Your whole vibe feels different. You're so much more relaxed, and it is definitely showing in the bouquets! You always have beautiful bouqs, but you are right in saying, "WOW!" (In Nicole's voice 😆) PSI love that you add the updates at the end of the videos. You definitely don't have to share that with us, and I can imagine it's hard to do.
I am definitely more relaxed! I think talking about the business stuff not only took a lot more bandwidth to plan but also made it feel less relaxed bc it wasnt. Nowadays I’m really out enjoying the flowers while making them. I ended up deciding to add the updates at the end for us to be able to look back on the journey as well as help others see what the true cancer journey looks like ♥️
The bouquets are gorgeous! The flower growing community is the best- so great to be able to provide stems to each other, have avenues for wholesale, and different types of retail to fit each individuals needs. And i love how our gardens are able to "grow" with us as we go through life, sometimes providing us with different things each season, but meeting our needs ❤️ You mentioned the paper wraps and i wanted to tell you ive been testing some different paper options and have something in the works- if im happy with the order i should have soon, id love to send you a sample to test for me!
Oh Jess, am very proud of the way you have adapted to the situation. I know the feeling, when I was experiencing the lowest of the lows, its flowers and plants that were the best therapy.
don,t cut off your gerbera daisy,s whit your pruning shears, its better to pick them out fully bij hand (carfully bend them over ) Than there is no pice of the stem left in the center of the plant, it prevents rotting and you get more flowers! (workt at a gerbera daisy farm for 26 years 😅)
The callas are beautiful! I have 3 clumps, and only 2 flowered this year because of our cold early summer (Junuary 🥶). My cosmos are amazing. I learned that I don't need as many plants as I thought! Each one is a small shrub and reblooms like wild. Thanks for explaining what your method is!
You are so right, you don't need as many plants as you think! And love that your callas are beautiful. Hopefully they will produce will for you next year! Lol Junuary😅
I'm new to your channel (via Cranery Garden). I learned from Garden Fundamentals channel that interplanting is a major boost for beneficial soil bacteria (just like gut bacteria needs us to eat a variety of fruit and veg). I loved how you chat while making a bouquet! So lovely.
Aww thank you and welcome! Yes! Interplanting is amazing because there are so many symbiotic relationships that can be formed. We often only pay attention to what is above the soil, but it's what's below the soil that actually matters more!
Hi Jess, glad to see you enjoying your farm... A yes for sure for Arenas, 8 months it took mine from seed to bloom. Blooms ate still coming. Asters don't like crowding in humid conditions I have found.. but my main stems are 4-1/2 " wide. Loads of side shoots.. Cala's are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your time in your gardens. Praying for continues healing, wisdom and peace. Shalom.
I know! It’s a crazy building bc the first floor looks dated and then you go up to the ninth floor and you’re like “where am I??” The CHOP waiting area is already nice but MSK’s was like playland 😅. She cried when we had to leave to see the doctor
I am LOVING my double click cosmos this year! I make whimsical bouquets full of mostly native to North America flowers. I am running out of space here at our house so we are looking for a place with more property so I can expand my flower growing in addition to adding animals to the mix. I really enjoy your videos Thank you for making them despite your family's situation.
Good morning and I love the Alpenglow zinnias. I hope your daughter is doing well and this journey goes the best for her .Know that you are in my prayers and that we wish the best for your family ,always love watching you.
Loving the rose lilies. I’m in the southeast, 8A, and haven’t had much luck with asters either, so I’m going to grow them more as cool flowers, perhaps trying a fall succession and an early spring. Not sure how cold hardy they are but definitely don’t like the hot and humid.
I actually think the asters need to be planted even earlier like around Mother’s Day! They need the long day lengths to establish and flower when the days get shorter. Planting too late = super short stems. To your point, they don’t like hot and humid so I tried putting them in shade but that didn’t work lol. My main issue was I wasn’t diligent enough in watering them in properly in the beginning 🫣
Wonderful news about your daughter's progress! Have you given any thought to growing alliums for your bouquets as filler flowers? Vesey's, a Canadian company is having a fabulous sale on their fall merchandise and I am going to buy over 300 allium bulbs at a fairly decent discount. You may get a better deal from your bulb wholesaler, something to think about. Nice thing about allium bulbs is that they are perennials! I love the blue drumstick alliums that are true blue in colour and would look fabulous in a bouquet!

It is nice to see how well you are coping with adversity. Best wishes to your daughter.

What about windbreakes along your borders? Shrubs or trees that can also serve as fillers and leaf compost or nitrogen fixers?
Bouquets are looking Fab!👌🏻
