    I know it's 'floor standing' but the tweeter is pointing at your knees if your sitting or at your feet if your lounging. Neither case is supposed to be right as in tweeter on axis with your ears. I'd think it would be mandatory to put them on top of something to bring the tweeter up to ear level in the interest of optimizing placement. Or, alternately as I keep mentioning after all the raves about the KLH 5, on an up tilting stand. Put a brick under the front edge and aim at your ear height, toe in to taste. 5 minutes. Undoubtedly this should effect the bass but maybe in a good way or if a bad or reduced way, adjust.

    An appendix is probably not entirely useless. Think of it kind of like a spare tire for intestinal flora. If there is a "nuclear" event (such as illness or antibiotics) that wipes out the digestive bugs in your gut, then the appendix can serve as a backup reservoir to help restore them. This analogy to a spare tire might even go a bit further, since it is considered unnecessary in many modern cars and has been removed and replaced with an inflator full of goo. Unfortunately this won't help in a "nuclear" event such as rubbing a curb that shreds your tire and leaves you stranded for hours. Not that I'm bitter about losing spare tires or appendices 🤕

    Okay, I will give it to you on this one. However, I DID say that my upper spending limit (absolute) on a tower speaker would be $1500. These come in at $1000 AND it has a built in 100watt amp. I know that you do hype up the Q acoustic speakers, but others can back it up. So, I would say that this is a perfect example of finding a good value piece of hi-fi gear. I do like the sleek thin design and not needing a subwoofer is a huge plus and you definitely save more over a bookshelf system. I am amazed that you can get that low in the low end roll off of the frequency response, with only a 5.25" woofer. I thought you would AT LEAST need a 6.5" woofer to get down that low. Seems like a nice find for us folks that want good sound but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it.

    Check out "A British Audiophile" Tarun on RUclips, in his review of the M20s he explains how the digital throughput without a DAC works, basically the PCM stream converts to PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) in the amplifier section, so the conversion to analogue occurs at the last stage in the Class D amp, so the digital signal integrity is maintained with no conversion losses.

    • @RUfromthe40s
      @RUfromthe40s Месяц назад

      the problem starts in convertion , i´m aware of digital gear as i started in 1989 when i didn´t knew cds sounded horrible , meanwhile the DAT still is the best digital sound for home use , how about forgeting the litle 70´s dish and start selling DAT tapes ,pre-recorded ones as they did with decrease of sound with minidisc and it would be a improvement if using 80´s dat technology i remenber when first starting to use DAT i even compared it to Reels, i do like good sound no matter if digital or analog ,only don´t like sand thrown to my eyes, like i looked for a lot of good and expensive cd players that are modern and expensive ,only when looking at the specifications some weren´t as good as my Pioneers from the 90´s but i have a CEC belt driven that is above all i checked, ofered to me in 96 maybe and discover that they are still sold for 36.000€ ,yes that´s when my jaw fell to the ground and eyes almost got out of is sockets ,cartoon type

    The most wonderful segment of audio for audiophiles like me has nothing to do with Wilson loudspeakers. If I bought Wilson loudspeakers ,with home equity money, no matter how good they were I would not experience the same jaw-dropping emotional high that an inexpensive speaker defying physics and my lifetime of learned audio expectations might deliver by trumping all those expectations with superior sound. That is about the only way I can feel a real emotional audiophile high. Keep pointing out products in this important category that I wholly do not expect to see in Stereophile, The Absolute Sound, What-hifi, or even the more mainstream Sound&Vision.

    Well my expectations were shattered as well. Crutchfiued just listed the specs for pre-order Wiim Amp Pro and it does not support Airplay....BOOOOO! Wanted to go to smaller amp streamer combo to make my MASTER bedroom system more compact but maintain inter device connectivity. Currently use largish Onkyo integrated and power amps with Wiim Pro (2) and external DACs Might dump all and go to Blusound Powernode (two needed). It will be a smaller and cleaner look. Will lose the EQ though.
    What do I do with all the old equipment?
