  • Diminishing Mundari is a documentary film i made as a college assignment, to highlighting the realities. Not only mundari is diminishing but other traditional languages as well. This was my very first initiative to create something out of the box rather than my regular videos or travelogues.
In Jharkhand, the tribal population has reduced by 30 lakhs as no one knows under which religion they are categorized. Only few know which religion they belong to and some got converted to other religion to find their identity. That is why the real tribal community has been reduced to a minority at 26.2%, in their own state which is expected to further slide down by next census.
Tribals demand for the Sarna Adivasi Religion Code arguing that when Jains with an estimated population of 4,451,753 across the country, according to the 2011 census, can have a separate religious code, then why can't 104,281,034 nature-worshiping tribals living all over the country not have a separate religious code?
I am learning and I am open to suggestions whole heartedly.
    Yours Loving,
    Ankita.
