- After Ho Chi Minh we made our way north to Hoi An Ancient Town and Danang. The highlights were definitely the traditional Vietnamese Basket Boats and Dragon Bridge! We stayed in a 3 story Airbnb in An Bang Beach and would recommend this area! Our street was full of local kids, we loved this Vietnamese Village and felt like we were immersing ourselves into the culture! Definitely a better way to experience a country rather than staying in a 5 star resort full of tourists in our opinion!
The flight from Ho Chi Minh to Danang/Hoi An was just over an hour. This area is located in central Vietnam. Half way between Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.
The food and markets in Hoi An Ancient Town were amazing, we tried the traditional/local dish of Hoi An called Cau Lau, this is their signature dish and can only be found here! Eli once again ate Banh Mi all day, everyday!
The lanterns and river boats in Hoi An Ancient Town are just beautiful. The city lights up like a Christmas Tree at night. We've never seen so much colour in one place!
We then went on to enjoy bike riding the local streets and visiting the organic farms in Hoi An. The kids tried their hands at some local Vietnamese games.
Danang Beach was beautiful, it was so nice to lay under Palm Trees and feel the sand in our toes again. Beach day for the win! It also felt very tropical, just like our hometown of Cairns!
The Dragon Bridge in Danang was lots of fun. This dragon blows fire from it's mouth every weekend at 9pm! Don't miss this if traveling to Danang!

We are enjoying the homeschooling and manage to finish every day at 1pm so then we can explore the beautiful countries we visit 👌🏼 we went to Halong Bay which will feature in our next video but didn't have time to visit Phong Nha Ke Bang but hopefully next time 🤞🏼😀

Is Hoi An a place where retired foreigners would live instead of the big metropolises??
Definitely! And we loved Danang Beach and An Bang Beach also! So great places all around Hoi An! We did visit over their New Year so it was a extra busy time but definitely recommend 😉👌🏼
@@Sky_surfers_ Including retired age people? Especially who can't stand anything like New York, London, Singapore, Saigon etc.
Yes, it has a very different feel to cities like that and the beach areas are a lot quieter:) I would recommend you visit for a few weeks and explore all areas of Hoi An then decide 😄
We also loved staying in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh for this reason, it was a lot quieter and that area features on our Ho Chi Minh Video.
What was the price of that house and for how long?
This was called Shadyside Map house in Hoi An and it was 7938000 VND for 5 nights so about $490 AUD and that included breakfast each morning as you see in the video ☺️

The whole trip to HoiAn seems so much fun! The part where you played games needed more tourists to have more fun, the boat part should be less :)
