Love to clean my room and bathroom first ,makes it seem like everything just falls into place with getting everything else done on time .and if i need a break i sit in my room and can relax .even if its for only ten minutes. Its peaceful and keeps me motivated.
As a mom of 4 kids, the youngest is now 11, teach them to clean up after themselves. Teaching them the habit early is the best thing you could do for them. Kid's morning routine- make bed, get dressed, etc. Kid's evening routine- put away toys & books from the day, lay out clothes for tomorrow, etc.! I really enjoy your channel but from someone who tried to do it all, get them to help. They can even have daily jobs around the house! Once the jobs are complete, they can watch a movie! I just wanted to show you some momma love. It's super easy to get burned out and overwhelmed! (Trust me I know!❤❤❤)
Wow ! So much have changed ! I remember the declutter videos of the dining room, the sunroom, and the kitchen ! I really enjoyed following your journey so far !
I really think your older kids should have to tidy their own rooms every night. Mine are grown now but they have taught their little ones to do it also.
So excited foryou, after your awesome decluttering all the routines will go faster. That was my experience, still working on it. Thanks for the motivation and sharing your journey!
Assign each family member a cup for the day and have them rinse it and put it in an assigned location. Have the kids clean up their own rooms before movie time. They will keep it nicer. It’s fine to help them, but you can’t keep up being a one man show forever. Trust me when they get older they actually get messier.
You are so inspiring! I am not a minimalist- at all, however I am the most organized and tidy hoarder that you will ever meet. Since watching your channel, I have gone through my entire house and will be starting on my basement next. More then 75% reduction. So, thank you! When raising my kids, their friend’s mothers would act in disgust that my children all had chores. I never understood that. Although they had everything, they were taught to respect what they had. Without knowing, I too taught them to be organized and tidy (hoarders) with daily chores. Now, as they are adults - much talk about minimalizing. It is all a learning process. Truly, I am learning right beside you!
I'd love to see what your reset looks like now, you've decluttered so much snice this video. I love watching your progress, you give me so much motivation. Keep up the good work ❤
My favorite room to clean is my bedroom. It doesnt need a lot of work. It's usually putting things in their rightful place or getting rid of stuff. But cleaning the kitchen and bathroom are most satisfying. I feel so accomplished when those areas are clean.
This is me, but you should teach your kids to clean and tidy after themselves, that will be a huge help for them when they are adults if they learn that now.
Yep. Your children are little. Time to make them help pick up so they develop good habits. They can do small chores like put their dishes on the counter near the sink or dishwasher after dinner. They can wipe off the table with a damp cloth. Teach them to wipe the crumbs into a pile or into their hand. They can push their chairs in after use. Of course none of this will be done perfectly, but it gives them a share in participating in the family. They will get better at it as they get older. You just add more chores as they get older. No reason for you to have to pick up all those Legos a little toys on their bedroom floor. Picking those up is a must before bed. You get the picture. It takes time to get them to cooperate, but you will be much happier in the long run. The bonus is that you teach them to become self-sufficient i’m totally able to care for themselves and a home by the time they are adults.
You must be absolutely exhausted every single day. My daughter is not even allowed to leave her bedroom in the morning if her bed isn’t made and her toys haven’t been put away. I won’t do it for her because I have enough to do without having to pick up after her. If I go into her room to put her clothes away and her room is a mess she gets a visit from “angry mom”. She is expected to keep her own spaces clean and tidy and we manage well because we have designated places (that were agreed upon) where everything goes and I have showed her how. Kids love to be “mommy’s little helper”, so it’s a really good thing for them. You really amaze me. I don’t understand how you can declutter, homeschool, keep your house tidy, play with the dog and still fit in cooking, eating and sleeping. You are super mom! 😁👍🏻
Why are you the only one cleaning, picking up, organizing? As a Home Schooler, this is a valuable lesson for the children - being responsible for cleaning up after themselves - not expecting someone else to do it for them!
I think you'd do well to buy one of those small outside rakes for your boys carpeted area and under their beds! I like cleaning my kitchen and my van the best, after that I think it's laundry for me.
I love cleaning my bedroom, I pull everything out clean it all, including windows, inside and out. I clean my bathroom every day as I am ocd. I have to make sure it’s clean before and after I have used it. Hope you’re having a blessed day.🌹🌹🌹🇬🇧
If you ever have time to take baths, use the leftover wine in your bath water. You would think that it would be drying to your skin, but it is not and make the bath water smell really good.

Julie, these are the BEST ones I've ever used. So easy to clean in the washer and dryer, and they really fit so well on the chairs. I've probably washed them 20 times and they still are the same blue color. Here you go! amzn.to/322t52z
Keep a large pliers in a drawer near the sink to remove the plastic pieces from water bottles. Great start having the kids pick up their stuff & put it in the basket. Next step: Have them put the stuff away too! You work too hard!
I am so impressed that you have carpet in your dinning room. I made my husband yank it out and lay laminate. With the camel back pieces, I just avoid buying them.
Oh Leilani, hindsight is 20/20. We have gorgeous, original hard wood floors underneath. I put carpet everywhere for the dog. She couldn’t walk on hard woods. I think about ripping it all out and going back to the hard woods.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could clean that fast!??! Probably the kitchen for me as well. Now that you are done... come clean my house! LOL Have a great night!

Normally $250-350 when it was brand new every where else. I absolutely love it. Easy to clean, bagless washable filters. I have laminate floors throughout my house, except for 1 bedroom. For me it pulls double duty because I don't need to dust mop/sweep or use a dust pan! I can run my vaccum through out even get my baseboards then mop with w microfiber pads if It needs it. The canister detaches to get under the beds and furniture. And I can switch between hard floors or laminate options without turning off the vaccum. Its seamless. This is the one I have. First off, you don't know their relationship so he could've done some cleaning off camera and just not really wanted to be filmed or something. He's not home all the time though as he's a military man and has been deployed 3 times now
unless the boys play with those toys in the bedroom, they need to go, the toys not the boys. no toy playing in the bedroom, it is to sleep in and get dressed in. Period.
