's Alright" in the Shriners auditorium.
Seemed eerie to me too Bobby :)
God I did time new Bern North Carolina did not know Elvis Presley play in that town
Ok now I know why he can sing so well. I always comment while watching. I need to watch first and comment later.
Amazing and always interesting thank you Mr. B and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 😀👍🏻👍🏻
I used to frequent New Bern a lot when I was in the Marine Corps. I loved Wilmington.
Always a great day when there is a new video from Spa Guy. 😎 There is no way to get enough learning where Elvis was and where he performed, ate, stayed....how is it he only lived 42 years? Thank you, Billy, for bringing us all these stories. Fantastic!
Another stellar production!! Merry Christmas to you and your family my friend and best wishes for the coming year!
Merry Christmas to You and Yours!!
Now my Monday is complete, was up early this am waiting for Spa Guy's new video.
You do a great job with your videos love the Elvis Presley info keep up the great work
Hello my friend it's coming up 11.55pm christmas eve here in england loved video my friend wishing you and your family a happy Christmas and happy new year and thanks for all your work you have done this year entertaining us all thanks russ
Merry Christmas to you and yours Russell..
I'm so glad SpaGuy your getting around these places it's so nice to see what sort of venues he played at 👍👏 Elvis sure left his mark on so many places and many more to come
It's 10:25AM Tuesday here in Brisbane, Australia and we're in a mad rush to get everything done & dusted here at work. I've just sat down to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee and to watch your video out in the clouded sunshine which is good as I can see the screen better lol. I can't thank you enough for all the joy you've provided throughout the year. There were so many moments during your narration just in this video alone that brought a lump to my throat. I especially love seeing the then and now comparison pictures, and seeing inside the venues that Elvis, Bill & Scotty performed at back in the early days. So, many thanks for all you do behind the scenes - all the research, phone calls, driving long distances & in traffic, adverse weather, leaf-blowing interruptions during filming, hours of editing and uploading and all the other things that I am not even aware of, so that I can sit here and chill for a while.
Well, back to work for me. Cheers Billy.! Merry Christmas to you and yours. ~~Peace~~
-Deb.
Thanks you Deb!! Merry Christmas!! I count it an honor!!
Dad has some COOL boots there. :)
How the heck did they find these out of the way smaller towns to play in and WHO would have been doing the Bookings about this time Billy?
Scotty? Col Tom Parker?
I mention it in the video Bob Neal would have booked the May and The Colonel would have booked the September..
@@SpaGuy They must have STAYED on the phone back then. I know just booking my little local band envolved me driving and calling many American & German clubs. It must have been crazy on Elvis' level then. LOTS of miles to drive for sure. :)
I cannot even imagine.. Scotty did it first and told me it was really hard but he managed it for a year..
Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and your family Billy.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to you Billy.
People can say whatever they want to about Colonial Parker. Without him there would be no Elvis or he wouldn't have gotten as far as he did. You have to give credit where credit is do and, I thank the colonial for for helping Elvis. My Dad was a big Elvis fan so I have always been a fan of his. I'm getting to know him more with these videos. Thanks you for sharing these videos. I like Pepsi more than Coca-Cola too.
I just watched your video of Ernul, NC and see here in this video you originally thought the postcard Scotty sent must have been mailed from Richmond. Since it was stamped from the Ernul Post Office, you must have figured it out sometime later after this video. Love how you pick up on the clues and follow on through.
👍👍👍👍😀🌠🎅🎄⭐💝💝💝
Elvis left a lot of buildings
