The opening means both Ruby and Neo are versions of Alyx. They're both broken girls who fell through to this world. They are looking for a purpose and to heal their pain over loss
Theory: In this volume's retelling of Alyx's story. Whose playing the role of Alyx? Ruby or Neo? That last shot as Ruby falls and we see Neo before it shifts to Alyx. Ice Cream Girl has me worried she'll try to leave RWBY and Rusty behind in Ever After to get back to Remnant like Alyx did to Lewis.
I think they're two versions of Alyx. RWBY is the original version in the original story and Neo is the selfish one that Jaune met while he was in the Everafter
Before RWBY fell off the tree did anyone else notice that Ruby's eyes were glowing oddly gold? Or was that just a reflection of the sun I really can't tell
If Alyx really did sacrifice Lewis to the tree to return to Remnant, maybe the tree turned Lewis into a Jabberwocker which explains the part where the creature was running through the dark acre and got cut by the grass. I don’t think Jabberwockers can bleed…
@@Rqblt you call what happened in the last episode therapy? What sort of therapy are you going to? Also this was a joke, so please don’t take it too seriously. I feel like I have to specify that or someone will get offended.
@@drguineapig8755 yeah… i spoke too soon before THAT episode came out, the whole point of therapy is to identify the cause of mental trauma in this case was to reveal who had it worst from the last volume which was ruby and jaune and then eventually see them get over it so far we were supposedly in the process of revealing their current state of mind but then HOLY SHIT I WASNT EXPECTING THE LAST EPISODE TO BE THE IRONY OF THERAPY… i guess maybe things might still get better at the end of this volume and that ruby and jaune will somehow turn out fine at the end
@@Rqblt Yeah hopefully things get better. Also this raises a bigger question: If Ruby gets reincarnated into a new body, how are they gonna defeat Salem? Because I’m pretty sure her silver eyes were probably the only things capable of killing her. Maybe little will become Ruby. I have a theory that based on the end of the op Ruby will turn into Alice although that also raises some questions of its own.

I like this
I now realize that in the opening with ruby falling the picture of Alyx with the boy shadow behind her is her brother Lewis.

Neo would never do that to team RWBY! They are very good friends after-all

After watching episode 9. This opening will never be the same again...

He said "lick" tho, it didn't cut him
I think this is the first RWBY op to have a second version.

Thank goodness it didn't come true
are there other differences in version 2, other than revealing the rusted knight as older Jaune?
Love it
yes give me views foolish viewers I didn't even make it 1440p fools
What’s different about V2?
spoilers: but the rusted knight is without his helmet
@@tyrianprotectionsquad8938 gotcha, thanks
Also Alyx in the flip book section isn’t as dark, you can make out details on her now
@@roleplaycentral142 No, it was like that before.
V1 had Ruby's emblem in her V1-V4-current scene. V2, her emblem actually fades away.
