Sometimes the greatness really hits you hard just as you leave the club/gig/ concert after getting to see a extremely rare happing, a most brilliant band playing live on stage in front of your eyes, the shock is so great and you can not speak, you think that you might be dreaming so you continue on with the dream until a little later you realise that you have struck gold, you have hit the big one, you eyes and ears have not lied to you, that was/is real. I hope that I have explained, English is not my language it is foreign to me

Stop saying what I say over 3 years ago, only Joking, you and me and the rest of the world are completely correct about this most brilliant band, some would say the best dressed hard-working men with brains around
They are mighty, they are the new most flipping brilliant band in this world, Just what my doctor ordered, He said James you have not been well since the very great Phil Lynott & Rory Gallagher passed away, You need to get some new best quality and most rare music into your bloodstream again and regain your youth and bad boy ways, yes that is what my doctor said to me, he said go and listen to the Fontaines D>c, 6 times each day and for no less than 14 hours each day/night and in a little time you will fully recover
This band has is a mix of many other very brilliant bands sounds, mixed in with their own, yes they have got their own style, there is also a bit of Dublin town, a bit of James Joyce,( who said Jim Morrison of the Doors) they have got everything, they have got life, they have got wonderful stories to tell,, they are going to make a lot more people very happy with their music
Fontaines D.C. is every English and Irish post-punk band I loved from the late 70s/early 80s rolled into one. And it feels like a loving homage/continuation of a tradition, not a rip-off (see many many Brooklyn bands in the early 00s). Someone finally got it right.
Please don’t put English and irish in same sentence...........are you not listening to the lyrics,.....spits out ,Brits out only smokes Carrolls.........100% irish...........only irish get the carrolls.
@@breenwalshe7667 that lyric isn't anti-British though in the context of the song. It's about an immigrant to Ireland who feels the way for him to fit into Irish culture is hating Brits and smoking Carrolls. The band are taking the piss out of that attitude
These guys kick butt. Going to see them in Boston and Glasgow in October 2022. So talented. Love the guitars and Drummer is class. How much am I gonna have to pay to get them to play in Cork!!
This is music to my ears, it is a type of poetry, a type of storytelling, I have a funny feeling that my 2nd cousin James Joyce has a little to do with band, I have a feeling in my bones that some wise person will not agree with me but they would be wrong to do so
dude these guys are awesome! just discovered them and my first impression they remind of bands like nada surf, a little sex pistols because of the vocals and classic 90s indie rock, for 2019 these guys kick ass! these guys should start touring along side bands like violent soho.
Band is stellar. The crowd is a bit of a dud. Is this a press event? A lot of proper cameras in the audience. It must be a lot more fun for the band when the crowd is in it with them, which this crowd isn't.
i now like all there songs as before this i didn't really like roys tune. btw are television screens and the lotts singles if not where did they come from they are good songs tho
Yeah, they sing "spits out brits out" because that's the attitude of the character in the song, an anglophobic dublin cab driver. the lyric is an indictment of that kind of thinking and worldview. also, they are an IRISH band, they're not a UK band. They couldn't be any more Irish.
i don’t think this audience realised the greatness they were witnessing

@@jamesbradshaw3389 beautifully explained, thank you for this perspective. so true.
i know!! wtf! they are soooo super calm dude! wake up!
No they didn't. Same with Jimmy Kimmel
Keep walking this way guys and the world will follow you. How many years we were waiting for a new brilliant rock band!!!
one of the only great rock bands to come out of the 2010's
Well said. Best band I have heard in years 🇮🇪
You were right.
Your comment has aged like fine wine

I'd never expect a singer that is a cross between Shane Mcgowan, Ian Curtis and Mark E Smith.
You are bang on
Nailed it
There has to be a heavy dash of Colin Newman in there, or is it Wire complete?
And to complete the mancunian vibe...a bit of Morrissey as well... innit mates?
napinrags1 That would be cool, they share no common ground politically-wise, though.
They gonna be big
I said that about Suede once.
A Face in the Crowd hahaha😂
His childhood was small

