I love the paint show! This one seems nice just as a red...I do like the dark created with the ultra blue.

Thanks Liron... excellent demo... especially appreciated showing it against other reds. This is another one I've been curious about. I'm not awake enough to figure out why but I don't care for that pigment. Full strength it actually looks opaque on my monitor. I do like the gold it made with Hansa but that's about it for my palette.

Yes - it definitely has its own character, won’t be a fit for everyone 😛
I think Schmincke’s Perylene Dark Red is a little more versatile.
      Thank you!

I use it as my dark red in my set as it leans a bit to the cooler side of red, tfs

Thank you! It was hard for me to tell whether it’s cooler or warmer. I guess a lot of this is relative too (:

I don't have Perylene Red. From your demo here, this color looks really strong. It might easily overpower some of the other colors that you might want to try it with. Play around with it more and you'll discover just how much of the red to use with other colors to create the mixes you want.

Very true, it’s very strong and won’t be fit to everyone (:
As I said in another comment here, I think Schmincke’s Perylene Dark Red is a little more versatile.

I really like hansa yellow and french ultramarine but not so much perylene red, but where I live I actually save $5 if I buy the set than hansa yellow and french ultramarine separately lol

Your Hansa Yellow Med looks more lemony than mine. I thought it was a really close middle yellow. Thank you for the highlight of Perylene red.

Ok. Love your show, mainly this intensive single pigment series. I could watch even the ‘popular’ pigments done this way. Honestly I already own too many paints, so I was watching more for information. I love my perelynes (green, maroon), and I also am a bit DS quinacridone fan for reds. Grrrrrr. By the time you’d mixed it with the blues, and I could see the amazing blossom textures (looks as crazy as QOR!) I had to go look for your amazon link! Hope you get some benefit buying through your links. By the way, don’t think everyone prefers variety of brands, if DS is rocking your boat then keep going! Xx (Melbourne,Australia)

Thank you for your nice comment 😁🙏🏼 I’m really happy this helps!
It’s super expensive to just go out and buy all of these, so hopefully people can enjoy them that way (or maybe it makes people buy more 🤔).
I do get a small commission when you use my links - so I thank you for that 🙏🏼🙏🏼

May I ask about that palette box. Is there clear plastic involved with color swatches on paper under the clear plastic. Who makes it?

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan  6 лет назад

      I made the swatches 😊
Today I wouldn’t, but back then I was a little more obsessed with knowing exactly which pint is where.
The palette is great for that, as it comes with an extra tray.
So all you have to do really is cut out a piece of paper that’s the right side, and insert it under that extra transparent tray 😁

Liron Yanconsky yes...but who makes the box...where can I order

Hey, not sure if you found the model - it's a Mijello Airtight Palette - I think this is the 18 well version. There's also 24 and 33 well options (they don't come with transparent insert though, just white mixing insert). It's pretty cheap on Amazon right now - www.amazon.com/Martin-Mijello-Airtight-Watercolor-18-Well/dp/B0049UZEWQ/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522448890&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=mission+mijello+airtight

Rosemarie Oh great! I have two and am ordering third as well :D Don't know what it is, it inspires me to create thematic palettes and I find them very useful. Happy painting to you too! ^_^

I bought that primary set and finally gave up in frustration at the strange separating tendency of that red when combined with the blue+yellow - I kept getting ugly orange blotches and edge-stains in my earth tones. Even on the palette the red didn't want to stay mixed together with the blue - it separated out. Yuk.

I never got to see the smaller Daniel Smith tubes (:
Do you prefer them? I always prefer the largest tube I can find.
