  • This slow train beat is a staple of traditional country music and a "must know" for any working drummer. This Track features my boss Jay Demarcus on bass, James Mitchell on guitar, Kevin Adams on piano, John Jeansonne on Fiddle and Travis Toy on steel guitar. This is 1 of 124 play-along tracks available with my book "Survival Guide For The Modern Drummer." to get you copy, go to jimrileymusic.c...

The tracks in this package are vastly superior to many play-alongs. Instead of a looped riff repeated ad nauseum, Mr. Riley's tracks are actually songs. It allows players to work out fills that actually fit in the tunes. Each tune is unique and stylistically accurate. Great book. Highly recommended.

Fantastic job. Love the fiddle and steel guitar. To me those are two key instruments in country music. Love to hear em.👍🥁

Hi Jim. Was taking a student through this tune and decided to see if anyone had uploaded their take on it and was pleasantly surprised to see that you had dome a video. Was very helpful to see that you were playing 8ths with the right hand. My student could also see the sorts of fills you used too. Thanks. Great book. My students love it and I have fun with it too.

Great example Jim, I’ve been looking for a groove type solo over a train beat I get a small solo during a Johnny Cash tune with the band I’m gigging with and so far I’m not digging the crap I’m coming up with 🤦🏻
