This song has so much meaning to me and to have my favorite band cover it is a gift.
You can skip my story but I've been working at sea since the late 90s. Often I'd be out for 42 to 56 days at a time. My fiance got cancer in 2006 and over the years there were some pretty hard breakdown moments out there. You can't exactly take a walk or even just go to bed and sleep when nature's beating the crap out of you. Can't call home. It's the closest thing I've known to solitary confinement. But music got me through it and this specific song, in various covers, was a big part of my musical catharsis.
Anyway, today was another hard day until I found out that Gunship did a cover and that's all I needed to turn this day around.
It's weird to say I love a band and literally mean it.
One of my favorite movies as a kid was Rad. This song played during the BMX dance scene.
I literally hand-to-mouth gasped when this came across my feed. One of my favorite 80s tunes being covered by my absolute favorite band? Pardon me, just gonna hook this right into my veins.

I can't listen to maybe one or two songs by ANY other artist every day. For months this has been the way. I am so glad to see a good cover of this wonderful song from the 80's. As a senior in high school when this song first came out, I would love it when this song would come on the radio during that long drive home after a football game. I thought about "that girl' and that she was my "angel". I still think of her today and this song just refreshes all those memories of long ago.

I'm feeling kind of gipped here. I loved the album teasers you posted for Unicorn, and pre-ordered it and bought it on Bandcamp, but nowhere did I see the deluxe version of the album that would have had this song on it. And if I did, I would have bought the deluxe instead of regular.
I try to buy all my music from Bandcamp because it has ALAC downloads. Feeling sad now. ☹