Absolutely brilliant.
Collecting these gems for keeps, there are already BIG, stellar performances. On repeat.
Grian Chattan paces about the stage like a junkie who's dealer is late.
Or he is channelling his inner Ian Curtis.
Up the starry plough and fuck fascists mate
@@TheKavo97 Good lad. Saoirse go deo.
aren't they always late ?
The way forward is to go back! Saw them last night in Boston - Strong Show. This video is great.
Saw you in king tuts last week,The place was bouncing and you were brilliant...Had to be picked up from the floor 3 times,...World record for me
I discovered this band during the pandemic- this performance got me through the darkest time..
Cheers boys
These guys are on fire!
Make me feel 21 again - okay maybe my absolute age - but this is one of the best guitar bands I've heard in years.

At last a band has come along that makes me sit up and take notice, hasn’t happened since the 90s

The Lotts is soooo good - so late 80s i love it

Is this too real for ya ???!?! Brilliant
My favorite band of 2019. Looking forward to their stop through Minneapolis in September.
I saw them in a small club with the Idles last spring, and they blew me away. Have a ticket to see them again in a larger club next month. Love them!!
Class lads. Well done. Fair play. Can't wait to see ye at all together now.

Inevitável dizer que o vocalista lembra e muito a Ian Curtis. Chego a dizer que é um Joy Division com The Sounds e The Fall. Bom demais
O rock nunca morreu....
these guys are legit.....look fwd to seeing them live.
Same!
génial .une tuerie a l irlandais .la trance n est jais loin .musique shamanique.
Shot horizontally:)
A band from Dublin Ireland
Probably no need for us to mention that ....
Chapeau, comme on dit : franchement, it's very good pour les oreilles...a voir aussi, ce que je ne manquerais pas, j'espère
Un peu de Pixies dedans aussi. Pogues…
Ahhhhh loving this band for a few months now. Then you see one of them is a fellow gooner (L)

Brilliant! Go on Dexter!!!!
Thank you!
The spirit of Mark E. Smith hovering about somewhere.
Does his wheelchair have wings?
Flashback !! Der Sänger erinnert an Ian Curtis ..... Toller Sound!
Last night in Zagreb, what a show!!!!!
I may use that as the title of my autobiography -- "Last Night in Zagreb" -- even though I've never been there.
"Last Night in Zagreb" -- what a great title for something.
@@AFaceintheCrowd01 you have to go to Zagreb, my favourite city I've been to' stylish and chill. Safe and beautiful.

This concert is in the Vera club, in Groningen, the Netherlands, where Eurosonic takes place.

Awaiting the new album on July 31. I have heard two songs from it, and they sound great!
The 2 new songs are excellent so am really excited for it's release!
Chuffin awesome bout time a real band came to the fore

Crowd is piss poor. Do they realise what talent there seeing. Obviously not!!!
This was filmed at Eurosonic Festival, it's a showcase festival.
Jesus that crowd are either stoned out of their boxes or just dead.
How are these guys not huge already?
Gregg DeMammos they’re gonna be big
Their new album will increase their popularity no doubt about it. The 2 new songs are excellent!
Monky but their childhood was small
someone told about these guys saying they're great fellas in person, fun songs
punk parabens!!!!
It sucks that peddler’s toy didnt make it to the album, such a great tune
Time stamps are completely wrong. Sick set though
Yeah, I think about one song behind for each?
It's not even as simple as that, they're all over the place! Can't wait to see them in November!!
Let’s not compare just enjoy
Hi Ian.

Best line in Rock: Sha sha sha

All across the Nation...
Excellent show by Fontaines DC but what's with all the moving with the camera ??? I'm getting dizzy
Is it just who thinks of Joy division when I hear them? Brilliant stuff.

Do these lads belong to anyone?
Carlos, conor iii and tom looked so different here lol
Fucking class
Anyone else here drink in the lotts?
Even though they sing spits out Brit’s out, they’re still the best band to happen to the UK In ten years
Idles are great too. They toured together in the US last spring.
