Man I love cosmic horror. The feeling the scenes in the lighthouse gave me, I can't describe it. It's almost terrifying, you really don't know what the fuck you are looking at or listening to, you can't relate it to anything and you don't know what it's motives are. It's just, there. Truly an otherworldly experience.
And that is probably what an alien encounter would be like. Everyone's thinking of these humanoid aliens always, for some reason.
But I mean, they can be anything, they can be something beyond comprehension for our small minds.
Sure, there could be an alien out there that's grey and tall and similar to an insect; But there could also be a floating cloud/light thingy that hypnotises people and manipulates their DNA. The possibilities for life are endless.

Demons is just a way for humans to explain entities they cannot understand. Same as angels, and God. We have the ability to create virtual environments and AI driven beings within computers. Any higher being capable of creating the universe in a similar fashion using math, chemistry and programming on a super-advanced quantum computer would be considered God. I'm always left very curious about how Moderat even created the song initially. The film has such a beautiful atmosphere to it, such an intrigue to it that I'm left in awe. The song fits so well with this and with the overall score, that I was confused when I saw it wasn't on the OST. Then after a few more googles I found Moderat's album with said song, and I felt complete again. But it just raises further questions when you examine how the song came first... how? It's so ethereal, so other-worldly, so alien. I've since listened to Moderat's entire catalog as well as his contemporaries, and I like a lot of the tracks I heard. But nothing comes remotely close to The Mark. What inspired it? Do I even want to know? It's almost not even a song, just... emotion. Confusion mixed with serene beauty mixed with threat of the unknown.
I want more, and yet I think the song is all the better being as alone as it is.

From the moment I saw it in the movie I was hooked.
This movie helped me envisage how the big bang would look if it went into reverse, and we all went back together, into that one, tiny god particle, at the beginning of the beginning. When you think on it for a long time, you kind of feel a resistance in your mind, i wonder if that boundary is there by design or am i just at the limits of my psyche? Love this music.

This song, or rather, whatever this is, because a song is not suppose to ake this amount of feelings, is something so beautifull and at the same time terrifying.... For instance it can be interpreted in many ways , you can see it fro what it is mainly used , cosmic horror.... but this song came out even before the movie so that is why its so good.... For some reason i connect it with something from my childhood that I saw, that lead me to my recently profound religion..
