All I have to say at the age of 33 I enjoyed my teenage years playing tag,hide and seek, man hunt,king of the mountain and more this new generation is stuck on FB and more it’s sad because I see kids now and they are stuck home in a phone and games I would never trade my child hood playing in dirty mattresses and getting dirty and hurt for this ages.
Exactly right. I have children around your age and it's pretty sad to think that most kids now will never experience life without a phone/internet stuck in their faces. Yes there are important gains with new technology but so much has been lost. It really is sad.
I’ll be 35 in 22 days. I can’t even begin to think what my childhood would have been like if social media was as prevalent then as it is now. I had enough issues with self esteem and being bullied, and I can only imagine how much worse it would have been.
I don’t have Tic Toc though I must admit I have thought of downloading it. As a 47 year old woman it just doesn’t seem like something I want a part of. These kids are so misinformed as to what life is all about. I am afraid for our future and the idiocy we have created with snippets of people doing things they have no business doing or saying. It is so sad that everything revolves around being a bigot, a liar, a cheat, an idiot or any number of other disdainful adjectives and that this is what our children are learning. I am sad to see my generation (those having been born in the 70’s to early 80’s) is most the last generation to have played outside from dawn to dusk. To run the neighborhoods and feel safe in doing so. Being told “Be home before the street lights turn on.” We would get lost in a world of creativity and imagination and were able to just be kids. The last generations to be taught cursive writing, doing math without a calculator and not having computers in the class rooms til high school. We didn’t have cell phones, the internet and all the technology but life was more simple and way less dangerous than it is today. I am afraid for future generations as we are going to lose more and more of what makes us humans because of technology. My biggest hope is that we could ban together to make this world as amazing as it was meant to be. Thank you for your comment and the thoughts and questions that it brought to my mind. I work with kids with special needs at a public school and and the bathroom trashing TikTok TikTok thing has made it extremely difficult for us to allow our kids with special needs to restroom in the the hallway restrooms. This is led to our special needs students having excessive behaviors and being extremely upset when unable to use restrooms due to vandalism. I would like to tell these kids that the actions they are taking are having drastic effects on kids with special needs so please stop it!

Yes one night at 2.00 am I was on my own walking home when a single young guy crossed the road next to me . He said give me your money I have a dirty needle in one hand and a knife in the other.
