I just love Bassitt so much, I could listen to him talk baseball et al forever. Always with the thoughtful, candid answers with a positive attitude and outlook that never seems forced or phoney. Also, great questions Rosey! As a Jays fan, you asked everything I wanted to hear. Well done, all
So now i love chris bassit. I love this show. Im grateful to get to know awesome dudes like this that all id otherwise know of him is hes a great pitcher on a team i dont care about!
Im a simple guy. Degree in marketing, owned a couple financial industry businesses and now i raise cows... But those genious mathy money guys i know all seem to feel the dodgers will be able to use that deferred money to make at the very least the majority of it pay for itself. Meanwhile as an all time great... Seems like shohei chose his legacy as a player is worth more than money. I applaud that our athletes whos careers are all on a timer have the flexibility to choose their own definition of success!
You can’t choose your legacy, it’s unfortunate that the Angels never gave him a chance before now but he’ll get his chance this year to perform in the playoffs.
Wow Chris Bassit is a super awesome guy, thanks for this interview. If Freeman and Betts were blue jays I wonder if Ohtani would’ve chosen them. Blue jays are top notch team.
Everybody is missing the big picture with Ohtani. I have been observing his body language and expressions for the past three years when the Angels are losing. Ohtani knows that the Angels are Trout's team, and he has patiently navigated through the past three seasons. Now, he is the big guy, and watch out; he will demand 150 percent output from every teammate. Yamamoto will not be a Dodger because he knows the demands Ohtani will place on him. I feel sorry for the bullpen relievers because they don't know what's coming. All the teammates have to do is pay attention to Ohtani's facial expressions. That goes for the manager." Ohtani is a 24-hour baseball machine, just look at his daily routine.
first he worries about how much $ is deferred for the Dodgers to pay in the future. Then, he answers his own worry. Yes, they're gonna sit on that deferred $ and it'll grow multiple x's and all that deferred $ will easily be covered. And correct, Shohei will end up getting less $ because of the deferment, but, u don't think he knows all of this. It's not about the $ for him.
On the Angels/Trout thing.. how about changing the narrative to what the actual problem is? Arte Moreno needs to sell the damn team. All the good left from Disneys tenure is officially withered away & Arte can't hide behind it any longer.
Love Bassit, such a great addition to The Blue Jays

CBass so glad the Jays got him tied 3rd in the league in wins last year tied with Eflin for the most wins in the AL with 16
If I was a Cleveland Guardian fan, I would want Chris Bassitt so bad rn

Thanks for the clarification captain obvious.
Yeah the owners and player union are definitely going to crack down on this in the next CBA. It’s a smart move by Ohtani and the Dodgers though!
We scored 1 run in the playoffs get it right

Shadiest Blue Jays pitcher ever all he knows how to do is load the bases and give up a grand slam wall purposely pitching to the heart of the plate
